Last day in New York back the end of March, found us looking for a place to get warm and grab some food while doing our last exploring dash through Times Square. We ducked here to grab some nourishment before I became to hangry. Ordering takes place at the counter then grab a table. I had a 1/2 bowl of their "famous chicken soup" and 1/2 pastrami sandwich. Had good flavor and was enough to warm me up on this brisk morning. My niece did a bagel, and after trying all week she finally got one exactly how she wanted it made. We ate and chilled for a bit, no plans for the day other than making it to the airport to go home. Was able to people watch and catch up without feeling rushed to leave. Saw locals come through, so you know it is a place worth stopping. The staff were nice and even apologized for not being able to give me the soup I wanted in a half order. Though things can often get overlooked and passed by in the hustle and bustle of the city...stop in and relax while you grab a bite to eat. read more

Date of visit: April 14, 2026 Our friend wanted to go to a real New York deli during her first trip to the city and this is the one in the vicinity of Times Square and our evening show that was the highest rated according to my fellow Yelpers, but I am not quite sure why based on our experience. Things did start out great, with Boudjema being very friendly and helpful as we placed our order. And once we got seated, we were able to fully appreciate the vibe, both in the primarily 70s playlist, but also the mirror and brass touches across the restaurant. Food-wise, however, there were some definite opportunities. My Roasted Turkey sandwich did come on quite possibly the best rye bread I have ever had, warm and flavorful. But while the gravy was also good, the turkey was cold. This odd temperature mismatch made it hard to appreciate the generous portion of meat on the sandwich. We also ordered some tater tots and those were quite good. While it definitely could have been worse--and I've had worse in New York City--this also could have been so much better. read more

This place was so chill. I was so quiet and I love that. The look of it was giving "underground clean subway vibes". I also appreciated them having electrical sockets because I was able to charge my phone. Me and my sisters ate here while waiting for the Harry Potter Cursed child to play. I ordered the Margherita Pizza. My Middle sister ordered Pepperoni Pizza. My baby sister ordered a tuna sandwich. My middle sister shared that she thought the middle of the pizza was a bit doughy. My baby sister mentioned her sandwich wdough. My Pizza was doughy too. But it was sooo good! The servers were sweet. I would suggest for them to alert people when they carry hot soup. read more

Stopped in for breakfast. Ordered two everything bagels, one with cream cheese, one with butter and a cup of coffee good value for just $15 that included the tip. There's plenty of seating.. Selecting this place for a pre-theater bite proved disastrous. First time checking it out, there was no table service so you place the order at the counter. Fine. I've done that at other businesses. The menu was on the wall and it was limited to sandwiches, pizza and salads. The woman at the counter was pleasant and helpful. The order was simple: 2 classic (baked) knishes and soda. We were in a time crunch since the weather was unpredictable (thunderstorms) and we didn't want to miss the curtain call of the play we were seeing. Surely our order and time spent would be in and out. Think again. The order was served to the table and my knish was cold inside. I approached who we were told, was the co-owner . He took it away and never came back to what appeared to be eternity. I brought it to his attention at 6:12 and by 6:25 still nothing. Hello microwave? They're not freshly made on site so we couldn't understand why the long wait. When we asked again, the person was abrupt and also rude. This spoiled the other meal and we ultimately asked for a full refund. Done. Dinner ended up being M&Ms and Twizzlers at the theater. Never again. read more

Great Food & Entertainment! This was a great trendy place to go to in New York. Right in the heart of Times Square. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the pastrami sandwich and my husband had what he said to be the best burger he's ever had in his life. We are a military family that travels a lot so that being said, this burger was extraordinary. If we lived in New York, we would be regulars. Had that old fashioned feel but still modern. The entertainment was fabulous! We got to see the Satin Dollz perform. Just the cherry on top! We absolutely love this Deli and highly recommend. We really wish they opened a location in DC. We drove from Maryland to dine here, but totally worth it! Love it! read more

Honestly was expecting more from this restaurant given the grand entrance and the beautifully designed retro diner vibe inside. The pastrami sandwich looked amazing but was okay- nothing spectacular to write home about. Could be made a little bit warmer/hotter too. The hot dog was standard, and I feel like it would've tasted the same if I just ordered from the NY street carts. I don't even know where to begin with the pickle - is it even a pickle?? It sure looked liked it, but barely tasted like one. I can't even really say it tasted like a cucumber either. The one redeeming quality of this place was the fries. Now those were decent thick cut fries. The service was great but the food was mediocre. I don't think I will be coming back but it sure does look cool from the outside. read more

A few weeks ago Jennifer and I lunched at the new Brooklyn Deli Times Square. This restaurant had been opened for a week and the service was top notch. Jennifer ordered the corned beef with both mustard and mayonnaise. Pastrami on rye with mustard was my choice. I also got a small order of French fries which we shared. Both of us drank chilled Mexican cokes. Our food was nicely presented and delicious. The meats on both orders was tender and mouthwatering. This place could easily surpass Katz's which is outrageously expensive. Brooklyn Deli Times Square is a large airy restaurant with bright lights and clean tables. There is a unisex clean restroom at the back. Next time and we are already planning a return visit we will have slices of the delectable looking cheesecakes made on the premises. What a fun, fun place!!! The food was delicious, potato salad out of this world and a delicious delicious hotdog which I was craving! my friend got the pepperoni pizza, huge and delicious! Boudjema was the manager and I want to take him back to Salt Lake with me! What a wonderful young man! Everyone there was upbeat, happy and so damn nice! A lot of the people working there. Stop by to ask us how our meal was and just smile. I'm a sucker for smiles. We ended up staying 2 1/2 hours and caught the satin dollz . Terrific 1940 type singers that out sang the Andrew sisters.!! It was a very affordable place to go in New York, just off seventh 45th! Harry Potter and the cursed child was playing across the street from it ! The best thing, free refills on the drinks , you would think in New York that would never ever happen! They were out of the strawberry cheesecake, so we had carrot cake ! oh my gosh it was delicious! I had a lot of fun here! We came on a night where the Satin Dollz were performing, a trio of beautiful women with fabulous voices that performed an array of old American 40's type tunes with modern day songs as well in the 40s style. I ordered the Reuben - it was good, but I've had better. Their brownie and shakes were great though! The service was super friendly and the place is cute overall. One comment - the corners of the tables have this metal thing that ripped my sweater to shreds. So be careful there if you have a cardigan or knit type sweater on. read more

When traveling check hotel policy on outside food deliveries. We didn't know the delivery person couldn't come in the lobby and leave the food. The delivery person gave the sandwich to someone outside the building. We couldn't get phone reception to communicate with the delivery person. Lesson learned.
