Tonkatsu Ramen

Edo has a low key vibe and is so reasonable with top notch quality. We are so blessed to have an abundance of Japanese restaurants it Lynnwood. This one certainly shines.

Phoenix Rising Roll, Rainbow Roll
Ron P.

Typical sushi spot. We had the Phoenix Rising Roll (absolutely delicious), the Rainbow Roll (okayish), and the hirame nigiri 2pc. I didn't think too much of the food maybe besides the phoenix rising roll. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time, so the service was quick. Typical sushi/japanes restaurant vibes.

I've been looking for a new sushi place to try and this place did not disappoint! Delicious unique rolls and generous size too. The restaurant is small and quiet, but I prefer sushi places like this. I placed a phone order and it was ready within the promised time frame.

Takoyaki
Diana C.

We got take out so can't really speak to service or ambiance much, though it was very well packaged. I tried three rolls and I liked all of them. My partner liked his takoyaki and chicken too. The only drawback for us was the price to portion size for the rolls. It was a bit on the pricey side, especially for delivery when it's already kind of expensive with the restaurant delivery fee (not including all the app fees). Otherwise it was tasty and I'd certainly go in person!

Katsu donburi - YUM!
Charlie L.

Of all the sushi places around Edmonds and Lynnwood, Edo is by far the best sushi around, always fresh and tasty. I took Neil there last Sunday and he literally looked up at me and said "whoa, this is the best sushi I've had in a long time... the fish is so fresh and buttery and just melts in your mouth." They have some great hot foods too. I love the Katsu donburi, which in addition to coming in a wood bowl with wooden spoon, has beautiful, well balanced flavors. My only downside is the male owner is.... I donno the right word... an old stodgy Asian bro-dude. His wife clearly works twice as hard, and he often just sits around drinking beer or shoot the shit with customers (mostly other bro-dudes) even when it's busy. He gets annoyed at me for putting in modifications (I have colitis) - I totally get it, it is annoying to have to write down mods, but it's either that or I don't order it. Now I just don't order the dishes that needs modifications and I don't go as much. I totally understand the annoyance, but my issue is with how he handles it. If you're really annoyed, don't sneer at me, talk to me about it or even say, "sorry we can't do modifications" and I would understand. I always hope he doesn't come take my order, and the last two times, it was either his wife or the great waitress they have, so I am not going to detract a star for one grouchy chauvinist dude. But honestly, if you are a man, especially if you're a bro-dude, you are going to get excellent service.

We've been here a few times and love it. I think it's the best sushi we've found in Lynnwood so far. The staff here is friendly and wonderful. We always feel like we are going to have dinner at a friends house when we arrive. This is a small family owned business tucked behind the convention center. We have tried a bunch of rolls that were all delicious and most recently the calamari was wonderful and the sashimi carpaccio is fresh and delicious.

Average sushi experience (takeout). Not a bad experience at all, but nothing stood out. Lots of interesting choices but the sushi rolls were pretty small for the price range. Taste is good, value is less good. This rating doesn't include service obviously. Phoenix rising - Tempura shrimp with some imitation crab meat on the inside and seared salmon on the out. Standard roll. Mango tango - Scallop on the inside, salmon and mango on the outside. First few are great, but it got old fast. The mango with pineapple sauce is an interesting combo that speaks to your taste buds initially, but then it got stale and pushed further away from sushi. Double crunch roll - Shrimp tempura, spicy salmon, and imitation crab meat on the inside. Deep fried outside was a perfect crispy but tasted mostly the shrimp tempura and none of the salmon. Crispy fire cracker - Fried sushi rice topped with spicy salmon. Rice is too fried, it was pretty hard and not necessarily crispy.

Chirashi

I live within 10 minutes of this place. There are a lot of other sushi restaurant in the area, but I think this place stands out as the best in terms of quality. I notice the extra attention and care that goes into the different things I order. Great rolls and Chirashi bowls. Priced a little on the higher side but the quality makes up for it.

This is a nice little neighborhood spot, service was a little slow as they only had one server and I believe one cook short staff. The food was great and I was excited they had the fish red bean dessert as I haven't had that since we lived in Japan many years ago as a kid!! They didn't have nato my dad's favorite and no potatoes in the chicken curry. They forgot my dad's miso soup she didn't know if she brought it out or not. They definitely need a little more help so if you know anyone looking for a job they should apply.

Look no further ! Edo is the best sushi restaurant to eat, in this region ! Edo is our favorite place to eat fresh, high quality fish at a reasonable price. Every time we eat at Edo's the food is always wonderfully tasty ! I can tell Edo's keeps their standards very high and topmost dishes. We really look forward every week to eating here ! The ambiance is cozy, clean and relaxing. You will always be pleased with your dish and experience. The servers are wonderful as well, very attentive and courteous! Highly recommend this place ! COVID: All staff wear mask including the Chef, and practice social distancing ! Hand sanitizing throughout the restaurant, you can tell the restaurant is cleaned frequently.

Salmon Bento
Margareth R.

I ordered the salmon bento box $21 the salmon was the smallest thinnest salmon I've ever had since it was the main entree I was expecting a more adequate piece. You can get bigger salmon pieces at other teriyaki places for less price. Agree with the service speed. It's very slow and you need to wave the down to get refills on your drinks.

