We had an incredible experience working with Edy to cater our 150-person wedding. From day one, he was exceptionally detail-oriented and organized--honestly going above and beyond what you'd expect from a caterer. He felt like part caterer, part wedding planner in the best way. After just a few bites at our tasting, we knew we were in amazing hands. The food is not only absolutely delicious, but also beautiful, unique, and crowd-pleasing. We're still hearing rave reviews from guests weeks later about everything--from the brown paper board to the mains to the signature cocktails and martinis. A family member who watched him set up described him as an artist - individually placing every cucumber, grape tomato, etc. to create the most beautiful, edible canvas. We held our wedding at a private residence, so there were many, many logistics to deal with and lots of rentals to bring in. Edy was a dream to work with throughout the process--super communicative, responsive, and flexible with last-minute tweaks. His team made menu collaboration easy, and he even took care of printing, which made things seamless. On the day of, everything was executed flawlessly, and his team was warm, professional, and efficient. Came here for a pop-up with Diaspora Co and they had this incredible pita-dilla, which featured the spice blend that made for tangy and warm flavors. The portions were enormous and it was so well-cooked. Pastries are delightful. The honey biscuit with everything seasoning on top is delicate and pillowy soft on the inside, crusty on the outside. The Pride month special (biscuit au chocolat) is similarly soft and melt-in-your-mouth worthy. There is a wide selection of spices, Lebanese groceries, merchandise (it's real cute!), and food/coffee options. Highly recommend if you're looking to cook anything that requires spices like shawarma or kebabs. They sell spices and olive oil in jars that you can bring back for a refill at a discounted price. Finally stopped by Edy's Grocer after hearing some great things about it. Everything was quite tasty and I had a lovely weekend day moment here. The cookies were delicious and freshly baked, and I stopped by over the summer to get one of their pride cookies so the proceeds went to supporting the LGBTQ+ community which is great. I forget the name of the dish but the picture is below - that breakfast bread with bread and middle eastern spices decorating it with an over easy egg was a nice way to start the day, not too heavy, and quite delicious. Greenpoint definitely needs more places like this, and FYI you can buy a variety of lebanese groceries as well. The staff were super nice, too, and Edy seems to be a nice guy as well though I didn't get to talk to him. Come check this place out! read more

A new favorite Greenpoint spot! I visited in person once and ordered delivery once (got the same thing both times) and everything was super delicious. The shawarma chicken lavash wrap is fantastic, and the pistachio baklava is perfect. Love that they give you two pieces for $3.50. What a cute place!!! I'd met the owner when he was on his cookbook tour so I was excited to see his place in person. It's quite small but is packed with all kinds of yummy things to eat. The refrigerator case is stocked with spreads and munchies to take home. There are shelves of canned, boxed and bottled items. And they have a menu of delicious things to eat on site. We had the lunch special ($16) which allowed you to pick two things from the menu. We also grabbed a couple of dips to try. The Chicken Shawarma wrap was outstanding and the Tahini Caesar was excellent. They delivered delicious little round breads that were fresh out of the oven to go with the dips. The Baba Ghanoush was nice and chunky with smoky bits of eggplant. But the Muhammara was our favorite. It's is made with roasted red bell peppers and spices, and we ate every bit of it. Went to visit my friend for her birthday in Greenpoint and she chose this as her lunch spot. Edy's Grocer is more of a to-go spot, with minimal tables and chairs set up both inside and out (even in December). Still, it's pretty cute inside, service was fast and friendly and we didn't feel pressure to eat and leave to give up our table as most people here were grabbing things to go. I really couldn't pass up their midweek lunch special, where you can grab two items off their lunch menu (half portions) for just $16. This seemed like the move since trying more stuff is always better, plus I was feeling super indecisive that day. I went with the lahm bi ajin which was a flatbread topped with ground meat, nuts and pomegranate which was incredible. Well seasoned, the right balance of savory and tangy, would recommend trying this for sure. The falafel I had was just alright. We tried their marinated feta dip as well which was delicious, with fresh pita right out of the oven. Definitely recommend this place for lunch if you're in the area and craving something cheap and healthy-ish. read more

