I've been meaning to write this review for a long time…read more My Ford F-150 Lightning was involved in an accident that caused significant damage to the front end. The bumper was torn apart, the headlight assembly and surrounding bodywork were heavily damaged, and the front corner of the truck was basically ripped open. Looking at it immediately after the accident, it was pretty painful to see. They brought it completely back to life. What impressed me most was that this wasn't a simple vehicle or a simple repair. The F-150 Lightning is a sophisticated EV with cameras, sensors, electronics, lighting systems, and driver-assistance equipment integrated throughout the front of the truck. I wanted the repair handled by someone who understood that putting a vehicle like this back together correctly involves a lot more than replacing a bumper and matching the paint. The entire process ended up taking about six weeks, largely because of parts shortages and delays getting components from Ford. Throughout that time, the shop was easy to work with, communicated with me, and handled the insurance side of the repair so I wasn't stuck trying to coordinate everything myself. When parts were delayed, they worked through it rather than cutting corners just to get the truck out the door faster. And the end result speaks for itself. You would never know from looking at the truck today what that front corner looked like after the accident. The body panels line up properly, the bumper and trim look right, the lighting was restored, the paint matches beautifully, and the entire front end looks like it did before the accident. After seeing how badly damaged the truck was, getting it back looking this good was honestly remarkable. If you need ordinary body work, I'm sure they can handle it. But where I would especially recommend this shop is if you have a newer or more sophisticated vehicle--particularly an EV--with significant collision damage and you want someone you can trust to put it back together correctly. My F-150 Lightning went in looking wrecked and came back looking like my truck again. I couldn't ask for much more than that. Long overdue five-star review. Highly recommended.

From the moment I contacted them, they were helpful, professional, and understanding. They took the time to listen to what was going on with my truck and made a stressful situation feel much easier to deal with. I was extremely stressed out because I was traveling with my family in an unfamiliar area, but the team at KSH Automotive made us feel in good hands. Their excellent reviews are certainly well-deserved. They explained the issue to me in a clear manner, and the turnaround time was incredibly fast. So much so that I towed the car from San Carlos to San Francisco. My daughter's Subaru's radiator broke down and the coolant got into the engine. We got 3 different quotes for various outcomes. It ranged from a couple of hundred to 6K. Part of the problem is that we don't know how badly damaged the engine is. I talked to Steven and sent over the other estimate and the diagnosis from our usual auto repair place. He got back to me super quickly and was able to provide a solution which would solve the current problem and give us time to see if the problem will persist. We agreed on a fix and he got it back to us within a few days. I was so very impressed with the thorough, multi-page diagnostic that caught other things like a manufacturer recall. It really does make a difference when your mechanic used to work at the place of your car make! Either way, we will see if the car is fixed or if we need to proceed to a rebuild/new engine. This was such a positive experience and I really appreciate the thoroughness, expectation setting, and expediency in which our car was serviced.

I didn't see any of his old crew also making the move as I used to be a regular at his old shop. He told me most went to other shops or have retired. It was nice to see Simon at least. It took an hour to do the oil change. He called me mid job that my engine and cabin air filters needed replacing. $90 (2 filters $55 and labor $35.) I said yes as I was too lazy to do it myself. It would have have taken too much effort to buy the filters myself and install it. ($22 for the engine and $10 for the cabin filter Amazon prices.) There was a slight mishap as they charged me for a synthetic oil change whereas I only got a regular oil change. The billing mechanic (not Simon) messed up. I caught it on the receipt and they had to refund me $26. Otherwise good job everyone at Sunset 76 Auto Repair. Be sure to check your receipt.

