He never showed up and never even called -- even though I specifically asked him to call if he was running late or needed to change to a different time -- leaving both me and my housemate waiting on time taken off of work. I called and left Steve a voicemail, but have had no response. I can't take issue with the 5-star reviews of his work, whose reviewers were clearly more lucky than me or the other 1-star reviewers here, in that he showed up. I can only say that not showing up and not following through with communication presents a level of "unprofessional" I prefer not to deal with. I also find it odd that Steve never responds to any review on here, good or bad.

We settled on a date, and he got all the work done in 2 days. I asked him if he could block off the sidewalk, because some people would walk or write their name in the cement. He brought some caution tape and used our garbage and recycling bins to block off the area. If you Google it, you should water your cement a few times during the day so the cement dries slower and sets stronger. Juan was a great guy and so were his people. He can do other things too, just ask him if you have other projects you need done. Mom and the neighbors loved the work also.

It was incredible how quickly they finished they did it all in three days and cleaned up everything afterwards. Our wood gate was starting to rot on the bottom and he suggested replacing it and it matches perfectly It looks fantastic and we are so happy with his work.

So the first thing I asked when shopping around was if they have both worker's comp AND liability insurance. Not a lot of tree/landscape contractors carry liability insurance, which narrows things down fast. Luis was responsive throughout the process from when I first contacted him to finishing up the job. When I first emailed him, he said he could be out the next day to walk through the yard and give me an estimate. We settled on a date that was just a couple of weeks out. His team showed up early. Luis couldn't be there at the beginning of the day, but the foreman of the team spoke excellent English. I walked through everything with him to make sure everybody was on the same page. The workers were great and had smiles on their faces despite doing backbreaking work on a hot day. They also had a great attention to detail, using hand clippers in places where they could have gotten it done faster with a hedge trimmer but it would have been a sub-par job, IMO. I also spent some time in the afternoon with Luis talking about referrals for replacing a trellis that's on its way out and for maintenance. I'm guessing that whoever he refers us to will do an excellent job as well!

Remy has been doing my landscaping and gardening for several years now…read more My garden has never looked better. He is flexible, reliable and creative. Recently (about 6 months ago) i had a tree "specialist" (not Remy) come in to trim and shape my 6 huge Acacia trees because i didn't realize Remy did trees, too. The other "specialist" did cut them back a bit - but after a few months they were awful again. Remy suggested some ideas - and told me he could do it. In ONE day all of my huge overgrown trees were shaped, trimmed, thinned out - all for LESS $ than i had paid the other guy. Now i look out my windows and am thrilled at how the trees look - i have more light and the trees themselves have never looked happier or healthier. He saved my Princess Flower tree from the edge of demise, made my Palm tree look like it belongs in a Hawaiian resort, and even mows my little lawn! i recommend Remy without reservation. I had been trying to find a drainage expert for years to help figure out some issues at my house…read morewhich is on a hill. Edelmar was the first person to really understand the problems and be able to quickly devise and implement effective solutions. I've now hired Edelmar to do a variety of work: water drainage management, retaining wall replacement, wood post replacement, and landscaping. I was actually a little bit worried when I first hired him for the first job, to replace a retaining wall, because his bid was so low. But his crew did good work. There was an insane amount of manual labor involved since the previous wall had basically been overwhelmed with dirt and buried. Several truckloads of dirt had to be disposed of... You can see one of them in the photo. He also installed foundation drainage using the Miradrain product and some base rock. When they dug out the old retaining wall, it also exposed significant amount of damaged siding and waterproofing on our adjacent house. This meant that we had to replace the waterproofing and siding on an emergency basis since it would be nearly impossible to do so once they installed the rest of the new retaining wall. One of Edelmar's brothers, experienced in this area, helped us do this work right on the spot for a fee that I considered completely reasonable. This helped establish trust. I've since hired Edelmar and team for additional work.

Edelmar was able to provide everything for the job. Again, can't recommend him enough!! One other thing to note. They cleaned everything up each night they left. They washed down the walkways and sidewalk and made sure to leave everything perfectly clean.
