I am so lucky to have found this dental office. The office is super on top of everything. It was easy to book an appointment. Sometimes they even call you to offer an earlier appointment if someone cancels. Administrative stuff like bills/payments, scheduling, and your overall dental work plan is clear and well-organized. The staff is makes this place stand out from every other dental office I've been to. From those at the front desk like Stephanie, Ivette the hygenist, Brandon the dental assistant, and Dr. Prokopets the dentist--I had an overwhelmingly pleasant experience with everyone there. Everyone knows what they're doing in their prospective roles. Dr. Prokopets is probably the best dentist I've had. Dental work can be an uncomfortable/negative experience, but he is very aware of his patients' comfort. I felt his work with my teeth was very efficient and that he was very knowledgeable. I have no issues with the care I received. I would've preferred to have 1 consistent dentist, but that's neither here nor there I suppose. My main issue is the front desk and their cancellation policy. They have a 48 cancellation policy, which I think is a bit much already. I was finally fed up when I had an appointment on a Friday afternoon but their office was closed on Wednesday. So when I tried to cancel my appointment on Thursday I was told I would be charged the cancellation fee, which is absurd. They expect patients to be on their a-game and still provide some appointment flexibility for them- they are constantly calling to ask if you could adjust your appointment time, but can't provide their patients with some grace. I honestly forgot I even published my original review until I got a notification that it was being featured for this business, and I felt compelled to update it. I wish I had done more research before choosing this place because it has been nothing but a nightmare in hindsight. In the beginning, I had a lot of dental work done--weekly appointments that dragged on for months. Looking back, I always found it odd that I had a different dentist for every major procedure (tooth extractions, crowns, etc.), but I was naive and didn't question it. Fast forward just three years, and one of my crowns COMPLETELY broke off at the root, leaving nothing to salvage. Absolutely devastating. When I brought it up to them, they gaslit me, claiming that crowns and bridges "only last so many years." Excuse me... what?! That level of manipulation is insane. On top of it all, Stefanie at the front desk always had a snobby and rude attitude, which made every visit unpleasant. The only redeeming quality of this place was the sweetest dental hygienist, who honestly WAS THE ONLY REASON I came back for a cleaning after all of this. Beware of Eicon dental y'all! This is my review of what happened. They are crooked! Go 1 star them for me :) I already filed a complaint w Cigna, who called them while I waited on the line. They told Cigna the office manager was out sick, and to call back in a few days, but then she called me 10 minutes later to bitch me out and tell me I'm not getting a refund. 2023 they overcharged me $240 and refused to give me refund. Said I'd have a credit until my daughter came back for more services. NOV 2024 they refused to do my daughter's fillings until I paid $663. Got EOB from my insurance, I only owed $95. Called dental office, getting run around saying I have zero balance and can't refund me until the office manager is in. She is who I talked to and refused to provide services until I paid $663. Last year getting a credit from overcharged x-rays was absolutely ridiculous, they REFUSED to refund me, now over 600 they are trying to fraudulently keep.*** *** When we originally spoke and she collected the 663, she said it was because the insurance would not cover the 8 cavities (@80each) because those teeth had cavities filled before and they won't pay for 2-4 years on same tooth. I asked if the fillings fell out and she said no, they are new cavities on a different spot on the tooth and that's why she needed to collect in full, she'll submit to the insurance and refund if they pay them. I knew the insurance would pay them because we have only had Cigna dental since March 2023, and they were "new cavities " so I paid the 663 (cavities and fluoride). ** Now after getting my EOB I called for my refund, and she is falsely saying my daughter got a mouthguard molded, SHE DID NOT. I was told the money was for her cavities in case insurance wouldn't pay it. She claims she sent me the treatment plan, SHE DID NOT. when I was on the phone w her the first time she said emailed me twice with the quote which I never received and even told her on the phone I didn't get it, but needed to go back to work so I paid it. Somehow got the receipt emailed no problem. She never once said they were molding a mouthguard or