Time is money, but when you are busy as I am, working on your own car often just doesn't fit into the bigger picture. If however, you are as particular as I am with your own cars, you don't let just anyone touch your baby. Even then, it's hard to cut the apron strings. As a avid collector of classic automobiles for the past 30+ years, I was hard pressed to get my all original, factory black '55 Chevy Bel Air drop ready in time for the historic Devil's Side Tunnel opening. Though she is no garage queen (OK, she's a garage queen, having been acquired from the LeMay museum), keeping an antique car all original these days is a harder feat than you can imagine. I am a purist, plain and simple. So she sat for awhile. She developed a coolant leak. And the last time I took her for a ride, I brought her into the garage to park her, and she stalls... With a new battery no less. So now not only do I have a coolant leak, there's something going on with the charging system. I knew the leak was coming from a freeze plug, just couldn't identify the exact location and again, time is money and there was no need for me to crawl underneath the car to find the source. Until the electrical issue came up. Any mechanic can tell you after carb adjustments and vacuum leaks, electrical issues are a mechanic's worst nightmare. Time to make the call, cut the strings... And send my car to someone reliable. I bring the car to Ed and run through my laundry list. I have a list of questions too. He's patient and listens to my concerns, explains the processes for each request, and is able to answer all my questions until I am confident she's in good hands. I get a call not too long later (this is good news with a charging/draw issue) and Ed tells me the system is not charging at idle and my coolant leak is coming from the rear plug in the main block by the starter, as well as a few other call outs. I ask him to take care of everything he sees that's doable in the short time frame I gave him. And I mean short. Not only is he able to find the exact Delco regulator (new part, no less) needed for the car, he actually knew to polarize it, and polarize it correctly. You would be surprised at how many people do this all wrong and end up in a world of hurt down the road. And my freeze plugs? Not some aftermarket or reproduction junk, but authentic brass plugs, made in the good ole US of A. Did I mention us car guys are particular, and not just ANYBODY touches our cars? As a fellow mechanic, an avid collector, and for my classic that performed beautifully on the day of the parade, I give Ed props. He knows his stuff. 10/10.THE BEST MECHANIC Ed & Emerson.,why?its because i have tried so many mechanics and even brought to the Royal Motors because there is a white smoke coming out from the tail pipe. after they diagnosed they said that it has a fail turbo and needed to be replace so i have them fix it only to find out after 4 days when i got my car paid almost $2000 dollars they were not be able to fix it. and two months ago i brought my car to European Motor Works for coolant flush after a few hours they called me saying that my radiator has a leak. i was really upset and asked them what happen? because as far as i know my radiator has no leak and even said it really happens sometimes you don't even know it really has a leak and if you want we will give you a new radiator + labor for $600. what i did i pulled out my car saying i will just go back the following day but i did not instead i brought my car to Ed's Autohaus only to find out that my radiator has no leak it's perfectly fine not even a single drop of water. so what I am saying if you want an honest,reliable,dependable & very trustworthy mechanic in town its only ED'S AUTOHAUS. Although, Ed's Autohaus had a few bad reviews here on yelp! I decided to give this place a shot since a friend of mine has trusted Ed to work on his car for the past 5 years. So, I brought my BMW in for a tune-up alittle skeptical since i had to drive to be somewhere that evening and desperately needed my car to be done before I was off work!.. But, i put my worries aside and just brought it in anyways!! Im glad i did too cause not only did Ed get the job done before I got off that day, he also picked me up from work so I didn't have to cab it or bum a ride off a coworker... He also was able to fix the a few little issues I was having with my car...like my passenger window being off track and My trunk not opening when pulling the release handle from inside. And I didn't even mention it to him.... At the end of the day, I paid what I was quoted for the tune-up, got all the little issues fixed on my car and made it that evening... I agree with all that give this man "thumbs up". I too have had nothing but the upmost wonderful service since I meant Ed 2 yrs just by a phone call. He is straight forth, honest about what needs to be done and don't try to take advantage of your wallet. Many shops think "woman" have no clue, Ed lay it out what needs to done and get it done in a timely matter. I have relocated and I truly miss his service. I have not found anyone in my new location that can compare to Ed. I am calling Ed for his recommendations, that's just how high I trust his opinion. Negligent, Arrogant and Unethical…read more I prefer to put the worst auto shop experience of my life behind me and never look back, but given the negligence, arrogance and unethical behavior I experienced at Cowden Automotive, it's my social responsibility to share. I hired Cowden to do a simple hardtop installation on my truck since it takes 3 people to place top on vehicle, tho rest can be done by one. Day of install, Justin from Cowden called saying the top was "defective" and insisted I go into a legal battle w hardtop company. By an act of god, someone from Texas hardtop company happened to be in California visiting family. I asked rep to visit, Justin rudely fought this, but finally at great inconvenience to rep he came to Cowden. Turns out Cowden installed top without watching clear rudimentary installation video, they didn't remove 2x large parts before installing top, so top didn't fit! Rep re-installed on site at no cost. I shared installation video w Justin 2x via email before install, 1x day of install, plus install day I confirmed with Justin + his dad owner Mike they would follow video instructions. Their only job was to follow simple instructions, they didn't, nor did they have skills to trace steps with video after failed install. Mistakes happen, but there was zero remorse from Justin, zero cost reduction, he was very rude to me, the rep, and had I not caught installation error on video, it's clear he'd have charged for extra time due to shop negligence, plus I'd be out $7K paid for top. I asked him about accountability, he said he doesn't stand by the work done at shop, since he can't oversee everyone. Wow. Hands down, most unethical, negligent and arrogant auto shop I've ever experienced. I wouldn't trust these guys to install windshield wiper blades, much less anything mechanical where safety is concerned. Beware.