Left - right Las Vegas roll, Shrimp Tempura, and Spider Roll

Me and my siblings favorite sushi spot. Always come here and usually get a double crunch but decided to switch it up this time. By the time I call and get there it's almost always ready which I love

Not enough wasabi/Ginger for as thick as this was to help cut the single taste. We got tired of this real quick. You enter and order at the kiosk. Had no way of knowing the wait time due to seeing no one around. Most ppl sat in their car and waited. I think it took about 15-20 mins for my text letting me know the order was ready. Must keep your receipt to show the lady so she can hand over the order. Which is a good thing. Unfortunately this was just not for us. But I can see the hype tho. And then I can see the 3.5 rating. Located in Alderwood Plaza, there's plenty of parking nearby within walking distance…read more I'd say Sushi Hana is one of my favorite conveyor-belt sushi spots in the Lynnwood area. I usually come here 2-3 times a year when I'm craving "fast" sushi. Since they've been open, I haven't had a bad experience or poor-quality food. If there's one small drawback, it's that some staff (not all) aren't always attentive with things like water refills. That said, service here is fairly minimal by design--staff mainly help with drink refills, clearing plates, and bringing out items that the conveyor or robot can't deliver. The ambiance is fast-paced and casual. You order from a tablet, and your food arrives via conveyor belt to your table. Most diners aren't here longer than 1-2 hours. It can get a bit loud due to close seating and the conveyor/robot activity, but it's nothing that takes away from the overall experience. As long as the food and service stay consistent, I'll keep coming back whenever I'm in the mood for quick, convenient sushi. TL;DR: Reliable spot for quick, good sushi with a fun conveyor setup. Service is minimal and can be hit or miss, but the food keeps me coming back.

It's definitely not the best sushi in the world (I would give that between 3 to 5 stars depending on the item), but the convenience and value just can't be beat, hence the 5 stars. Also, I take people with kids here because the entertainment value is so high with the water delivery robot and the automatic track delivery system. It's a fun ambiance - like we're living in the future. My favorites are the seared garlic salmon, the french roll, and the negi hama roll. For the hot foods, it's hands down the oden udon and the chicken katsu donburi. Definitely highly recommended.

We came in the evening after day 2 of Geekfest and it was pretty busy inside. Luckily there was a spot open for two so we were seated and given menus. The inside is a bit dim, there were lots of tables with chairs or booth seats throughout, and there was even bar seating as well. My boyfriend ordered tonkotsu ramen and crunchy salmon roll as well as takoyaki to share while I got their red volcano tonkotsu and a Thai iced tea. I noticed there was a Japanese customer who spoke with one of the waitresses and she spoke Japanese back and it was cool to see and hear that! I wonder if the owners are Japanese as well as it's rare to find actual Japanese owned restaurants. The service here was friendly, courteous and they did check in every so often. The choice of music playing was quiet cafe music which was interesting but it was so hard to hear. My Thai iced tea came first then the takoyaki. Afterwards, our ramen bowls came not too long after that and the sushi roll came in last. I am so happy to say that the takoyaki was the perfect ratio of batter, octopus, and sauces on top. The ramen broth was hearty and smooth. I loved how spicy my red volcano tonkotsu was especially because I love things extremely spicy and it was definitely a fantastic ramen for spicy lovers. My boyfriend said he was very happy with his roll and ramen. He usually doesn't order ramen too often especially on a hot day but he said he was happy he did as it was one of the better ones he's had. My Thai iced tea was the right amount of sweetness and the perfect thing to sip on while handling my spicy ramen. I definitely want to come back to try their other selections.

I cannot give this fine restaurant enough stars. I've been frequenting Ryu Nakano's sushi…read morerestaurants for many years and it's some of the best sushi I've ever had. We reserve well in advance and mostly sit at the sushi bar. The space is on the smaller side but I've seen hopeful walk-ins be seated (I've also seen many turned away--I suggest reservations.) Service has always been stellar. We normally enjoy a salmon flight, a tuna flight, the kelp-cured scallops (must be ordered in advance) and whatever else strikes our fancy or Nakano-San recommends. It's always spectacular! I find the nigiri to be just about perfect--just enough rice to offset the fresh taste of the fish. There is plenty on the menu beyond sushi but we admit to coming here for one reason only so I can't speak to much else (although the green salad is very nice, as is dessert.) Plenty of wine, cocktail and sake options. I remember the many years we didn't have a sushi restaurant in downtown Edmonds so I never take an evening here for granted. We are fortunate to have Nakano-San as a part of our community. Check it out if you haven't yet, and enjoy!

We were seated quickly and were not left waiting long for any part of our dinning experience which was very nice. We both got 2 portions of the 11 piece omakase ($53) and the great pacific northwest roll ($20) to share. The omakase offered good variety and came with an explanation of each cut of fish which was nice. We both enjoyed everything just fine but were left a little disappointed with the quality. Because of all the great reviews and the price point, I think we just were expecting to enjoy our meal much more than we did. The fish quality was not poor by any means but just not that good. The roll also lacked a bit of flavor as well :( I don't know if we just went on an off night or not, and I am hopeful that might be true. The ambiance was nice and balanced, the tables were spaced apart well, making the hum of the restaurant nice but not too much. I don't think we would be back due to the overall quality of our meal but it think it is worth a stop if you are craving sushi in the area.
