    Matcha Egg Puff

This spot is a Chinatown staple, and I remember coming here even as a kid. So happy to see the lady is still creating her yummy egg puffs. It's located in the back of a food court, so while it seems unassuming at first, it's worth searching for. She's added a lot of flavors over the years, so the prices range between $4.50- $7 now (a tad expensive for what it is, but they're handmade). Also, it's cash-only. I highly recommend their original flavor, but if you're feeling experimental, their matcha & red bean ones are great too :)

Had a great convo with the lady running the small stand. hot, fresh, and delicious egg puffs.

A must go stop whenever I am in Chinatown! A lightly sweet, fragrant, crispy exterior soft fluffy interior, delicious egg puff. The auntie making it is always nice and quick. She has expanded her flavors a lot since opening but my favorite is still the classic. It is inside of a plaza at the end of the hall. You will see her cart and the signage.

Hot and delicious egg puff waffle from the egg puffy lady in Chinatown. Small shops and stands do it best!

CASH ONLY, ranges from $4-$7, but the best hidden gem in Chinatown for a quick sweet treat! It's always made-to-order! So expect a little wait for fresh goodies. Looks like they added new flavors but I couldn't resist the original. It's just so good, lightly sweet, fluffy with a little bit of crisp on the outside. Actually regretted not getting more than just 1, because once I walked out the door, it was gone. (All in my belly hehe)

Cute little egg puff stand in a small food court. The prices range from $4-$8 for egg puff waffles. The lady only takes cash. It was a lot of fun watching her create the egg puffs and they are really tasty. If you want a dessert that isn't too sweet or a snack, I highly recommend coming here. There may be a wait because people also love her egg puffs too!

Yay! Still here after all these years. I used to come here and get a bag of fresh delish puffs & you still can. $4 7 days a week Many flavors

visited the egg puff lady the other day! her stall was at the back of a food court but there's a sign outside with her logo so it was easy to find! the egg puff was really nice! i tried it warm but it was still a little doughy so i waited a few mins and it tasted way better! i def recommend it wasn't too sweet either

Get your freshly made waffles here: The hole-in-the-wall location can be tricky to find. In the heart of Chinatown, Boston, you'll find the Egg Puffs cart in the tiny cafeteria. Regardless, it's a MUST VISIT spot for dessert! For $3.50 each (with other flavors for different prices), you'll be paying for a giant waffle cooked on the spot. Tear them into bites and share with friends. Or, as I did, shove the whole thing in your mouth like a T-Rex. I'm personally not too heavy on sweets, so the egg puffs were enough to satisfy the craving. Not too sweet, freshly cooked, and not soggy whatsoever. You'll be surrounded by other pastry shops in the area that package their goods. I do suggest supporting the Egg Puffs cart for a warm and toasty dessert! Please help out local businesses during this time. These heavenly creations deserved to be discovered and loved. Plus, it'll help our local community grow!

Love this little way back-in-the-already-tiny-and-narrow-food-court (corridor is more accurate) egg puff stand. Prices are quite reasonable - especially for Boston. $4 egg puff as a base before any fillings. Personally have enjoyed the Nutella and salted egg versions - both were great. Warm, soft, chewy with a savory and sweet combo that just hits. It's not overwhelmingly heavy and the lightness makes a great dessert to eat while you walk around Chinatown - works even better with some boba next door. Good filling pastry for a great price and made by a sweet, hard-working lady in a tiny stall - what's not to like?

Cooking area is completely covered via a transparent divider (can you see some reflection?) aka COVID-safe :3!

Getting egg waffles was one of those spur of the moment decisions and I was not disappointed! I actually couldn't find this place at first because it wasn't a stand-alone store - it's actually just a small cart inside a place called the "Food Court". I expected the food court to be big with ample seating, but instead it was really cramped with very few seating options. Nonetheless, that did not stop me from waiting the 5 or so minutes for the lady to make me some fresh egg waffles. They came out great! They were well cooked on the outside, yet super moist and soft on the inside. There is also something immensely satisfying about prying apart each individual ball and popping them in your mouth. I don't know if it's because of COVID specifically, but there is a really tall, transparent divider separating the customer from the cooking area (see photo). Even without taking into account COVID, I'm glad that they use a separate for general hygiene purposes. The minor downside is that (like many other establishments in Chinatown), it is cash only. Either way, it was $3.50 well spent!

** Cash only Egg Puffs is a hole in the wall located inside a mall in Chinatown. They have several different flavors, pretty unique flavors. We got the classic flavor and thought it was just okay.. Egg puff was quite dry, consistency was dense, and sweetness can be sweeter. Classic Flavor - $4

In Cantonese, it's pronounced "gai dahn jai," literally meaning little chicken eggs! One of the oldest food I've eaten in Chinatown - 20 years! There is no place in Chinatown that makes its egg puffs as good as this little cart shop! To find this cart: When you walk up the steps to the brick building, walk through the double glass doors and keep going straight until you hit a dead end. That's where the cart is parked! The egg puffs have a specific sweet and egg taste. They're crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The person there does make some and leave them out to make more, so ironically, you'd want to come during a time when there are some people lining up before you. Then you can get the ones that are just baked! :) The egg puffs are $3.50 a bag, cash only.

After looking around for spots that had burgers, we ended up at Crazy Good Kitchen! They're located on Newbury St and we were able to snag a parking spot right outside. It was not too busy the day we visited & we were seated immediately. They have a QR Code to scan at each corner of their tables to see their menu. Menu is pretty small, imo. Not too many options for burgers. We ended up getting the following to try: - Double trouble burger (2 patties) - 3 chicken tenders + fries (Parmesan dip + parm truffle fries) Thoughts: Chicken tenders themselves had no flavor. Used a lot of ketchup + parm dip sauce. Chicken was cooked well though. The tenders were juicy and not dry at all. We wished the fries were crispier. For the burger, we requested for two patties. Wish bacon was crispier; they gave a good amount of bacon but it was very oily and soft. Patties were cooked to our liking. Thought it was not bad & much better than the chicken tenders. We left Crazy Good Kitchen SUPER full. Our server was awesome! She was attentive and efficient. I don't think I would be back though. I didn't find the food to be "crazy good" at all but just okay.

They were the dark horse that I never would have thought about ordering normally. Biscuits for dinner? Eh. But they were delicious and lighter than expected and the pimento cheese I could have ate by the spoonfuls. The oysters were clean and delicious. Everything you hope to have from Northeast oysters especially being from Texas where most of the places here serve Gulf oysters that don't even come close to comparing. I could have drank the mignonette. The pimento mac n cheese was on point and flavorful (and again that pimento cheese, yum). The wagyu burgers were so good. The burger was tender and flavorful, the bread was soft and light and slightly sweet, and the onion ring added a great texture to the mix. Think of a amped up western burger. The ambiance was a cool vibe yet a home feel. We were seated quickly but it took awhile for anyone to acknowledge us. Service was good once it started and the food came out quickly. If we ever make it back to Boston, it will definitely be on our list to revisit. Great late dinner spot. Simple foods done right. (Oh, and the drinks were delicious. I wanted to try them all.
