What a sweet place to grab lunch with coworkers! I must admit I should've taken PTO because I need a nap after this meal. The service was quick and attentive. As soon as we came in we were sat and the drink order started. Our server was kind and answered any question we had about the menu. Inside is very calm and relaxing. You don't feel rushed but the service is quick without making it feel like they are trying to get you up and out of there. Now the food was delicious!! I have been to Bombay a few time and it is probably my favorite Indian place in town, the food is 5 stars*****. The service is always friendly but is spotty, we go during the weekday lunch rush so I am don't want to knock them too hard about it. Try the Papdi Chaat or the Dosa can't go wrong! My only complaint is that they are closed on Tuesday's so I have to go somewhere else if we want Indian then. Lunch special is great, $8.99 for a curry, rice and Naan! $1.00 for a soda if you get the special. I've had the Gobi 65, Papdi Chaat, Masala Dosa, Aloo Bonda, Samosa Chaat, Pav Bhaji, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Sagg Paneer. Everything has been outstanding!! Even the Naan is better than other places. Crispy on the bottom light and fluffy on top. Decor is fine, they have a mirrored wall so it makes the place feel bigger than it is and nice covered outside seating. Try it, you wont be disappointed. read more

This is the best Indian food I've had in Louisville. I like the location because it's easy to get to, plenty of parking, spacious dining room and pretty good service. We only had one small hiccup because the server took my naan basket when I had one piece left . Overall, good experience and the food is very tasty and it's a lot more food than it looks. I ordered the Chicken Sukka Masala and Garlic Naan, also a Cheese Naan (which I highly recommend), and for dessert I had the mango and pistachio ice cream which I wouldn't order again. And our server recommended an indian dessert-Gulab Jamun and it is extremely sweet. Kind of like soaked bread, but if you don't like sweet sweet desserts, you should probably try something else. Our first visit in years. We had read somewhere that they had restarted their lunch buffet. We were shopping in the neighborhood and went there for lunch. Unfortunately, they DO NOT have a buffet. However, they have a $7.99 lunch menu. That being the case, we decided to stay without the buffet. There are several entrées that come with rice and Naan bread. If you want to add a meat there is an upcharge of $2 to $3 dollars. My wife had the Chettinad with chicken ($9.99) and I ordered Curry with chicken ($9.99). You are given a dinner plate, a dish of rice and your entree in a separate bowl. You build your own meal as you go. You also order what heat (spice) level you want. Both meals were delicious. I ordered heat level 2 and could have stood level 3. My wife ordered spice level 1 and it was all she wanted. We were also served a generous basket of naan. Plenty for 2 of us. However, if you are a big eater, the entree will not be enough for you. We're elderly and it was plenty for us. My Curry was very good, but my wife's Chettinad was awesome! Unsweetened iced tea is only $2 and was good. Note, there is an upcharge if you pay with a credit card. read more

I always order the hottest they have because well it's delicious. Now the place is a little small so if your going during lunch it will get busy fast. The service is fast. They take care of you as soon as you get sat down that's always a plus for me. The only down fall is if you don't look for it you will miss it. I was in Louisville, KY at the Corporate Office for a few weeks, Bombay Grill was my favorite restaurant there. Service was truly exceptional. Food was amazing! Their Dal Tadka and Samosa are to die for! Their food is hearty with rich flavors and generous portions. The waiters didn't (what I call) "white person block" my request for super spicy food, it burned - burned amazingly like the heat of a thousand suns kissing my tongue - I was so happy. The only bad thing about this restaurant is that I liked it better than Reno's (my hometown's) Indian restaurants and I live two thousand miles away. It's been years since I've been back here. The last time, I came for buffet on Sunday and they kept running out of naan...I was upset! This time, I came with friends for dinner. It wasn't super busy when we arrived around 6:45, but it got busier as it got closer to 8. It was a Wednesday evening. We ordered stuff to share. From the apps, we got veggie samosas, Medu Vada (lentil donuts), and Mixed Vegetable Pakoda (pakora, fried peppers, fried potatoes). It was all bland...I was unimpressed. I've had so much better! From the menu, we shared vegetable biryani (spice level 2), butter chicken (spice level 4), and chicken tikka (spice level 3). The heat wasn't bad until you keep eating more and more. We got garlic naan which was fantastic! The food overall could've been more flavorful. They were generous with the chicken though. Came with a group of people so we ordered a bunch of different things to share family style. I can't remember the name of all of them but we got the cauliflower appetizer, lamb dish, tikka masala, saag or the spinach base, vindaloo and one that comes with chickpeas. I wish my vindaloo was spicier i think i ordered a level 4 but i'd definitely go to 5 next time because vindaloo is supposed to be spicy as hell. It was good but not as satisfying but i went conservative since every place has a different spice level. The lamb and cauliflower were super good very flavorful but the lamb dish was mostly onions haha and less meat. The cauliflower had some heat to it love it! Also ordered a mango lassi which is always good. We got the onion and garlic naan. The onion made the naan a bit soggy so i'd stick with just garlic naan next time. read more