doing anything to have us purchase one from them, but she did mention at the beginning of the call she needed to wear the one they gave her. And I told her, and so did my daughter, that she never got one from them. She did not say anything about the funds being collected for a mouthguard, it was strictly the 8 cavities and fluoride. I sent my daughter to CVS to buy one as soon as she left. My daughter said they did not do any moulding for one, the dentist never mentioned one and never stated that's what they were doing. He took an X-ray to "see the cavities on her back molars" After hours of fighting with them, the front office lady says she needs to investigate if the moulding was done and call me back. This also happened in 2023, they overcharged, tried to keep it, I fought and they would only give me a "credit" for her to use up. (Absolutely ONLY reason she still went there) * I seriously doubt she even had 8 to begin with, this is a fraudulent business and I strongly urge everyone to avoid * This is common practice for them, look at their other reviews! read more

I was visiting Tempe for the day and decided to go shopping at Ikea and have lunch while I was there. Well I managed to dislodge my crown. I called the office and Rosie was super helpful and nice. ( first impression ) She was able to get me in within the hour. They had a cancellation so it worked out perfect. I showed up a bit early did the usually paper work and was in the chair within 20 minutes. The 2 techs were great that assisted me with good attitudes and the doctor was on point and fast to repair my cap. The whole interaction was extremely pleasant. Though an issue I keep having is if I have to cancel or reschedule the front desk lady is very rude about it. Once I was sick and she said you have to cancel in advance and now I have to find someone to fill your spot if I can. Like I'm sorry I woke up sick. You want me to come in sick ?!!? Another time I couldn't find childcare as my partner works all day m-f. I'm her main caregiver and she did the same thing to me even though I cancelled the day before. This place is the worst! In April I saw them for a broken crown and exposed root canal and needed a second opinion. Also, I asked if they needed me to get my X-rays from the first place dentist I saw. ROSIE replied, emphatically, "no". The dentist was majorly distracted because his son visiting so I had to wait for him to finish his visit and deal w interruptions during the appointment. He eventually got around to seeing me and said that I needed prophylactic antibiotics and I scheduled the procedure w Rosie who said she would get a prior authorization so I know what it was going to cost and what was covered by my insurance. It's about to get bumpy so buckle up... Days before the appointment I called and asked Rosie mfor antibiotics and what of the prior authorization ? Day two, I call again and now she's annoyed w me, now says, are you sure you need them? After more hmmm'ing and hawing , she places her hand over the receiver and yells to the staff, 'Does anyone know if she needs antibiotics?' Naturally nobody knew what she was referring to, took her hand off the receiver and said 'the DOCTOR isn't in so, you can either do it without the antibiotics or reschedule. She also said she had forgotten to get the prior authorization. (I wondered why am I getting a "professional" opinion if I am making the decisions for myself, without adequate information? I bit my tongue) and said, 'reschedule but pls have the dr call me.' The second appointment came and they called me to reschedule because, 'dear dear Rosie' said," it's my fault! I forgot he had that date marked off but I scheduled you anyway." I said well, I would have had to reschedule because he STILL hadn't ordered my antibiotics! She gave me a loud hmmm, like I was out of order for reminding her! I said, Im sorry but it's been two months for what was supposed to be an emergency and we're going to reschedule again? Guess what? The third attempted appointment came and scenes one and two are repeated. I said, have a compromised immune system. I naturally can't do this without him preparing me avoid the risk of infection! Has he ever looked at any of medical history you had me complete in my admission packet back in April? She said, I'll tell the "DOCTOR" what youre upset and hung up on me. It was now JUNE 2nd! I still hadnt gotten antibiotics. I text her where to send the script. I finally got another text asking for my email, which is in the admission packet completed April 2nd. Now months later she says dentist is referring me to a specialist. I asked, why now after all this time? Nothing had changed. If he had reviewed my history from the admission packet back in April, or even May, he would have had the same information that he is now using to refer me to a specialist. It's been months