We have visited Eggs Up in Shallotte since the week they opened some years ago. Loved it initially, but it has slowly declined in service, food preparation and the prices of course have risen. We decided twice in the last month to try Eggs Up in Southport and although it was a busy day, we waited 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee. Sat at the counter and ordered from there and had quite a show by the staff (not in a good way)... Finally 1/2 hr after our order went in for a simple breakfast, we paid for our coffees and left in disgust. Staff is not professional, they are not happy people and the cook and helpers in the kitchen were in no mood to please customers. Meals were delivered twice that we witnessed to the wrong tables causing waiting customers to get up and leave as well. Will NOT go back. Shallotte was just a shade better our last time there. Service was extremely slow. They were busy but that is what management is supposed to have a plan to address. We had the egg white omelette and they were not cooked enough. Who wants runny egg whites? We chose to add turkey bacon . It wasn't clear that it would be put into the omelette rather than on the side and it was not crispy like we had expected it. read more

Took over 40 minutes to sit us down. After being sat down took almost an hour to receive our food and when we did my sons potatoes had a hair in it. Never going back. Waitress was super nice tho. read more

Ate breakfast here a few days ago on a very busy Sunday. Of course, there was a wait to be seated. Food took a long time to come. I had the cinnamon French toast for over $9.00. I got two small and thin pieces of bread that were poor excuses for French toast. My husband said his steak and egg breakfast was a "meh". Great for breakfast! Best potato side ever. Lindsay was a super friendly server. My son's steak egg wrap was delicious. Only here visiting for a few days but already plan to go back before we leave. OMG!!! This is the best breakfast/lunch restaurant I have ever been to. The menu is so comprehensive and diverse that it puts every other place in the area to shame. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures but we were too busy eating to take pictures. The food is delicious, not to mention their home fries which are outstanding. The four of us ordered four different things and were raving about each dish. One of us even ordered a BLT sandwich and said it was the best she ever had. What can they do to a BLT to warrant raves? Besides the food the place is huge so there was no wait, even on a Sunday. It's bright and airy and very inviting. The wait staff was accommodating and checked in with us frequently making sure drinks were never empty. Considering this is a new restaurant they made sure they had their act together before opening so they didn't have the usual "new restaurant glitches." What a pleasure. We will definitely be making this our regular brunch place. read more

Poor food, bacon was mostly fat. I ordered crispy bacon and what I received was not crispy. Waffles tasted like cardboard. Food was lousy and overpriced. $57 for 3 people for breakfast. read more

Just had Eggs Up Grill cater an event for our organization and they did such a great job! Working with the manager was easy and pain free! He went above and beyond for us! The food was delicious, hot, ready on time and just a wonderful job all around! My husband and I also frequent the restaurant for breakfast and we love it! It's clean, delicious, and the waitstaff is wonderful! I cannot recommend Eggs Up Grill in Southport enough! So very happy they opened a restaurant here! read more

Very friendly and good food. At times there is a little delay in service, but that can happen to any restaurant. We are happy they're here.

We drove through Southport on our way to Oak Island and stopped to have brunch. We were seated in less than one minute and got our drinks very quickly. We had a wonderful waitress that placed our order promptly and refilled our drinks faster than we could drink them. We enjoyed the employee atmosphere, the open space in this restaurant, and the food was hot and delicious! We will definitely be having breakfast there next time we are in the Southport area. I read all the negative reviews about Eggs Up Grill in Southport. I would like to disagree. my husband and I eat there every chance we get and that is often. it is difficult to find a breakfast location that serves grits and eggs perfectly. We are actually closer to Leland than we are to Shallotte or Southport but until they open a location in Leland we will continue to frequent either of the two locations. Keep as you are and don't change. read more
