As a resident of Carlsbad, this is the new company our city outsources the disposal of hazardous…read morewaste to. It used to be Clean Harbors but they've apparently lost the contract. Since the switch, this was the first time we used PSC and I'm happy to report, the service was pain-free and super convenient. If you have hazardous waste such as old batteries, unused paint, florescent light bulbs etc, you can drop it off at one of two locations; Vista or Oceanside -- or you can call to schedule a door-to-door pick up. For us, it's more convenient to do the later. For door-to-door service, there is a $10 fee and you must call PCS to schedule an appointment. They're usually a good week or two out. While some may balk at the $10 pick up fee, in my opinion, I feel it's money well spent because I know that the materials will be disposed of safely and all I have to do is place the items at the curb along with a check. I placed our items out early this AM and within a few hours, they were here to pick it up without issue. Note: There is a weight limit but even after a few of our neighbors added things, we have never been close to the 125 pound limit. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because of the delay in scheduling the service. I just wish you didn't have to wait 1-2 weeks for them to come out but..that's just me being impatient.
