Biscuit Head is a pretty well-known place in Asheville, in fact so much so there are three locations. I went to the one in Hendersonville and it was just as awesome as I hoped it would be. Of course it's busy and it's small and it's loud and that's to be expected. I placed my order for the fried green tomato biscuit and waited for my order. I expected it to take a super long time but it wasn't too bad. My food was so good and so filling. Everyone knows I'm a cat lover so I loved the cat theme. Also super cute that the number they bring to your table has pictures of cats that have been rescued. This is an easy yes! I will definitely return the next time I'm in town.

We ordered at the bar, and the server was so nice, I loved the table cards with cats on them. She suggested some a brown sugar or butter pecan latte. I went with pecan it was delicious. The place has cat images every where!! Because they make biscuits as big as a cat's head. The murals inside and out were delightful as well as all the framed pics of cats. It's casual, but cozy.

Pulled Pork Biscuit (no jalapeño pimento, GF biscuit)

Service and ambiance worked out well as usual. I got the pulled pork biscuit, which is a biscuit (I chose GF) with pulled pork topped with a poached egg, bacon, and maple syrup, with the removal of jalapeño pimento cheese and the addition of home fries. The home fries were well-cooked but could have been a little saltier. The biscuit plate overall looked a mess, but the flavor made up for it. The sweetness from the syrup worked out better than I thought it would, but the egg was medium-poached and I thought it would be soft-poached. Overall, though, grateful for a not half bad pre-Thanksgiving brunch.

The food is really good & the staff has always been friendly when we have visited. Hats off to the cooks. The eggs are delicious, light, not over cooked & not greasy. There is a decent variety of home made jams, butter, coffees & drinks. The main attraction is the giant biscuits. They are fluffy & not dry. Parking in the area is difficult & tricky. If you don't get lucky enough to park right on the street, just do yourself a favor and pay the $5 to park in the lot behind the restaurant to avoid the frustration of finding parking. They are usually quite busy so it's not a place we have stayed too long to just relax and hang out. Recommend for everyone.

After eating here for breakfast - the biscuits are huge * pork sausage gravy was spicy - took back for a plain gravy - which was a lot better - can't say I was impressed w the food - I really liked the set up - very nice dining area - that's where the stars are coming from - thanks again

The food was good. It's ALOT of biscuit make sure you get a tall glass of water! I'd go back to try something else when I'm in town again.

Fun place for breakfast in Arden. Service was swift and efficient. The biscuits are wonderful. A definite stop in Asheville area for breakfast or brunch.

This is the third Biscuit Head we have been to in Asheville and I think my favorite. The parking is a bit of a challenge but there is other places like street parking if you can't find anything in the lot in front. If you have not been to a Biscuit Head you can't get seating until you order and get a number. This is fine because you can find seating and like other locations it has some outdoor seating as well. I choose what I usually get which is the Filthy Animal, a fresh biscuit with egg, a fried chicken strip and bacon slices. This was covered in a shiitake gravy, a personal favorite gravy but they have other choices. They have a couple of different locally sourced coffees as well that are not grown here of course but roasted. The service is typically good but I thought they were even friendlier than the other locations as well. If you are are in Asheville then Biscuit Head is a must stop for breakfast.

Very nice staff. The biscuit could have been warmer to melt the butter but the gravy was so good and had a little bit of a kick. Casual laid back brunch spot with fun attentive staff who always were cleaning everything. Great find, plus free stickers!

Mimosa chicken biscuit on a regular biscuit that our friend got.

First, I just want to start by saying Biscuit Head is 5/5 on flavor. I had to bump to 3 stars because I got glutened here. My husband ordered the gluten free vegan biscuit. I thought it looked better than usual and when I tried it I thought it tasted different (in a much better way) than when I'd had it before. Thankfully, I only took two bites. The next day we all went in together to sit for breakfast. My husband and I got the half breakfast plate with gluten free/vegan biscuits and our friend got the mimosa biscuit. Immediately, I noticed how different our biscuits looked from his and how my husband's gluten free biscuit from the day before looked nothing like what we now had and looked exactly like our friend's gluten biscuit. While I realize, biscuit head is not made for celiacs--it is a very big deal To give a customer who orders gluten free a regular gluten biscuit. With that being said, biscuit heads' biscuits are amazing (both the gluten free/vegan and the regular). Our friend loved his mimosa chicken biscuit and we ate here multiple times during our stay. I would still recommend them but be very cautious and double check if you are gluten free.

