Small and quaint family owned restaurant. We ordered turkey sausage egg and cheese biscuit and a southwestern omelet for $17 total. Indoor and outdoor seating available with a few parking spaces. The staff was quick and friendly. Located less than 3 min from the beach and walking distance from a few nearby hotels and air bnb homes. I would def return on my next trip to the area.

We had one of the best breakfasts at Granny's while vacationing in Carolina Beach. It's a small place inside (with six tables) and a small parking lot. Definitely walk, if you can. There was one server working the entire restaurant, and she was hustling. She was very friendly, and service was very fast, too. They know how to run an efficient operation here! I had the two cheese and bacon omelet with grits and a biscuit. My husband had the Egg Breakfast Plate with corned beef hash AND country ham, fried eggs, homefries, and toast. My omelet was really cheesy and very good. The grits were the stoneground kind, and cooked just right. The biscuit was on a smaller side, but nice and fluffy inside. Note that they serve REAL butter at Granny's (unlike Kate's). My husband's eggs were perfectly over-medium. He couldn't stop talking about the country ham - it was thick and very juicy. The corned beef hash was a tad salty, but still very tasty. The homefries weren't crispy, but they were seasoned well. The coffee was very strong and delicious. We would definitely return if we ever revisit Carolina Beach!

The food was stellar! We didn't get pictures cause we were all so ready to dig in The best chicken livers and mashed potatoes of any restaurant they were like my grandma makes! (That's a huge compliment) Breakfast is all day my brother got the western omelet and it smelled delicious he said it was really good I got the hotdog basket and the fries and the hotdog were both great. The chili and slaw were delicious Gravy and biscuits was fantastic All around great and we will definitely be back. Service was great and everyone was friendly.

Granny's Country Kitchen is a small restaurant with a nice variety of breakfast selections. Service is quick and our server was especially nice. I had the Southwestern Omelette, Stoneground Gris, and a biscuit. The omelette was slightly overcooked in my opinion but still very good. I loved the grits and the biscuit was good too. My wife enjoyed her Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Omelette as well. Be sure to get there early as seating fills up quickly.

Cash only, great service and seemingly family-run. We sat outside at a picnic table under a towering beach umbrella. The fried green tomatoes were delicious to start, followed by the Hungry Man pancakes and French toast. A perfect coastal town breakfast, enjoying the simplicity and slowness with someone you love :)

Best breakfast spot on the beach!! Super flavorful and great service. It is super busy in the morning, with longer waits but it's slower around noon so just recommend going then. The workers there are super friendly and very welcoming. The inside doesn't have much seating so not ideal for groups over 5 but they do have outdoor seating. We didn't wait long to get our food. The fried green tomatoes is a must try! And the omelette and the French toast club were delicious. Great place for breakfast or lunch when you are in the area.

Fell in love with the cook! She's a hoot! On vacation otherwise I'd be a repeat customer. Super good service and the decor made you feel like you were in your granny's house.

Walked right out of our condo crossed street and walked right into Granny's Kitchen . The service was warm and welcoming and food hot and Mmmmm good . One suggestion maybe try a different sausage with a little more taste to it. This one is to mild for my liking. Nothing that would stop me from returning though just a mild suggestion. I highly recommend this sweet homey spot.

Our service was quick and efficient! We snuck in right before the rush around 5:45 PM our server Kyra was wonderful! Her timing was excellent and her suggestions were spot on! She was friendly, efficient, and just added to the great experience that all four of us had! My husband and I shared the mahi special and something called Crete Beets ( spelled on the menu beats); both were absolutely delicious! The mahi was prepared perfectly and had a nice light creole sauce which they put on the side for dipping and the crab mac & cheese was delightful with asparagus that was cooked on point; not overdone and not underdone which I know in restaurants is sometimes difficult to do. The crete "beats" was more or less a charcuterie board of roasted purple and gold beats with the most delicious whipped dip and perfectly seasoned and baked pita some of the best I've ever had with olives and cucumbers, and pickled red onions! I can't really describe the dip and apparently it's top-secret because I asked for the recipe! Our friends ordered the beet salad with extra beets; shrimp Tapatio and a bowl of the soup of the day. All were delicous and there was not a crumb or a drop left on their plates while my husband and I were still eating ours! The soup of the day was a potato jalapeño cheddar and it did not disappoint! this seriously is one of the few consistent restaurants on the island! I'm still dreaming about my food this morning!

