All of the donuts were filled appropriately. My favorite was the lemon. I was not a fan of the cream one too much. I am not sure what kind of cream was used, but it was not sweet enough. Stopped in this morning for a few donuts. I've been told the prices have increased a lot and most of my family and friends no longer go there. They weren't kidding! I know the cost of everything has gone up, and I understand the effects the pandemic and increase costs have made for small businesses, but their prices are ridiculous! They freeze a lot of their products and they're decent baked goods, but they're not as good as they used to be. I loved looking at all of the beautiful cookies, pastries and cakes :) I wanted one of almost everything! We picked up my daughter's cupcakes (vanilla cake w/ chocolate icing) and I got 4 large sugar cookies as well. The cupcakes were DELICOUS! Nice, thick chocolate buttercream icing and moist & fresh cake. Soooo good!!!! The sugar cookies were a bit softer than I usually like but I still enjoyed mine. (Could have been a bit sweeter too). Quest for the Holy Doughnut aka Doughnut Quest: Part I Great 1950's bakery which happens to have doughnuts. Yeah! I'm on a quest for custard filled maple long johns, and while they don't have them, they DO have incredible doughnuts. $.89/each; we bought a custard filled, glazed, and cinnamon. These are not the super light and airy version, nor the cake version. They're kind of a denser version of the light and airy variety, with lots of real sugar and a good 1/4C of custard--I'm not joking. It was oozing out and so good. After returning to the car we realised that we needed milk, so back inside for a container of milk, $.89. I won't joke--my teeth were chattering from the sugar, but I was happy. I didn't need to try the other 2, but did anyway, for science! A great find, and they're open both early and late every day except Monday: Tuesday-Saturday 6AM-8PM Sunday 6AM-6PM. Nice people, and while you're in the parking lot stuffing your face, will notice a revolving stream of pastry lovers heading in slightly grumpy and walking out with a childish smirk. If a couple has returned to their car, the one in the passenger seat will be snacking on one of the pastries prior to putting their seatbelt on. Will definitely return. read more

The long creme filled doughnut...words can't really describe how good this is, but I'll do my best to give an accurate description. With your first bite you break through the ever so slightly crispy exterior into the light but well textured interior. Sweet creme that dances precariously on the edge of cloying oozes over your tongue. From there, nearly every bite is filled with creme. I went back inside and bought a dozen. I couldn't let this discovery go unheralded. Even at 99c each/$5.50 half doz/10.99 doz they are worth every penny. The counter girl helped me pick out a delish cherry danish. It was the usual combo of white flour + icing + cherry pie filling. And I also got half a loaf of 'Raisin Nut' bread. Fabulous. Crusty, dense, dark, and moist. I toasted the oblong slices as best as I could. On the toast went some organic butter. I let it melt for a couple of two three seconds. Intermission The first chew was so extraordinarily refined, for a humble piece of toast, that I muted the television. I am being serious. It is the reason that I am giving this stranger a 5 star rating, and scribing this melodramatic review. For donut lovers, it's the best place in town or most any other town. Like many of the others, I'm partial to the cream filled, although they're more a bar than a donut, but they're awesome no matter what the shape. I usually buy two of them--one for eating on the way to the car and another for eating at home. Their cakes are so good that you want everyday to be someone's birthday. The guy that served me said the cashiers name, and said "he only has 1." It was fresh, and the best part of it was the dough. The cream consistency was buttery, and not the scratch (slightly gritty) type that I prefer. I would have actually given this bakery 3.5 stars if yelp offered half stars, but I didn't want to unfairly drag their overall rating down so 4 stars it is! I ordered a few items including a blueberry glazed donut, lemon bar, and spinach/feta pastry. The donut was a little bit dry but had a good balance of flavor with sweet and salty. The lemon bar just wasn't tart enough for my taste. The spinach and feta pastry was the most disappointing because it looked so beautiful with an intricate pattern in the pastry, but it was bland in flavor. The price point was great and I will definitely continue to support this local bakery. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong items. read more

My friend has always hyped up the donuts from here so I was really excited to try them. The interior of the bakery is very...neglected? It seemed like only 1/2 the building was in use. The display case is super old school and there are tons of pastries, cookies, and other baked goods. Non of the items have a label so if you don't know what something is, you gotta ask. I came here for the donuts, specifically the long creme filled. I got an assortment of 4, and it was all under $5 which is not too bad. The long creme one was definitely the best out of all of them. The cream was light and sweet which paired well with the yeast dough. The glazed and boston creme were okay, and I wasn't a big fan of the apple fritter, it just seemed lacking in flavor and a little dry. Overall, the donuts were average. If I came back, I'd pick up different pastries out of the display case. And get more creme filled donuts. read more

We tried going here for donuts. They're great. Then we grabbed some rolls for a holiday. Also great. Then someone recommended them for a birthday cake and I contacted them to do a design for me. I emailed them what I wanted and got a very reasonable, very delicious, and very beautiful cake for my 1 year old's cake smash. My daughter's birthday cake was much more complex, and when I sent a photo the estimate was slightly higher than what I was expecting. The cake decorators and Tracy worked with me to figure out what was important, how many people we needed to feed, and if we could modify it slightly to better meet what I wanted budget wise. They're fantastic at following up with you, they pay attention to detail, and the cakes are always exceeding my expectations. After chasing birds around for a couple hours this spring morning I stopped here for a donut to set myself up for a mid-day nap. The cream donut is truly fantastic. The dough part is a little stretchy and soft and not too sweet, and the cream filling is superb: slightly heavier than stiff whipped cream, slightly lighter than cake frosting, sweet, white, and airy. I bought one and ate it in the parking lot, then went right back in for another one to put in the freezer in case of a cream donut emergency. The Boston cream was good, too, but I threw out the unfrosted cake donut because it smelled and tasted like movie popcorn butter. They must use butter-flavored shortening or something: the epitome of nast. The ladies running this old-school bakery are the sweetest, the people alone are reason enough to support this local bakery. The bakery has lots of options from donuts to cookies to pastries to cold items like cannolis, all displayed behind classic glass cases. Also, the prices are extraordinarily reasonable and on the very inexpensive side. I had one of the long cream donuts plus three small cannolis, even though I wanted to purchase and eat all of the items in the bakery. The cream donut was absolutely perfect. The cream was delicious and soft, but not heavy at all. The donut itself was very yummy, not greasy but just the best consistency for a donut. The cannolis were equally as delicious. I've lived up the street from this bakery for 8 years. I've only stopped in here and there, but let me tell you... THEY ARE INCREDIBLE! They are famous for their cream donut. And yes, it earns that right. It is truly heavenly! A must try when you go there. They have very fresh and yummy breads, rolls, and of course cakes.
