He does a fantastic job on color. I have had many different shades and get tons of compliments. BUT he is scissor happy. Especially if you are a female over age 40. He feels longer hair on older ladies is out of style. But i trusted him. Even though i wanted my long hair. But the last time was IT. IT IS THE LAST TIME I WILL EVER HAVE HIM DO MY HAIR AGAIN. I've been going here for a few months now, and couldn't be happier with Edward. I'm a male and I have hair with a lot of waves and cowlicks, and a few scars on my head -- so it is very easy to mess up my hair. Edward does a great job -- I do a fade and blend and he cuts it perfectly, never a stray hair or any kind of issues. He's super attentive to detail and really focuses on doing a great job every time. He does a great job, listens carefully to what you want and absolutely goes the extra mile. In one of my first visits, he cut my hair and it looked great, but I like it a bit shorter, so he basically re-did the whole cut until it was spot on. Plus, he's a great guy and super easy to talk to, he's seen every movie out there and always is easy to chat with and makes everyone feel comfortable. Thanks Edward! read more

Amazing!!! Edward knows his stuff... A friend referred me here, so I decided to give it a try. I told him I needed a hair cut and a shape to my hair where my crazy curls would look somewhat controlled when need be. If you saw my hair, you might understand why I hate it at times! It's wavy/curly and the frizz gets on my nerves... Edward controlled my hair and has now designed it for several celebrations. My birthday party, a New Years event, and many other occasions. He knows his stuff. I'm glad I don't have to waste money to have someone fix my hair and then go back home to do it all over again... I have finally found someone I trust my hair with! I went into this salon as a walk in after attempting a DIY bathroom salon haircut. Edward was great. He is a great conversationalist and made me feel comfortable right away. Although he was close to closing I never felt that he was rushing. My hair looked better than I had expected. I LOVE my cut!! I feel like myself again!! Ed is great. We have been coming to Ed since we were dating 20+ years ago, and now our children are part of the tradition. Yes, he is great otherwise we wouldn't be driving so far to come get haircuts for the boys & girl, and hair colored for myself. It's even better now that there is no disgruntled employee! It is quite unfortunate that you find people causing defamation of character such as the one below, "Erin C." who's mother was the disgruntled employee and finds it easy to pretend to be an actual customer. Well, needless to say that, that is the only bad review. Ed is a professional with years of experience. At this stylish little salon you will get plenty of extra attention. Eddie is a very talented hairdresser and always adds little touches -- eyebrow trims, cleaning up unwanted facial, ear, or neck hair -- all included in the price of a basic haircut. Sure, the haircuts here cost a little more than Fantastic Sam's but they're well worth it. He is particularly good at hair coloring and highlights for both men and women. BTW, don't pay attention to the negative reviews of this place on Yahoo! Two of them were written by relatives of a competitor in Montrose, which is a tad oversupplied with hair salons. read more

Edward is a superb stylist!!! When I first met him I was broken and desperate, I had not had a haircut in almost a year! You see, my original hair stylist had passed away almost a year and a half ago, after having cut my hair for over 8 years. After his passing I was lost, bouncing from one bad haircut after another, trying new stylist and the latest trends with bad results every time. Not wanting to go through another bad haircut, I just stopped getting my hair cut all together. After almost a year of wearing baseball caps everywhere I went, my brother had the audacity to get married in the middle of my crisis. I asked, if I could wear my hair in a formal pony tail, but he insisted it was either I get it cut or he would ask someone else... With the tenacity of a bull dog I held my ground, up and until the week of the wedding, when he introduced me to the maid of honor for the first time, who had flown in from France. What can I say... My hair was longer than hers and I had less split ends (I used leave in conditioner regularly). She took one look at me and said "No, it's not happening with his long hair". I scowled at her in defiance, but she didn't care. She said she couldn't have a good time at the wedding with someone who looked like they never left the 70's. I told miss blonde thing, that she was no prize with that attitude and that it was going to be a long wedding day. She then grabbed my hand, took me to her micro rental car, and drove around town lost until she found a salon, which happened to be Edward's salon. As we walk in, she instructs Edward on how she wants him to cut my hair. I stood there in defiance, and then she broke me... With a smile on her face and with those big blue eyes, she leans in and whispers in my ear... "I like men with short hair, and my best friend (the bride) says we would make a cute couple at the wedding, and just think of the pictures we could take..." And with that my friends, I was done... Ed gave me the best haircut I had, had in over a year; And I have now been getting my hair cut by him for the last 15 years. And what ever happened to miss blonde thing you ask... I married her 5 years later, we have two kids, and yes, Ed cuts their hair too... read more
