Our go-to sushi spot! This is what my husband and I land on when we want to splurge a little and get good sushi. We get the Hokkaido sushi set which comes with 3 rolls and 14 pieces of nigiri. It's a giant order and could probably feed 3 people, or 2 very hungry folks like us :) their fish always taste fresh and hits the spot every time. Quality/portions are great and we love the variety that the sushi set offers. We've only ever ordered to-go, but inside the restaurant looks nice and it's always fairy busy when we pick up. Their sashimi was fresh, rolls were good, and it didn't need soy sauce as it had enough flavors on top. Establishment is Chinese owned. I can hear them speaking in cantonese in the kitchen and sushi area. They have some Chinese stir fry dishes other than sushi and Japanese food. Our server was nice, and came to check on us a few times. They do have limited parking spaces in the front, but you can always park a bit farther. Since we came when they just opened, there were lots of spaces. Inside was bright, our tables were a little bit sticky. So, it wasn't properly wiped down the night before. I always have isopropyl alcohol spray for hand sanitize, so I just sprayed the table myself and wiped down a bit. We'll be back to try other dishes as food was good. read more

The decor of Q is spot on for a sushi joint. The tables were clean and the servers and chefs were delightful. We asked for a couple of accommodations e.g., an ikura hand roll for our daughter which was not on the menu but they accommodated. The fish was fresh and tasty. This is definitely a place we will try again if we are in the area. The only drawbacks were the tuna was a little mushy I prefer my maguro to be a little more firm. The fish on the Sakura roll did not work for me either. But their fried calamari was very good! read more

Wow. Found my new favorite low key sushi restaurant in the Seattle area. Sushi quality is wonderful. I was particularly impressed by their tuna (which I tend not to prefer). The seared salmon belly had a nice charry flavor mixed with the soft tender layers of salmon belly fat. Tempura set was good (and filling) with a nice crunch - good mix of batter. Their agedashi tofu has a nice sweet sauce balanced with the texture of batter and the softness of the tofu. The bonito on top adds a nice finishing touch. The chirashi is delicious - sushi quality is very good and I was particularly impressed that I enjoyed the fish I don't eat as often (tuna, octopus, escolar). I requested no surf clam and the chef subbed in a toro - thank you! Ambiance is nice bright and clean - good for a causal date or family and friends meal. Went on a Monday evening with no wait and plenty of tables. Service was spectacular. Always checked in on and very welcoming. Parking was easy with plenty of parking. A coworker has been recommending Q Sushi for months; I've been long overdue to try it. Our meal started with some of the best gyoza I've ever had. The crunchiness of the wrapper was perfect and the meat was well seasoned. We followed up with Paradise, Vegas, and Spider rolls. That's also the order in which we ranked them. The Paradise rolls were amazing, other than falling apart very easily, with a tangy and nuanced flavor. The Vegas rolls were a bit heavy (probably the fried avocado) and the spider rolls had so much roe on top that it overwhelmed the roll. Presentation also wasn't great, with the rolls squished together. White space is your friend. We enjoyed it. We'd go back, but it wasn't our favorite sushi spot. read more

The hospitality at Q is on another level. My guest was easily able to order and customize udon soup with fresh tofu, which is an off-menu protein; the server graciously offered us a choice of regular or low-sodium soy sauce, rather than just leaving the bottles on the table, which reduces clutter and stress; and there are print menus, which helps to keep the dining experience analog. (There are also menus by QR code.) Overall, the desire to comfort was genuine. That's why I'm giving a bonus star to bring my rating to four, because I hate to say it, but the food hovers dangerously around average. The miso soup was well salted for me (and too salty for my guest), but the rest was underseasoned. The sushi was pretty, but not moist or super flavorful, the udon noodles had good texture but an underdeveloped broth, and the edamame just steamed and salted at the end - I would have loved some flavor here because you taste the pods, even though you don't eat them. I appreciated the hot house sake given how bitterly cold it has been outdoors, but it had a totally unbalanced flavor profile, which led with alcohol and finished weakly. There was a steady stream of solo diners when we stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon, and one party of three catching up on old times. read more

Met up with friends here on a Monday night for dinner. They were able to accommodate 6 of us, and the restaurant was pretty busy for a Monday night. I had been eyeing this place since they are pretty new, and was very excited to try it finally! We ordered: - 8 pc Sushi Set $28 x2 - Chirashi Bowls - Spicy Tuna Roll - a couple of other rolls I do not remember the names of - Poke Chip I got the 8 pc Sushi set, and thought the fish was very fresh! I really enjoyed what I ordered. Cody ordered a roll that was made with soy paper. It was good, but it fell apart easily. I liked the Poke Chip as well, but Cody complained it wasn't much food for the price. My friend said she felt the fish was fresh, but that they served it a lil warmer than normal here. To my rough estimate, this is the closest restaurant to the newly opened Lynwood city Center Light Link Rail station and is situated in a non descript strip mall a short walk across from the station. There is not much in the immediate vicinity to choose from. This is a low key, casual sushi experience. The fish was of pretty high quality. I stuck with mostly sashimi which were all pretty generous and fresh. The Toro was melt in your mouth but the stand out was the seared salmon belly! Even though the sashimi option for this is not on the menu (comes listed as nigiri only) the chef graciously accepted my request for sashimi style. This was exquisite and highly recommended if it's available. Literally vaporized into pure flavor when it hits your mouth! I am also a sucker for the cooked fish collar when its on the menu and tried both the sake (salmon) kama and hamachi (yellowtail) and both were generous in size and cooked perfectly! The complimentary orange slices and friendly chef was icing on the cake. The place was pretty empty I thought for a Saturday night but apparently the day before was bonkers with the opening of the light rail station. Found a nice joint that is just right with the size and service. Fairly small area, but love the food they kicked out! I had a Spicy tuna handroll, Salmon skin handroll, Dynamite roll, and Ono nigiri. Spicy tuna handroll was per-fect! Has a nice kick with some heat on it. It wasn't disguised to hide any flaws or lack of knowledge in how to prep some spicy tuna. Salmon skin handroll had so much crunch to it you'd think you'd develop a 6 pack from all the crunches! Having said that though...it did seem like the salmon skin handroll was a bit on the loose end. Nothing that made a mess of anything because I still thoroughly enjoyed the dang thang! The Dynamite roll was very good. Had some spots where avocado was the star topper...but all in all...it was DY-NO-MITE! The Ono nigiri, first time I had it torched with a chef's torch and that was the standard. Everyone else after that served it cold and raw and it never was the same as when I had to flash torched. But this chef nailed it and I found myself in love with Ono again! Warning folks...do NOT go crazy and gorge on Ono. Escolar can have a very bad side affect that can cause you change your address to sitting on the can. My wife had the Teriyaki salmon bento box. She ate most of it but felt the rice was from a dry patch that she felt was maybe old rice. It came with pork gyozas which she doesn't eat pork...YAY FOR ME! Needless to say...she killed it.
