This time around, HOA told us to paint our house. Well, yeah! Da humble abode severely needed a fresh coat of paint. Chica went on a search and found McCarthy Painting. I followed up and checked reviews. They're legit licensed, bonded and do good work. Fast forward to the first day Armando and Andres started the job. They consulted with me and confirmed the features of the dwelling and the specific colors set for them from Sherwin Williams pallet for this model. Shout out to the lone faux shutter feature in da back of da house. *rolling eyes*. These guys communicated clearly the job and the specifics to be done. They explained to me the way they will paint the eaves and gutters (a little different from the original paint patterns). I'm good with that. That actually matches what all the neighbors did with their new paint jobs. Armando and Andres got right to work starting with the power washing for day one. The humble abode might have sighed a great sigh of relief when they did this. Gone are the tree sap, chimney soot, dust and pollen stains. Next day, cover up and protect. Then next 2 days paint all large surface areas and most of the trim. Day 4 finish all trim and doors. Last day, touch ups. These guys work hard and thoroughly. We are so happy and relieved to have the house painted right with the correct premium paint - Sherwin Williams. Looking over the humble abode now... She looks polished and beautiful. Take that HOA! The quote they gave us was the best value when compared to others in the area. After the initial clean they also offered to replace broken tiles and seal the roof to prevent future damage. All the prices were very reasonable and the workers were professional, detail oriented and communicative. The worker even walked with us around the home to see if he had missed any spots. 10/10 job, loved working with the team, and love the results! I was very worried about my sandstone walkway that leads to my door, but they were very careful and gentle with it, while still getting the dirt off. Fito Parra arrived on time, with a truck that held a lot of really specialized equipment; this wasn't a side-job, but a profession, and I could tell that he really cared about what he was doing. He was able to get tough stains out on a patio that had not been cleaned for probably 15+ years. I had bought a power washer from BestBuy and tried to do it myself, but it took me an entire Saturday to literally do a quarter of what he did in almost four hours. Fito/KC Power Clean uses steam, some light chemicals (or you can say no) and industrial power wash equipment. I was also very impressed by how he cleaned the dirt splatter off the walls, and did an excellent job. My driveway and patio looked brand new! Kevin followed up asking how the service went, and sending me before and after pictures, which was another professional touch. I'd recommend looking at their Youtube channel and watching what these guys are about. They seem to take care of their employees, their customers, and are growing the business, which is nice to see. I could have paid someone else less to use Lowes/HomeDepot pressure wash equipment and chemicals or simple green, and my patio would have looked just a bit better. But considering this is licensed, insured, and the equipment on the truck was professional (for example, they have some motor on it that heats the water to make the steam, and a machine that could wind the hose back up), I felt that there was significant value. I describe at the bottom of this message just how difficult this job was . They exceeded my expectations. Alex who did the work was professional, friendly, efficient and very hard-working. Communication before the job was very good and the quote was in line with the price. I'm very pleased with the work. This was not your average gutter and roof cleaning project. There were layers of pine needles on the roof and in the gutters. The gutters are a weird design and built into the eaves. He had to work from underneath and from the house side to get to them. The downspouts were completely clogged with pine needles. He had an amazing array of tools and hoses that made the job possible. It had not been cleaned in decades. They were weeds growing out of the top of the gutters and onto the roof - the layering of pine needles was so heavy. Alex pulled them out and even they had Roots that extended down into the downspouts. Again, I couldn't be more happy.

When we started, we only knew what we didn't like about our current kitchen. Like any major…read moreproject, we started by reaching out to a couple of vendors to get quotes, that's where we met Alon, the project manager for Lumina Builders. What immediately stood out to us was that he had ideas and solutions to address our pain points and make enhancements, we wouldn't have ever considered, and didn't just wait for us to tell him how we wanted things. He created a vision for us in that first quote visit. The other contractor we spoke to didn't provide any ideas just asked us how we wanted it. It was a very easy decision to go with Alon and Lumina Builders. Our project was estimated to take 2-3 months and ultimately took two and a half months to complete. We designed a brand new kitchen, addressing all of our concerns and adding a few recommendations from Alon to streamline some areas. They ripped everything out aside from the flooring and walls. We got brand new custom cabinets, custom lighting, and new countertops. Our fridge was moved to a new, more accessible area. Our sink was shifted down to align with the stove for continuity sake (never realized how much I hated it being in a corner previously). We had a new little cabinet built in our little breakfast nook area and we had an appliance garage built to house everything that took up counter space. Everything is so much brighter and more open and, even though we know the demensions are roughly the same, it feels so much wider. We are ecstatic with how everything came out. Alon is a genius. He was responsive to us throughout the project, checking in weekly to see how things were going, giving us peace of mind throughout this process, as first time remodelers. We were indecisive about the primary cabinet color (I was very worried we'd be stuck with something we didn't really like) but he worked with the cabinet makes to give us several samples to choose from. He was very patient with us. We LOVE how everything turned out! We'll definitely be using Lumina Builders for all of our future projects.

He was the only one who detailed every item involved in the bid, including update of irrigation. I've had issues in the past with bids for other projects that I assumed included the little details but didn't and then I had to pay extra. Michael's bid included every detail in writing that you would assume would be a part of a new lawn job and it was very reasonable. He also showed up on time for the initial appointment! His crew was great! Their work was very detailed and clean. The job was done within three days and all of the work area, including the driveway, was cleaned up. They even noted my falling-apart fence gate so Michael gave me a very reasonable quote and they did a great job fixing it for me. There were a lot of details for after-care and I've texted Michael multiple times to confirm. He texts back quickly and I never get the impression he's annoyed (I've sent a lot of texts!). I almost wish I had more yard renovations so that I could hire him again! I did discuss a whole-yard mulch job and will absolutely hire Michael when I'm ready for that.