now! After an hour or so she sent me a text, "Dr. said it's always our goal to ensure our patients receive the best possible care, whether with us, or at times with specialists. In your case, Dr. re-considered his original plan after you addressed your concerns. He felt, you know you better, so wanted to ensure your concerns/outcomes of the past don't repeat themselves. Hope that helps." (Which answered nothing!) blah, blah Later that day, she texts asking me if I got the referrals. Then I got another one saying, "nevermind, I take it back, I didn't send it." (WTF) Eventually, I got this, "Here are a few Oral Surgeons we refer to. You'll have to confirm if they take your Ins. when you call them. And you can take the AZOral one I sent you. What does that mean? She never sent me anything about AzOral. (SMH) July 11, I've finally made it to the oral surgeon I was referred to! Phew! The end right(?) Nope! Now, I've learned that 'dear, dear Rosie never sent my X-rays, or records with the referral. I had a feeling that could happen w Ms Rosie so requested them w 3 texts, and 3 calls but dear, dear, INEPT, LAZY Rosie, never complied. So X-rays for a third time!!! (Sidebar-This did turn out to be a very good oral surgeon who, by the way, also referred me to another dentist). Lmao Now, one would think, it's over. Right? Nooo! Months since my first unfortunate encounter w EICON, still w the broken tooth considered by EICON to be an emergency. But that's not all... Now, on a Saturday no less! I get a call fr EICON!!! After all of the hassle, they did NOTHING but annoy! Now they're saying I owe them $80! Because now the insurance won't pay them for taking X-rays!!! Remember, I asked if they wanted me to bring my original X-rays and ROSIE said No. Now months later, due to their incompetence, they have the nerve to try to bill me! It's unfortunate to write this review as the majority of this office is kind and friendly. The issue I had was with the woman that works at the front desk. I don't know her name as she doesn't introduce herself. She's condescending, rude, and makes you feel uncomfortable. I was scolded for arriving early for my appointment. I was told my appointment would of been canceled on the spot if my insurance changed. Also you get charged a "office visit" fee that you are unaware of. Not sure if I will return to this practice simply because of this one employee. Management needs to take a look on how patients are treated in the lobby. These guys told me I was at risk for periodontal disease and recommended a srp; There was 3 or 4 teeth that had recession but I can't remember the numbers. They said my srp might not be approved by the insurance company because there's no bone loss, she very clearly said there's minor recession and almost didn't record it. Srp's are usually not covered by insurance. They told me they haven't heard back and it's been almost a month, I called back just to schedule a regular teeth cleaning. They refused me service saying I have periodontal disease and their proof is that I signed a paperwork approving the recommended srp treatment. I found out that usually srps are not needed unless there's recession and bone loss. I am young, I don't smoke, drink, floss regularly, water pike every day, and I use fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash. I'm transferring to a different dentist that my friend works at where I can TRUST the practice not to be holding me hostage for a simple teeth cleaning. Been coming here for several years and have never had an issue. Everyone is very friendly and they're usually flexible when working with my schedule. They're super efficient and a normal cleaning appointment usually doesn't take more than an hour. The hygienist and doctors and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately this will be my last visit as I will be moving soon. They also just renovated and updated the office to be more modern and it looks great! I went there and got myself checked out and told me that I had 13+ cavities and, basically told me I had one on each tooth. I was beyond shocked and then they decided that I need to go fix it immediately for $3000+. I didn't have that kind of money obviously so decided to hold off for a bit. But, my hygienst - Yvette has been so amazing from the first day I met her - very professional, calm, courteous, and she made me "Fall in love" with doing deep cleaning, it was by far the best "DEEP CLEANING" I have ever gotten in my entire life that I was so excited to come back and do the other side in a jiffy. And it was the best numbing experience ever, Yvette this is your gift! Stephanie and the other staff that sits in the front are the most sweetest people that work together in making it affordable - well, at least for now! LoL. Their highly professional staff--from the dental assistant to the hygienist to the front staff--is welcoming and open to answering any kind of question. I have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist, but never feel anxious when I come here. That was the fastest teeth surgery I've ever experienced！