Bombay Grill has been my favorite Indian restaurant in town after my first time there. It's a little more casual than some other places, but the flavors are so much more amazing and more importantly, consistent. I typically don't get butter chicken, but my friend insisted I try his and it changed my life. They also have an amazing lunch buffet with a lot of variety for a great price. I've given them a great review in the past, but recently I felt the need to write another. It's a difficult time for everyone right now, and being a physician who trained on the east coast where the pandemic is hitting the hardest right now, I'm humbled by the collective efforts of everyone to help each other through this. Recently, a medical resident here called Bombay Grill to place an order and when they heard it was for the hospital, they donated all the food to the residents and other hospital workers. Please don't go to this restaurant. If you do, I'm going to have a harder and harder time finding a table. Bombay Grill is surprisingly cozy for a strip mall restaurant. But, as much as I hate to admit it, the food is consistently spectacular. Their Gobi 65 is to die for, but may I suggest you start out at a nice medium (3 or 4, perhaps), then build up, unless you're an old hand at spice, of course. All of the Naans are great, but the Pudhina Naan, stuffed with mint, is my current favorite. I have never had anything that didn't please me here. I adore all of their Dosas (huge crepes filled with veggies and such). I'm not vegetarian, but I am equally satisfied with their vegetarian entrees, My personal favorites are usually chicken, but I love their lamb, goat, and seafood selections, too. I was lucky enough to try Bombay Grill at a work event and it was AMAZING. The samosas were delicious; big and crispy with a tasty pea filling that could have been a full meal on its own. There was a mint sauce that went with them that was something I've never had before but am now obsessed with. The garlic naan was perfect. The butter chicken was literally perfect. We are privileged to have many Indian restaurants in Louisville - so clearly I must make it my mission to try them all. Bombay Grill was my most recent adventure, and it did not disappoint. We were greeted warmly, seated immediately, and swiftly gifted with a tray of marvelous crunchy snacks and chutneys. Several terms in the menu were unfamiliar to us, and our server graciously took the time to explain everything, as well as make recommendations when we had difficulty deciding between several options. Based on his expertise, I ordered the Bindi Do Pyaza, a marvelously spicy dish of okra, tomatoes, and onions. We also ordered garlic naan, because, well, obvious. The naan was tasty, but was a little thinner and crispier than I am used to. I prefer my naan thicker, with a little chew. Overall, a solid member of the Louisville Indian cuisine scene. Okay, so I've only had Indian food from one restaurant in Louisville because I can't bring myself to stray from Bombay Grill. Three items in particular keep me loyal 1. Onion Bhaji. Good portion size, never greasy, and seasoned perfectly. 2. The Mint Chutney- with my bhajis, with naan, with everything. It's called mint, but it's got the perfect cilantro/garlic/spicy flavor. I just wish they sold it as a side and as a larger portion. 3. Gobi 65 (in the indo chinese menu). It's fried cauliflower in some magic fluorescent spicy red sauce. My husband despises cauliflower but he loves the Gobi 65. The husband also raves about the Vindaloo (both the lamb and the chicken), naan is great, and enjoyed the chickpea patties (I don't remember what they're called. We really enjoyed our dinner here at Bombay Grill! First of all, their menu is huge, and they have an entire page of vegetarian meals (a lot of which could be made vegan). We got the Aloo Gobi and the Vegetable Jalfrezi, that were both made vegan for us. The spices were perfect and we both could not stop commenting on how good everything was. We each got some soup to start with, which was perfect for the cold evening and flavored very well. I feel like the prices here are great for the quality of food and service we received!
