One of our favorite breakfast places in Hendersonville! Feels like home! Briann was our server and I ordered the Greek Scrambler. The twin ( David ) wasn't paying attention and ordered the same as me! His has grits, mine potatoes, the biscuits were perfect, cut in half and toasted with butter. The scrambler was loaded with two eggs, veggies and feta cheese and had a light hollandaise sauce on top. Just perfect! Briann brought me a coffee to go along with a box for the Freck. Goooood Morning Hendersonville NC! You might think I am embellishing this, but this was the breakfast I've had in awhile! I religiously order the classic American breakfast. You would think that most places would do that well, but as much as I eat it...I can't say that. My eggs were cooked to perfection, bacon was perfect, and to compliment that I had some sourdough toast and their grits. Finally some diner grits with some flavor! Wonderful. I was very happy. My wife enjoyed a BLT bomb which is pictured in the review. We also thought their coffee was good too. We were greeted quickly and sat ourselves at the diner bar. We had a few attentive servers take care of us and we had a birdseye.view of the open kitchen where the short order staff was busy churning out the food. I rarely complain about things. The place is very nice, clean, and bright. Our server was fine, it has nothing to do with her. But, when I ask for eggs in a very specific way and make them repeat it back to me and somebody somewhere along the line gets it wrong, it bugs me. I ordered the simplest thing on the menu and it after two attempts, they still didn't get it right. It took forever to get the order in the first place and then they even forgot about my redone order the second time and started to bring us the check. The food was meh. read more

My hubs and I came on a Friday at about noon, and had no wait. I ordered the shrimp and grits bowl with 2 poached eggs, and was looking forward to popping those over my grits but unfortunately they were cooked all the way through. The rest of the dish however was very tasty and the garlic bread served with the dish was a nice touch. The manager checked in with us at the end of our meal and I gave him feedback about the eggs and he said if I had said something to the server they would have made new eggs to order, but when the server checked previously hubs spoke too quickly and said everything was good, so she was off in a flash. Met a friend here for brunch today. My first time eating here. I didn't expect it to be so packed, I had to wait 15 minutes for a table. That was no problem as there is seating at the door. We got our table and ordered our beverages. The server came back with our drinks then took our meal orders. We both got the pancakes with bacon in the batter and fresh strawberries on top. Delicious! I was surprised not only by the large size ( we had enough to take home for another meal) but the chicken was very tender, and Texas toast was much better than a bun for a change. Very sad. Friend of mine went in here hoping to get a little time together to chat and enjoy some good food. WE both got the pancakes with strawberries. The strawberries were old, gross, slimy, smelt and tasted nasty as well as like sausage. We didn't even order sausage. Our waitress was impatient while we ordered and came back to give us our check while my friend was still eating. I originally ordered the coffee, but before even tasting it asked her to bring it back because it smelt burnt. I could tell the owners put some thought into the aesthetics of the place because there was cute wall art and the flow of the restaurant was nice. Lastly, the food was not worth the price for over $15 a plate of pancakes; I did not like feeling rushed, for that amount of money to enter again. Well, I was overall this point in the entire meal. The combination of taste was not right. I ordered the chicken omelette, the onions in the peco taste like they've been around for a couple days. Chicken was grilled right eggs were done fairly well avocado was brown. The toast had been toasted like four hours ago and then warmed up or something. It was hard as a brick, lousy. Potatoes were way too overdone. My overall experience was not very good. The service itself was fantastic. The girl was very attentive and no problem at all with her service. Food took about 30 mins to get but that's understandable as the place just opened about 2 weeks ago. I sooo wanted to love this place and i do want to give it a second chance. I arrived at a busy (on Tues. morning of all days at 9:30) and waited for a table. I liked(in an odd way) that it was crowded..the food must be fabulous. Right? Not so fast. The waitress was adorable, accomodating, really