Lovely local bakery with tons of baked goods options such as fresh bread and desserts. They are limiting how many people can be at the store at any given time which I really appreciate. This review is based on the deli side only. The pastry side is delicious 5 stars. Great pies and donuts. Ok back to my review. I got a hoagie today. Yes eat gud makes hoagies now. The price was reasonable. $4.99 for a 6 inch hoagie with a small side salad. I got potato salad which was tasty. The roll was stale which wasn't like eat gud since their bread is usually fresh and they were sold out of French baguettes. I got londonport roast beef which was tasty but was lacking in quantity. They weigh out their meat to only 3oz of meat for 1 meat per sandwich. They use boars head meat which I prefer but for some reason the majority of sandwich shops in Hamilton don't carry. So all in all good tasting meat but not enough of it. Hopefully on my next visit they get rid of their weighing out policy and provide more meat. I went in two days ago just before closing. I spent almost $30 but my purpose for going there was long john donuts. They only had chocolate filled but I said fine. When i got home to ewing, too far to go back and they were closed anyway, I found that my 1/2 dozen donuts were stale....I mean like day old, shouldn't have been on the shelf stale. The owner should be embarrassed for having sold these. Very disappointed. It doesn't matter how nice the service is, if the goods aren't fresh! Buyer beware. read more

Not as good as you would expect. I ordered a sheet cake and I said something to someone when buying it, how long would it last. they told me it would last at least a week. The cake was like a rock the next day. It was not made fresh that day. More like a week before I bought it. Donuts are not much better either. At least they lasted a day longer then the cake. This place is not as good as it use to be 10 years ago. It's getting worse. Time for new owners to step in. Update 5-13-2018 : new owners have taken over and my how this place has changed. They have even added extra hours and have redone the sidewalks. Food is way better then it was. Finally a good bakery in the area. 3 stars for now to see how things go. read more

Ok, this bakery is old school and I mean OLD school. The baked goods have no tags and most no prices, so you need to get familiar with what things are or just be adventurous and start pointing at stuff like I did and buy it! Trust me you won't be sorry. The cream doughnut is amazing, super light and smooth. I've never had a doughnut like this. The sour cream doughnut was slamming too. Just do it. This place is great. Really nice people. I got all doughnuts: glazed, Boston cream and their long cream specialty. They were all delicious. The glazed was moist and just the right amount of 'crispy'. Boston cream--moist, and the cream is just right, not too sweet. And their long cream--forget about it. I go to Eet Gud usually once a week or every other week before work. It's about 15 minutes out of my way but I don't care, I love their doughnuts. I have dreamed about my favorite, the chocolate icing with coconut. I've been on vacation in a land far, far away desperate to get home and have one. I need to go more. I have to say that I wish I knew about this bakery sooner. Do not let the outdated decour fool you, their baked goods are amazing. Went in the other night, about an hour before closing and everything looked really tasty. I ended up getting their 7 layer square fudge chocolate cake. It was moist, looked really nice, and full of great chocolate flavor. I was also told by the guy that was working behind the counter to come back earlier in the day to check out their donuts, which will be my next visit. Incredibly expensive prices. $3.99 for a mini bear claw is crazy- and they don't post the prices anywhere. I never would have bought one if I knew they cost that much. My husbad came home the other morning and suprised me with donuts from Eet Gud, it has been months since we had been here. He brought all the ones we used to love and they were amazing. Just like they had always been. The cream filling so light and sweet. The dough yeasty and a little crispy just delicious. Raised my review a star, we have not tried a cake since my last review, however, I love what I see on Facebook and your website, so when the occasion arrises I will be stopping by. This review is specific to their deli area. Several times I've ordered lunch meat (by the pound) and have been disappointed in the outcome. Despite my requesting a thicker slice, whatever I order tends to come out too thin. This is even the case when ordering cheese. I mean, who asks for paper-thin American cheese that sticks together?? On another outing I ordered liverwurst. I saw two different types in the case, one was low-fat and the other regular. When I saw the piece of low-fat missing from the case after walking over to look at the pastries, I asked the person behind the counter to be sure I was getting the regular variety. She assured me I was. Once home, I opened the liverwurst and it was clearly marked "low-fat" on the wrapping. I despise being lied to, especially by a business that expects a repeat customer. read more

Just had donuts from here for the first time and have to say I was very disappointed. I don't know if this bakery has new owners because I hear their long filled cream donuts use to be the best. I am so happy I only picked up three and did not waste my money on any more, but very disappointed because I was really looking forward to a good cream filled donut. The donut itself seemed fresh, however tasted very artificial. The butter cream is definitely not homemade , it is definitely comes in made already. It tasted pasty and artificial. And on top of it was really tiny and little filling. The butter cream filling that it did have was awful. If you want to make a good filled cream donut you have to make your own cream fillings or it ruins the whole donut . First and last time there. read more

Number one thing here is their buttered rolls in the morning. Soooo freaking good! Their cookies and donuts are just as good.

I don't get the hype. Plus the older lady there wasn't very patient when I asked her what was a good thing to try...I know I didn't let that affect how I tasted the stuff (i got the infamous creme filled donut thing), but it still was ok. I remember being in elementary school and someone brought in the cupcakes for their birthday and everyone was raving while I thought they tasted dry and flavorless. Their creme donuts are a fan favorite, but my personal fav is the cannoli cream cake. To me, this confection invention is pure perfection (phew, say that 10 times fast!) There are perpetual rumors that Eet Gud is closed down or sold and those rumors have ALWAYS been FALSE. They are still open for business and under the same ownership for as long as I can remember. I found the Eet Gud Bakery in Hamilton, NJ here through Yelp. I was looking for decent, fresh doughnuts but got there late and most had been sold out (which I actually was expecting). I instead opted for some pastries. I bought a small cannoli, 2 palmiers (elephant ears), and 1 cream stick. The cannoli with chocolate chips was fresh and unctuous, just the right size for a small treat. The palmier was flaky and fresh with just the right amount of sweetness. I am saving the cream stick for a late night snack with coffee while I watch a movie tonight. The ladies were super nice and the shop was clean and neat. The selection of cookies and pastries is expansive and you are sure to find something to suit your taste. read more
