I decided to go to eggholic for something unique to try while in Louisville. Up on entering the restaurant the interiors were a simple, but inviting decor. I tried the lava pulav with a side of roti, it wasn't bad but it also wasn't my favorite. The dishes had plenty of spices in it but it lacked in flavor. Also there was more rice in this dish than anything else, so it didn't seem like a good ratio of rice to other ingredients in my opinion. If I'm ever in the area again I would like to try other dishes at this recipe because I like the concept of the restaurant, but I wouldn't try the lava pulav again. read more

I had them on my list to try for a while but am never in this part of town anymore. I ordered online and came for pickup. They have chicken on the menu but they have a lot of options for vegetarians. We ordered the Holic chicken kabob with rice, boiled eggs in tikka masala (mild spice), samosas, and a side of paratha. The chicken kabob was spicy! Probably just a bit spicier than medium heat. And the tikka masala was mild but tasted more like medium heat. Everything was delicious! Good flavors but the kabob didn't come with much rice. Not even a whole cup. The staff was nice when I came for pickup. They seemed friendly. They do have a different variety of items on the menu so I'd still recommend folks check them out! read more

We have seen this restaurant many times when in the area or looking for food, but never stopped in until today. And boy, were we missing out! Eggholic is a fast casual restaurant that was quick, affordable and absolutely delicious! It was perfect four our late breakfast. I had the Masala Half Fry. OMG! This was such a flavorful dish! I got it medium spice level, which was great, but I am great with spicy and could go even hotter next time. My wife got the French toast. We have never had a savory French toast, and it did not disappoint! I cannot wait to get an order for myself next time. I did not get the name of the person who served us, but he was incredibly friendly. We talked a little bit about where in India he is from. He was very helpful and the service was top notch. The food came out quick, the Indian bread was piping hot and fresh off the griddle. And o cannot emphasize enough how making the chai was. I have had it several times, including my time in India and I have never had a better cup of chai. I also loved the interior. There is a lot of seating, it was comfortable and is perfect for large groups or couples alike. If you are looking for an Indian take on breakfast (and if you're not you should be!), there can be no place better than Eggholic for amazing Indian street food dishes that will turn you into an Eggholic too! Very Disappointing Experience After a 9-hour drive, I spent over $60 expecting a satisfying meal, but it was a complete disappointment. I ordered dal tadka, which was shown with rice, but received dal makhani with no rice included. The chicken dish was bland--just boiled chicken in a tomato-based sauce with no real flavor. Even worse, the naan was burnt and clearly not fresh. It seemed like frozen pita bread that was reheated on a stove and overcooked. It's a shame to even call that naan. Most Indian restaurants include rice or roti with entrées, but here, they served just curry. For the price and quality, this felt like a scam. I honestly feel a refund is deserved. I don't fully understand the name of Eggholic, but I definitely enjoyed the food! For an Indian place that specializes in vegetarian breakfast and lunch Eggholic seems an odd name, but there's almost certainly something I'm missing. Regardless, after a quick look at the menu, it seemed like a good option for lunch. The food was quick and excellent! I was in and out in under 25 minutes and had a tasty paneer masala sandwich with very fresh vegetables and mild spice. The chips were standard Lays and the salty crisp was a solid companion to the grilled sandwich. The room is well organized, tidy, and the paint all looked fresh. The tables, however, were sticky. I didn't touch all of them because I didn't want to look like a maniac, but the couple that I sampled definitely had some tack. Order taking was fast but curt. It was so fast that I wasn't even able to tip due to the screens being bypassed so quickly. Eggholic is definitely going to fit into my lunch rotation! read more