We came for dinner at Edy's last night and had a fantastic time. The space is cute, love the pink decor and lemon theme. It's not large however so I would suggest booking and definitely call ahead if you are a large party. The build your own Mezze Board is generously portioned with lots of options. We also had the Lahm Bi Ajin which was very light and tasty. The Chicken Shawarma was on the smaller side, but it was very tender and I really loved the Harissa/Tahini dipping sauce it came with. The cookie plate was a great way to round off our dinner and I had a fantastic glass of Lebanese red wine, very smooth with a rich cherry taste. Our second version was very sweet and attentive and the prices are good especially considering the quality of the food which is simple but well executed. We will definitely stop by again for cakes and coffee and lunch, and we plan on picking up some of their custom spice blends and Lebanese ingredients to use at home. This place is SO yum!!!! My gf and I were hungry after a pool day nearby and she suggested we walk around to some of her fav local spots, as she is a Williamsburg native (I'm a west village gal). I ordered a lebanese quesadilla pita thing (had a cute name) as I love quesadiLLas (Napoleon dynamite) and got one of those probiotic canned bevs with it (lol). They had both inside and outside seating, we decided to go outside since it was a nice day. The food was prepped pretty quickly and it was SO good, I ate all of it and I was still hungry (my appetite was charged from such nummy food, tbh). The crispy and cheesy (haloumi?) cheese was very meaty and substantial. I was super happy with the choice and also it was very price friendly! I told the gal working that it was so good and that Persians have similar things too (like the turkish sweets etc). I went here a couple of days ago for the first time, decor is really nice, lots of pots and crockery and a huge selection of middle eastern food for sale herbs, breads and all manner of good things. My wife and I had the metes plate v good lots of fresh vegetables and dips etc, we then had two mains that we split, a lamb dish with lamb in a puff pastry and we also had a shawarma both were delicious, the server was really great explained everything and had a very nice demeanor. Popped in here while in the area and so glad I did!! The server we had was super friendly and helpful in advising what to order. We also had the ricotta and fig jam bread that was bomb it was so flavorful every single bite was loaded and just delicious. It came out hot and we got it to go but couldn't wait and ended up eating on the walk. We also got the everything honey biscuit and that was amazing, my bf thought we should wait and add some butter at home but I couldn't wait it was too good. I became a fan of Edy's Grocer from attending a Pride event there last year and have always wished I lived closer to be able to eat there regularly! Instead I've treasured the delicious pantry staples I've stocked from them, my favorite being Edy's Everything. I already love everything seasoning, but the aleppo pepper in Edy's takes it up a notch and makes it my favorite thing in my pantry. This past weekend, I got the opportunity to order catering from Edy's for my birthday party. It was hard to even choose what to get from the elaborate menu but I was so happy with my choices -- mezze with crudite, pita, and delicious dips like chili crisp labneh, pomegranate grape leaves, baked falafel bites, a fresh minty couscous salad, and a tahini caesar with spicy breadcrumbs. Edy's food is so fresh and high quality, and so many of the dishes have an extra zesty or crunchy flair that makes them feel both creative and authentic. As a Lebanese person who moved here a few years ago, I was really excited to try Edy's. I was massively disappointed. The storefront is cute with a good selection of Lebanese products. The food was another story. We wanted to sample a few things. We went with the Shawarma Lavash, the Fatteh, and the egg and cheese breakfast empanada. The food was embarassingly overpriced with tiny portions. Everything we tried was not edible. We literally took a few bites of each and threw everything out. There was nothing Lebanese about everything we ate. Bland, flavorless, not fresh/cold. Whatever we ate was definitely not remotely Lebanese in any sense. The shawarma was a lazily crafted chicken salad sandwich, and the Fatteh tasted like cold canned chickpeas. The empanada was dry/bland on the outside and cold on the inside. I really want to like this place. I support Lebanese businesses and I hope they figure out the direction they take the menu and put a little more effort in the future. read more

As a Lebanese gal, I have high expectations for my Lebanese meals. We ordered the spinach pies and veggie/za'atar flatbread (manousheh). Despite their tiny size, the spinach pies were full of yummy flavor! The flatbread was also good; however, I make that at my apartment so it felt a little less special. Its a unique concept for a deli....., with above average ingredients on simple Lebanese food , but not so unique to justify the price point and portion size. If your charitable go spend your money here. I wonder how much these items would cost in a similar deli Lebanese neighborhood/hood in the USA. I was really looking forward to our visit after all of the hype, but learned that's truly all it was. The food was nothing special and SO overpriced. The haloumi cheese skewers were $12 for two. Simply outrageous. Each skewer had 3 bite size pieces of Haloumi cheese and was warmed up in the microwave. Not even edible. The vegetarian cabbage roll was bland and cost a hefty $7 for one! Took 2 bites and threw it in the trash. Same for the zucchini pancake, which was just full of salt. I was here in November so this is a super belated review, but I had to write because I'm seeing some pretty negative takes on Edy's Grocer. Yes, it's pricey. Yes, the portions are on the smaller side. But is it worth it? I think so! The rotating seasonal dishes (we had squash in the fall, fig grilled cheese, and this super cinnamon-y rice dish that my friends said they've only ever had when their moms prepare it) are so yummy AND unlike anything else that can be found in the city. And the standbys like the cheese man'oushe are delicious also. The spot is self described "modern Lebanese," and I think this is such a cool way to present new foods to the area. Food was decent. Ordered the falafel harvest box. Portion was tiny for 15$, and they did not include the pita or sauce. Kind of a disappointment. I will need a second lunch after this "main". If you remember this place as Maria's, it's kind of a bit sad to see it replaced by this joint. Edy's seems to cater to a rich and hip crowd, and might exclude many neighbors who could come in, if prices matched the portions. It seems Edy's went full out with publicity and got themselves lots of media placements; I understand you'd want media clout fame and money for successful restaurant/market, but 15 for three pinna falafel medallions and a scoop of rice may be the wrong road to success? Got delivery for lunch today and was sadly disappointed. 1.) the portion sizes :( $10 for half of a pitadilla and $10 for a small cup of salad is not fun 2.) the salad was so soggy. I'm kind of forcing myself to eat what would otherwise be a delicious salad. 3.) the prices just don't seem to match with the portion sizes. So happy to have this spot in the neighborhood! Got 3 different mezze's: the hummus, tabouleh, and the Garlicy Labneh. Added on some of the large size pita's and had a mezze feast. Everything was delicious!! I also got the baked egg which came in this super cut cup. It was so flavorful from all the different seasonings.