connected with us, we talked about where she was from, etc. Adorable. Personable and she represented the place. I Liked her. ALREADY DECIDED she was getting a "better than 20% tip." Ordered our food. She was accomodating in that I didn't want the green chilis and jalapenos in the Farmer's omelet. I was looking for your basic Western omelette which they did not have and this would have been the closest thing to that, full of sausage, cheese and veggies. What's not to love right? Our sweet waitress assured me I could swap those "offending"peppers I don't like for for regular onion and peppers. What's not to love about that, right? She asked what kind of cheese i wanted in the omelete. Yay, I'm excited for breakfast. Not so fast... 45 freaking minutes later, starved to death, i get a POTATO OMELETTE. Is there even such a thing??. Not potatoes on the side, big chunks of potatoes in the omelette with a few pieces of Andouille sausage. NOTHING ELSE. No veggies, no cheese. I don't eat soggy potatoes in the omelette as a filler. I eat them on the OUTSIDE and like them crispy. 10 bucks for this? I think not. I just "shut up" and ate my b.fast. The portion size was good and I could take half home to eat later so I couldn't complain about that, but I SHOULD HAVE sent my order back as it was NOT correctly prepared. . I waited a long time for my food and didn't get what I had ordered.I didn't want to waste any more time as i had to be somewhere at 11 and didn't want to wait even longer. BTW..I needed something to flavor this dull, boring potato "omelette" so i asked for cheese as there was NONE on it or in it. I have to say I was very disappointed. Now, I give credit where credit is due and i left the waitress a good tip. It wasn't her fault that the cooks in the kitchen didn't get my order right. I'd much more highly recommend The Pop's Diner at "5 points". You really get what you order with huge portions and speedy delivery from the ktichen, never more than 10 minutes to wait. It has a fun, 60s vibe with the music and the diner feel. I'd pass this chain by. I wonder, is it a "chain thing?" Do they care if the customer is contented with their meal? I know folks who have a difficult time admitting when they are wrong. I do not count myself among them! Not long ago, I posted a not so flattering review of Eggs Up Grill on Spartanburg Highway here in Hendersonville. The first review I posted on their establishment was a thumbs WAY UP! I am stepping forward to say that the less than flattering review which I posted was way off base. All kinds of businesses have been struggling during this pandemic, struggling to stay open and struggling to keep staff. Think I was way too harsh on them at the time and needed to demonstrate a virtue that I have preached during this pandemic......patience. It is the truth! We need to be patient with businesses that we patronize these days because they are doing the best that they can under the circumtances. We went back to Eggs Up Grill yesterday morning for breakfast and could not have been more pleased. Our server, Dayna, is excellent and the owner, Daniel Fort, dropped by our table for a brief visit. Dayna could not have taken better care of us and the bananas foster french toast that I had was BEYOND AWESOME! It may be my new favorite breakfast food. We also witnessed an unusual act of kindness. A patron who I will diplomatically say was a bit overweight was unable to get out of his chair. Two of the young men who are staff members came over to his table. One got on each side of him and helped him come to a standing position. Way to go, gentlemen! Just wanted to set the record straight! This is our # 1 favorite breakfast place in the Hendersonville area. Daniel and his staff deliver an excellent product (everything we have had here is truly delicious) and extraordinary service to go along with it. We moved here from Naples, FL in October and this has been our go to place for breakfast. The food is great, but the service is even better! If you are lucky enough to get Michelle, you will feel like you are dining at a friends house. She is always ready with a smile and is interested in what's happening in our lives. Went with my in-laws twice around Christmas and both times were FANTASTIC. Bit of a wait the first time, but on a Saturday morning that is to be expected. Food was superb - all 4 of us enjoyed our meals both times. Grits were the perfect texture, corned beef hash was super flavorful (I don't think I've ever had corned beef hash that I didn't need to add salt and pepper to before!), waffle was wonderfully malty, biscuits and gravy were tender and rich, and the "everything French toast" was so unique and a great savory twist.
