I have been paying maintenance for years. I had a problem with the a/c unit and it is under part warranty until 2031. EDS has taken approximately 4 weeks to replace electronic boards and they are at a loss on how to fix the a/c unit and from a cost standpoint they don't stock the parts. EDS is now hoping the manufacturer's tech support can teach them what to do next to try and fix the a/c. I am sincerely and profoundly disappointed with EDS. read more

The person in charge of pulling the permit for our $12,000 AC installation (overpriced) pocketed the money instead of getting the permit. We have the house on the market for sale now and the company has continued to attempt to redeem themselves to get the permit however they did not even show up for inspection of the AC like they're supposed to, and the inspection failed because it was a terrible job with a lot wrong. I consulted a free construction law firm and they said basically we could sue them which I 100% will if they don't get their act together. this has been a nightmare. my advice is don't use this company. read more

Hot water heater was not working this morning; called EDS and within the half hour someone was here (they send you a text with your techs name and picture so you know who you will be working with). There is nothing more frustrating than coming home after a 10-hour flight to realize you have no hot water. This is what happened to me early this morning. Boohoo. So I called EDS in the morning and was on the schedule for early afternoon. The person that took my call was super pleasant and even asked me to make sure that my circuit breakers were all okay. To me that means they aren't trying to scheme me out of my money. I always go to worst case scenario in my head so I asked if they would be able to replace the water heater today if necessary and they said yes. That's super important to me since who wants to wait for hot water. The tech arrived at 2:30 and did his repairs in about an hour. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. The price was reasonable. One thing I really liked was that they text you once the technician is on his way with a picture of the tech and his location. This is super helpful for me because I work near my home and would rather not sit at home waiting for a service call. I am going to keep their number handy so I can continue to use them in the future. read more

EDS installed a new A/C unit in 2019. In the span of a year or more, I've had to call EDS around 20 times to fix items on the unit. i lost count but it could be more. it was always something; motor, coils, leaking, etc. Other than the original unit being old, i had poor drainage which i asked to be corrected during the install. This was not done and was just one of the many issues. unfortunately EDS relies on entry level staff to do the install with spotty supervision from a manager when he was there. The company agreed to extend the warranty a second year due to the many issues in year one. For the good, the field technicians were very responsive and courteous. They were always mission focused to get you up and running. It's pretty bad that i knew most of their staff. Big shout out to David Mullin. He's the best. He gets 5 stars. The last straw was when my A/C went down over a holiday weekend due to a blown motor and i was forced to pay $150 for an emergency fee to have a technician come to replace the part. keep in mind that the unit was still under warranty and the motor failure had nothing to do with negligence. i called to ask if the motor blew the day after install, would EDS still charge me.... customer Service said, "that's a good question". So is it the products being installed or the service being offered? read more

My air conditioner in my condominium stopped working. I called the first AC company and a repairman came out. He didn't know what he was doing and told me I needed a new unit and at the very least a delay relay switch. Oddly enough, he recommended I call EDS for this project. I called EDS and Sean Caplan came out to look at my AC. Sean brought his pressure gauges and explained every test he did as I hovered over him. He went through the diagnostic tests and he saw nothing wrong with the AC itself. He said the AC looked good and was not old and did not need to be replaced. His final test was the thermostat. My AC thermostat needed to be replaced. I had a fancy NEST thermostat with Wi-Fi and I ask Sean for just a basic thermostat. He gave me the Honeywell T4 Pro Thermostat programmable one. I give this company 5 stars because I adored Sean Caplan. Sean is an expert in AC repair. I thought the price I was charged for the Honeywell Home T4 Pro programmable thermostat was expensive for $411. I then looked on Amazon and found this thermostat for a price of $40.54. To me, the markup in price was excessive. I did sign up for the maintenance program and the service charge was waved. I will use and recommend this company (due to Sean) but I will be more savvy and ask the price of the parts prior to installation. Terry Hickey read more

Terrible company, in our estimation. We hope our experience will help you make up your own mind: EDS broke the fire sprinklers in the condo unit above ours in the process of installing an ac unit, flooding both units in the process and displacing our tenant (including his wife and young child) over the holidays. They made a lot of statements about how they were going to stand by their obligations to make it right, but did not follow through. For example, while they understood they displaced our tenant and his family, they stopped coordinating and paying for the family's hotel room while the condo was uninhabitable and being restored (a process we did our best to expedite for everyone's benefit). Indeed, EDS even stopped returning our calls or responding to our emails about the substantial damage they caused and what to do about our displaced tenant and his family. Instead, EDS punted and told the tenant he'd have to deal with their insurance company and bear the burden of paying for the hotel room himself in the interim, not understanding that EDS was legally and directly on the hook for all damages they caused notwithstanding any insurance coverage (i.e., EDS was more than welcome to seek reimbursement from its insurer itself, but EDS was directly obligated to fully remedy the situation they caused; we were not obligated to resort to any terms dictated by EDS's insurance policy insofar as it is between EDS and its insurer). We feel that EDS acted unprofessionally and is a huge disappointment given their representations about making things right, especially insofar as we have been more than reasonable throughout the process. I should have known something was amiss when I was placed in touch with an employee in HR to handle the matter. None of the higher ups ever responded to our written inquiries or even offered an apology. Not a single one. If this company won't stand by its mistakes how can you expect them to stand by their work? Flashy slogans and marketing materials only go so far. Actions speak volumes (or, in this case, inaction). Seek out a company for which a high level of service and support is their creed, not just their slogan read more
