Lady who answered the phone was rude. She told me that they would have to do a "diagnostics" to determine the problem, & that was fine with me. However, she couldn't give me any kind of estimate for the price of a "diagnostics" (nor did she even try) & when I explained that I couldn't just bring my car in without having any idea of what the initial diagnosis may cost she simply hung up the phone on me. I was stunned by her rude attitude & callous way of doing business. I'm a senior citizen on a budget & I prefer to have at least a ball park figure in mind before I make a large purchase of any kind. I visited the Morgan Ave location today for an "emergency" Visit. I was traveling from out of town and needed a quick Repair made to the undercarriage of my car before traveling further. The service attendant quickly got my car in for inspection and the mechanic, Dean, resolved the problem for me in no time! They showed me the problem and gave me repair options. After having a very reliable and reasonable auto care center near our previous residence, I was concerned about finding a mechanic I could trust on the East side of Evansville. Based on their reviews and location I chose the Eich Brothers Thrifty Auto Service on Morgan Ave. They were very accommodating about dropping the car off (they have a lock box to use after hours). They were very knowledgeable and helpful in determining what services were needed. They did great work, my car is driving better than it had on a long time. Without getting into the details of my long list of car problems and servicing needs, let me just say it was extensive after a year of driving several thousand mile trips. I now feel ready to take two more long trips this spring. The car is riding very smooth, shifting smoothly, and running like a sewing machine, very quietly. The costs were reasonable and the service managers were very friendly and easy to talk to. I got regular updates on the status of my car and knew exactly which repairs were going to be done, how much they would cost and when they would be completed. read more

Was told I needed several things done to my vehicle that had already been taken care of previously. Fortunately I have had my vehicle several years and had it serviced routinely. Wanted to charge me over a $1,000 for things that had already been done. Definitely a scam. read more

Had ignition switch replaced, mechanic broke drivers seat trim. They checked for my oil leak and gave me a labor estimate around 700.00 not including parts. They claimed the intake cover had to be removed 400 in labor to replace hoses. This was not accurate. Hoses are easy access from above. Parts were being replaced that wasn't even bad. I was told the mechanic is a master mechanic, in my opinion this would been a costly repair for unnecessary repairs. The only repair needed that the mechanic did get correct was the oil pan gasket. They actually check all of the aspects of the vehicle and recommend any safety concerns they find, if any. Don't let the name make you think "cheap," they do a great job. read more

The nearby dealership dropped the ball setting up an appointment for my Jeep and the 3rd transmission shop I visited referred me to Thrifty along with some co-workers. WOW! I don't know where to begin. Jason is Awesome! He is very nice to all the customers. He is very knowledgeable as well. I had a problem with the place I used to go to trying to put the wrong oil in my Avalon Hybrid. I called Thrifty from a friends referral. They knew exactly what oil my car needed for my Hybrid Synergy Drive System. They also checked several other things during my oil change. I also had my tires rotated. This is the cleanest auto service center I have ever seen in my life. Each customer that came in after we did was treated with respect and kindness. I will never go any other place. I am incredibly happy with the service I was provided here at Thrifty Car Care Center! After hours on a Sunday, I messaged and requested a quote and within 20 minutes I received a reply from Jason with information. The next morning when I called he had me bring my car on in and it was fixed that same day! As a random walk-in needing a new alternator, Jason had Incredible service and communication. By far the best Auto care experience I have had to date, not to mention their incredible prices! Many other shops in Evansville were charging unreal amounts, but not Thrifty Car Care Center! These guys have a well-earned reputation as the best in town. Jason worked with me patiently to track down a laborious problem with an old car, too old for computer diagnostics. He exhibited knowhow and the stamina to do things step by step the right way. In the end he only charged me for what he thought was right, he didn't pad the bill with anything unnecessary. These guys are good. They're honest and reputable. My boyfriend and I have had both our vehicles worked on MULTIPLE times ranging from very minor to very extensive repairs and they never disappoint. I've had really unfortunate luck with car issues and only recently discovered Thrifty through my friend who works at Enterprise. She said Enterprise always recommends Thrifty to their customers for their personal vehicles. That says something. If the guys at Thrifty don't think a service is necessary they don't recommend it and tell you their honest opinion about how to go about fixing it within your budget with no pressure to commit. They're the most affordable auto care service as well. My bf really appreciates the Bible they keep in the waiting room too, as soon as he saw that he basically became a lifetime customer. read more

I feel trust is the most important factor in any business relationship and Thrifty continues to earn my trust time and time again. When my starter went out, they discovered it had been replaced before. They went to the trouble to determine it had a lifetime warranty and as a result I only paid for labor. These guys are not honest and don't know their job. I brought my Camry to them to check the air condition, they just took my money without doing any service. The bad thing is they even said it will cost me $1200 to fix the air condition. They took my money without proper service and diagnosis. I took my Camry to another place and they did excellent job which cost $296 to service the air condition. I will not recommend them and if they tell you anything about your car, seek a second opinion. I wish I can give them 0. read more