Forgot to review this when I went April 2022, found this pic. It's a great unique place! I'm guessing this is Dosa Omelet, not sure though. Just an omelet filled with indian stuff and some roti. Eggholic is what may be the most unique breakfast dining experience in the entire city of louisville. Located off hurstbourne lane this is a Indian street food breakfast establishment. Walking into this establishment and they got a couple really cool wall murals and some incense candles burning. You walk to the counter and place your order then receive a number and pick out a table. The menu is very different from anything me or my wife have every tried. To expand our Food pallets we sampled the menu pretty good. I went with a Anda Masala Sandwich served spicy for my main meal. It had great flavor and a nice kick to it. The bread was very fresh and the meat sauce mixed with the egg had a great flavor. Not a very big sandwich but very tasty. My wife and I shared a French toast as well. French toast was pretty good. They do not have syrup as this is not a traditional breakfast establishment. They did have a green sauce with it that I will refrain from butchering the name of. My wife enjoyed The sauce. Me I preferred without it. Hard to explain the flavor of sauce as I've never had anything like it before. My wife got a Floating Omelette which she said was amazing and what I would describe as a egg and cheese enchilada with the spicy sauce topping. She got several pieces of toast that Is used for dipping up all the extra sauce on top of the omelette. She was a huge fan and said it was great. My youngest daughter got a chocolate and cheese sandwich. Yes you heard that right. Me and the wife shared it with her and it was outstanding. To me it tasted like a Nutella sandwich with a bit of saltiness. So if you are a fan of sweet and salty tastes, you will be a fan of This. I got to admit seeing chocolate with shredded cheese sprinkles on it was kinda odd. But it worked! Very good. The person who took our order and served us was actually the owner. Super nice and accommodating guy. He actually the owner of another local owned business in happy liquors. His kindness, approachability and great service makes it even easier to want to support local and hope they do well. Not to mention I fell like they offer something nobody else in the city does and it's actually very tasty. Overall, This is a place Lousiville should be excited for. The food was too spicy for me to eat, but it was right up my hubby's alley. When they realized I couldn't eat the spicy food - she brought us two complimentary sweet Lassies and prepared a simple scrambled egg for me. I thought that was a very nice gesture on their part. The service was good. The ambience was nice until two screaming kids showed up and their parents just let them scream from the top of their lungs and our ears were piercing so we had to leave. Basically, this place doesn't have it together yet. We'd been waiting for this place to open and were excited to try it. Of course it's clean and neat inside...it's brand new. The table legs are in very inconvenient places, you hit you knees every time you try to slide into the booth. I don't typically write a lot about the service unless it is amazing or something poor. In this case, it was poor. The staff were MORE than friendly, but they had no idea how to use the iPad to take the order. It took 15 minutes to wait for the man to find each item we ordered. It was a little weird and almost comical and confusing. We ordered a paneer masala sandwich, pani-puri, two eggs, canned drinks, sweet yogurt drinks, chutneys, and French toast. The Indian dishes were very tasty (sandwich, pani-puri, yogurt, and chutneys.) However, the eggs and French toast were awful. The eggs were not cooked! Very gross. This was a hidden treat that I wouldn't have found if it weren't for the Yelp Elite event. I love Indian food but didn't know this place was here and probably wouldn't have found it based on the name. I got the chicken masala sandwich which was flavorful, sized just right, and came with a bag of Lay's. What happened to this place it was my third visit for this place. Every time it going down as far as service, food , consistency. Ok I went for lunch at Eggholic on 22 September 2023. First of all it was slow I mean no tables at all and no music. The front food ordering section was unattended. I waited for like may be 7 to 9 minutes finally I ring the bell on the counter. A gentlemen came from kitchen to take my order. I wanted paneer wrap but he said we are out of paneer. It alright I said instead I ordered 2 Chicken Masala Wrap and Deschutes IPA my bills was like 16$ without tax. I went to grab a tables which 3 of them were dirty not been clean or sanitize. The one choose was dirty too but I clean it with paper and got my self comfortable. After that I noticed the table was sticky I mean literally sticky. My food was ready and the same person got my food to my table. I finished it it's was flavorful and I enjoyed it but for me it was little be salty than usual. The wraps were undercooked but it's ok I eat it. But my point was nobody bothered to check with me how was my food and do I need anything. I finished my food and left. It's a very good concept I have been living in louisville for last 5 years I have seen the city growing and evolving. I went to Eggholic when it opened and was really excited about the concept and the food. The ambiance has a lot of vibrate colours and the wall has some Indian Bollywood dialogue portrait in a very funny and foodie way. First visit to Eggholic. I ordered the Chicken Pulav, asked for them to make it spicy. They did not disappoint, dish was seasoned very well. Great food!!!!! The dinning area is average and probably seats upwards of 60-70 people comfortably. There's plenty of parking, business shares parking with Malibu Jacks and other great businesses. Eggholic recently opened in the strip mall off Hurstbourne and Bunsen Way. This is actually a franchise based out of Chicago. The concept with this restaurant is utilizing eggs in Surat street food. Surat is a city in India, in the state of Gujarat. Now the interesting part about this restaurant is it I'm Gujarati, and I have never heard of this style of cuisine. A lot of folks in India especially Gujarat tend to be vegetarian. Many of them do not eat eggs. So this type of cuisine was very new to me. However, in Surat, this type of cuisine is a delicacy. It's all about the combination of spices. The menu has a lot of options: some involve eggs, some involve chicken, and some involve street food favorites like grilled sandwiches. These are items you're not going to find at any of the other Indian restaurants that I've discussed or that we have in town. Thanks to a yelp event I was able to try the Anda masala sandwich. This was an incredible mix of flavors. Think an Indian spiced egg salad, with a grilled cheese, tomato, bell pepper, lettuce in a sandwich. It's paired with chips and some ketchup. The flavor combination was out of this world tasty. I've never had anything like it. I also got the Surti gotalo. It was a spiced curry topped with two eggs. I had it with the rotli (bread) and it was delicious. The atmosphere is hip and trendy. The murals are adorable. This is all counter service, and very inviting. I may have dreams about the sandwich, and I'll have to try my favorite samosa chaat here next time or some ice cream. read more

Since this place is essentially 'in it's infancy' and has not been open that long I will somewhat temper my review. We went there today as a sponsored Yelp Elite Event and it could have been a much more positive experience. The establishment was clean and organized; however, hygiene and cover safety protocols were lax. None of the staff wore masks and several of the kitchen staff that handled and prepared food had no gloves or coverings over their facial hair. The wait for our take out was exceptionally long; over 30 minutes. My daughter ordered with us and she did not get her order for an additional 15 minutes. This is unacceptable for people on a 30-60 minute lunch break. It's difficult to judge the food since I am not a fan of anything resembling egg salad. My sandwich consisted of that, raw peppers/onions and a bit of tomato. The highlite of the takeout was the bag of chips. This place is going to have to up its game to survive in the competitive Louisville restaurant scene. read more
