    Late night grub

This used to be a late night sushi house that we would go to after the "club". Now, it is our go-to family spot for early evening dinner. We like to sit at the bar or small tables in the front and enjoy appetizers that include calamari or tempura. The kids like the early dinner special that comes with chicken, California roll, miso, salad, and tempura. Adults love the Philadelphia roll and Mexican roll. Sometimes, we splurge on some love boat! Plus, mochi at the end with three flavor options is always a win. And you are always greeted with smiles!

Super cozy place, delicious food and attentive service! Will go again when we are back in the area!

This is a small home style restaurant that serves a variety of Japanese food. From curry katsu to sashimi. I loved that there was an adorable elderly Japanese couple who seemed to be the owners manage the restaurant. Service was very good and everyone seemed very friendly. We ordered the curry pork katsu (large), beef curry udon, beef curry with rice (reg size) the salmon fest, and salmon hamachi bowl. Everything was delicious and the fish was fresh. Good size portions. Our 3 entrees came with miso soup. And the salmon hamachi bowl came with a mango mochi ice cream, My son missed eating authentic simple Japanese food and that's what he got. I thought the price was very reasonable for what we got. Can't wait to come back to try other items on their menu. (There's many specials posted on the wall.)

YUM. Rolls are smaller than I'm used too but if ya get 2 it's almost a full meal. They are reasonably priced and the ingredients tasted fresh :) Would love to come here for sashimi next time Service was nice, ambiance, chill, and noise level was moderate.

Tasty sushi and very late (for SB) hours make this place a win win for late night eaters. Sadly they no longer serve lunch.

The miso soup was pretty "meh", but the salad with its miso dressing was tasty, as was the shrimp and veggie tempura; nothing outstanding, but on point. The pork-filled gyoza were also fresh and delicious. The "Bluefin tuna 6 ways" was outstanding: each presentation highlighted different cuts of the fish and each one was delicious and a bit different, really good. My girl had some green tea mochi she liked; I tasted it and it didn't do much for me, but... Wine pours by the glass are generous and reasonable, and the service was just fine, courteous and attentive. This is a small restaurant and it can get kind of noisy and crowded, but that's also a testament to the fact people know how good this place is. If you're a local you probably know this, but if you're a visitor (like we were) be sure to check this place out if you're in Santa Barbara and craving really good Japanese food. Recommended.

Had reservations for 7 pm dinner on Friday. The place wasn't busy during our entire dining experience. Aside from a larger table of ~10 people and 2 smaller tables, the place was empty, which was nice and quiet for date night and anniversary celebration. The 9-course Kaiseki was plate after plate of flavor. Highlights: - Course 4: Somen with sweet broth, grilled beef, and grilled green onion. THIS. The beef was so good, I refused to swallow, so I could savor the flavor. Fatty in flavor. Lean in cut. Somen cooked to perfection. - Course 7: Chilean sea bass simmered in bonito chicken broth with daikon and green beans ~ THE SEA BASS WAS GAS. Marinated in miso before grilling, the tenderness and juiciness of the sea bass is locked in prior to simmering in the broth. Chicken broth with the bonito added depth to the dish. - Course 9: Black sesame pudding with tangerine jelly ~ THIS. This dish embodied the level of black sesame I expect for any dish. Tangerine jelly cuts through as a nice refresher for the next bite. Perfectly not too sweet. All in all, I had the best experience. Each component of a dish adds its own flavor that completes the dish as a whole. Ultimately, one of my favorite culinary experiences that took my taste buds on a journey! Would return!

There was a bit of a wait on a weekend lunch, but we were eventually seated on their outside deck right over the water. They have some umbrellas for shade, and you can enjoy the view of the ocean from here. They also have indoor seating, but I think the outside area is generally more enjoyable. We ordered the Garlic Baked Clams to start. An order comes with six Littleneck Clams topped with garlic, breadcrumbs, and parmesan cheese with some extra cheese and some lemon wedges on the side. These were pretty good! We also got a Crab Cakes entree that came with chipotle aioli, coleslaw, and two large onion rings. The crab cakes were good overall, and I enjoyed having some onion rings on the side. But the main reason I wanted to come here was to get their Uni with Raw Scallops! An order comes with six pieces on top of a raw scallop on a slice of lime. They also garnish the plate with the live uni itself. It's so fresh, it's literally still moving on your plate. The uni had a little sweetness and wasn't too bitter. It paired nicely with the scallops! The only downside of this place is there are a handful of pigeons that hang around on the pier walking around looking for food scraps on the floor. You can tell they're pretty used to people because they'll come right up to you and walk under your table and chair. A little bothersome, but it's not too bad. Lastly, there's only one bathroom inside, so the line can get super long. Just a head's up!