It feels relaxed, welcoming, and full of appreciation for the music and history. Soul music belongs to everybody who loves it, whether it's classic soul, Motown, or even a little blue-eyed soul mixed in. This place feels like it's celebrating that tradition, not exploiting it. Natalie took great care of us and gave us the kind of service that makes you feel right at home. I had the chicken and noodles, which were rich, comforting, and the sort of dish that would make your grandmother nod in approval. Mimi had the Tropical Tikia Marsala with scallops, shrimp, mahi filet, mango, pineapple, coconut rice, and it was outstanding--sweet, savory, and just different enough to make you wonder why more places don't cook like this. We finished by sharing the warm toffee pecan bread pudding, and if you leave without trying it, well, that's like walking out of church before the choir sings. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. Soul Flavor is a Carolina Beach gem, and we'll definitely be back.

We're close enough to Florida, surely SOMEBODY had to serve a decent KLP?! Quick Google search led me to the Southerly, which incidentally was very close to the park we were currently at. I asked if I could reserve one for the next day- easy as pie, right? He was so friendly and accommodating, I probably would have gone in even if he said no pies tomorrow. Just a super warm, kind person. The Southerly is known for their biscuits, so when we went in the next day we got biscuits, sandwiches, and the pie. The biscuits are out of this world. I've never had a biscuit this good before. Tender, flaky, with a few crispy parts. The flavor was heavenly. The sandwiches were very good, I wish I had been able to try more. I even took a plain biscuits home to eat later and they're fantastic even without butter or jam. Absolute perfection. The Key lime pie was good. We didn't eat it until later that night. The crust was a little dry and crumbly. The filling was decadent, perfect, key limey in every way. I couldn't recommend this place more. Everyone was so nice, it's a great local spot. And let me tell you-- I would pay for express shipping if they offered it.

We arrived around 4:30 and beat the dinner rush, which gave us a beautiful evening outside. From the moment we sat down, it felt less like going to a restaurant and more like coming home after a long day at the beach. Our servers, Abigail and Allie, were both wonderful--friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Service like that is getting harder to find these days, and they deserve a lot of credit. We started with the fried okra, and there were barely any left by the time I thought to take a picture. Crisp, hot, and some of the best we've had. The Black and Red wings were excellent too--full of flavor with just the right amount of kick. The fries were seasoned and cooked just right. The outside seating has a great atmosphere, and even the little details stood out. The place was clean, including the restroom, and seeing their 97.5 sanitation score posted proudly gave us even more confidence. They even had a Venus flytrap outside--only in Carolina Beach can a restaurant have its own bug patrol on duty. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

A great place to eat!…read more Me and my parents came here for lunch as we heard it was highly rated. Getting there was a little tricky but that was the GPS' fault. It has a nice big parking lot and we were shocked that on a Thursday afternoon, it was packed. When we walked in, we were greeted nicely and seated at a booth. The booth was nice and spacious. The table was clean, silverware was mostly clean, and there was salt, pepper, and I believe paprika shakers already on the table. One thing that impressed me heavily, is that there was a napkin dispenser already on the table. I can't tell you how frustrating it is when you have to ask for more napkins at other restaurants, and your server is nowhere to be found, or when they bring you some, but it's not enough. This is huge for a food critic like myself and this should be the standard at all restaurants. Our server was nice. She was knowledgeable about the menu and honest about what was good and what wasn't as popular. The food was good! I got the swordfish tacos with garlic mashed potatoes and a side of baked mac and cheese. The baked mac and cheese was excellent (it's quite big! You may want to make that your only side or share it with someone). The garlic mashed was good too. The swordfish tacos were good, but would've liked a little more meat in there. Still, flavor was great. My parents both got lobster rolls which they liked and my dad got the crab chowder and he said it was fantastic. Their chowder's is what they are famous for; will try that when I go back. Server was attentive, brought us refills and did an overall great job. Food is reasonable priced too and it looked like the store manager checked up on us a few times which was nice as well. Overall a great seafood restaurant to eat at. The biggest bright spot was the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and our server, Paige, was especially attentive, pleasant, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The Food We went straight for what matters. * Chilean Sea Bass -- cooked right, flaky, moist, and seasoned without trying to show off. That's how it's supposed to be done. No nonsense, just good fish handled properly. * Fish Bites (house specialty) -- lightly battered, crispy without being greasy, and paired with both Thai chili and tartar sauces. That combo works. You don't fix what isn't broken, and thankfully they didn't. * Ponzu Tuna Tacos -- these were the standout. Fresh, flavorful, balanced. The ponzu brings just enough bite without overpowering the tuna. If you're going there and skip these, that's on you. Sides held their own--fresh vegetables with a good sauté, and coleslaw that didn't taste like it came out of a tub somewhere in the back. Service Our server, Kali (K-A-L-I), did things the old-school way--attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake. That's getting rare these days, and it's worth mentioning. Value Two people, solid seafood, no corners cut: $67.15 total. In today's world? That's not just fair--that's impressive. Final Take New ownership can sometimes mean a place loses its identity. That didn't happen here. Fish Bites still delivers what made it a favorite--fresh seafood, straightforward preparation, and consistency.