We were in town for a wedding and family had recommended Biscuit Head for breakfast and it did not disappoint! There was a larger group of us- the service was fast and very friendly. Between our group, we had the filthy animal biscuit, the Nutella and banana biscuit and regular breakfast meals. All the food was delicious and the coffee was fantastic!!! We had been on the hunt for a good cup of coffee all trip and were thrilled to finally get one! If you are in the area, this place is not to be missed!

I really wanted a biscuit with my breakfast and boy did this place have some good biscuits. They had a bar with all different jams and toppings you can pick from. I was very disappointed with my scrambled eggs as they were too well done for me (more like a burnt omelette). I'm glad somebody told me about this location as there was more parking and it was not as crowded as the location downtown.

I came here a long time ago when visiting the area and thought what I got was just ok but tried the biscuit and sausage gravy with a side of pulled pork and thought both were excellent. I have noticed other places in this area often skimp on the sausage in the gravy so I often order an extra sausage on the side but definitely not necessary here as they crumbled up at least 1 whole sausage just for my meal. Excellent, large fluffy biscuits, only finished 1 1/3. The pulled pork was very tender and flavorful. The small tables don't have a napkin dispenser and they don't bring any with your food so you need to grab from a larger table.

I was grateful to be able to get a seat at the bar, with a less than 10 minute wait. It is honestly worth it! The staff was warm and welcoming, even with tending to loads of customers (this is a true skill and art). The ambiance is upbeat and lively! Imagine a roadside breakfast parlor. I sat at the bar and it was good vibes! The hostess used to live in my hometown (who woulda thunk it) & I met the coolest guy from Boston, who has a golden doodle named Nugget back home. Good vibes all the way, which added to a special experience. He was flying back home after his meal. Now, onto the food (the part you all have been patiently waiting for). I ordered a hibiscus tea as my beverage (warm and refreshing). I also ordered the carrot cake hotcakes, a side of bacon, and a side of home fries. The carrot hotcakes were luscious! They came with hazelnut butter, and amazing syrup!!! These hotcakes were savory and filling! The bacon had an essence of hickory! A perfect medley between crispy and tender! The home fries were seasoned nicely and I doused them with ketchup and hot sauce! This was an iconic and memorable restaurant experience for me! Our water glasses were continually refilled, and our server checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. My partner and I liked so many things on the menu that we knew ordering soup, salad, an appetizer, and entrées would be too much. We told our server we were sharing, and for most of the courses, they divided the portions and brought them out on separate plates. That was another small touch that showed they were paying attention to detail. There wasn't anything we had that we wouldn't order again. We started with the seasonal soup, which was a tomato bisque, followed by the strawberry and feta salad. The country ham board was excellent and actually had me looking for Lusty Monk mustard the next day. For our main entrée, we shared the shrimp and grits, which was also delicious. First, a logistics tip for anyone else visiting: give yourself plenty of extra time to find parking, as it takes a while to hunt down a spot down here. Also, double-check that you are making your reservation for the right location! There are a couple in the area and it can get confusing quickly. As for the food, my meal was quite good. I ordered the fried chicken with green beans and grits, and everything on my plate was delicious. However, my husband's meal was a bit of a letdown. He had the chicken and waffles--he felt his chicken was on the overcooked side, and the waffle itself had the texture of pancakes rather than being crisp. Service was also a bit slow during our visit. The most frustrating part was noticing that our food came out after a table of four that had actually been seated after we were. It was worth a try while we were in town, but given the service pacing and the hiccups with my husband's food, I don't think we'd head back on a return trip.