The dentist was really nice, during the process I didn't feel any pain. HOWEVER, I found out the price for teeth extraction is extremely high (2 for more than 2000$), I don't have insurance but when I checked up other places, it cost 4times less (around 600$ for two wisdom teeth ). I have been coming here for nearly 3 years. I love this place, the staff are friendly, all the way from the doctors, nurses, and reception staff. Rosie especially goes the extra mile, she cares for her patients and treats them like a family. They are so kind and the always remember your name and your preferences. I hated getting x-rays done and they respected my wishes to only have them done every 18 months. I never thought too much about which dentist I go to. I just graduated from college and hadn't been to a dentist besides my family one back home.. Eicon has been a very poor experience. Unfortunately, I needed a deep cleaning. I was quoted a certain price after they looked at my insurance. They said insurance would cover 90% of the procedure so I agreed to pay it and signed the paper. However, they completely blindsided me AFTER my deep cleaning appointment and told me I would actually have to pay for %40 of the cleaning. I'm just out of college and a public school teacher. I could not afford this! I wouldn't have agreed to do it all at once had I known the actual cost. When I showed them the signed agreement that had me paying %10, they told me there was nothing they could do even though it was their fault! Now, I know insurance is difficult to deal with regardless of which office you go to, but this is not the only reason I am upset with Eicon. The actual dentist was an absolute jerk to me. The first time I met Dr. Dale he made an unprofessional remark about my appearance which gave me the impression that he was hitting on me.. Not what you want from your dentist! He was very impersonal every other time and did not seem to care about explaining things to me. One time he literally said "let me give you a few websites to look up at home so you can come back and ask better questions." Basically insulting my intelligence! He acted like he didn't have time for me and my questions about my dental health and rushed out of the room. The dental hygienist actually apologized for him! The ONLY reason I am giving Eicon 2 stars instead of 1 is because my dental hygienist, Evette, was wonderful! She was professional, thorough, and extremely nice! She was the only reason I stayed as long as I had. They also called me on 3 different occasions asking if I would like to move my appointment to earlier in the day.. Which I don't really mind them doing, I just thought it was weird that it happened for almost all of my appointments.. If I wanted an earlier appointment, I would have made one. Eicon Dental was a VERY pleasant experience for me It had been years since I had been to the Dentist, and had a terrible experience at my previous dentist, so needless to say I was a bit nervous/scared. The whole staff was so friendly and kind to my apprehensions and put me at such ease. Michelle was so pleasant to talk to on the phone when I initially made the appointment. She was also the first person I saw when walking in, very welcoming and had new patient paperwork ready for me to go! She also remembered me the following days after my initial appointment when I called with questions regarding my 'take home' care plan. Its always nice to be remembered! :) Rose was GREAT when I had questions regarding my insurance. After I saw the Dr., Rosie was on the phone almost immediately with my insurance company and provided me with a printout of the services that were covered and the final price for my dental work. It was reassuring to see my final costs and a breakdown of what each service would cost and what my insurance would cover. Yvette, the hygienist, was very thorough and efficient. She didn't ask me questions (as previous hygienists did!) while cleaning my teeth, knowing I obviously could not answer them!! My teeth looked and felt UNBELIEVABLE when she was done cleaning and polishing them. Bonnie, the Dr's right hand man was FANTASTIC! She really put my nerves at ease during my whole experience. She was VERY knowledgeable regarding the dental work that was being done. She was humorous at times, and really made me feel like I was one of her family members, that she really cared about me. She molded my temporary crown, which looks PERFECT! I am so happy with the work that she did and how great my broken tooth now looks. Dr. Acosta is the most friendliest dentist I have been too. He really broke everything down for me. He was very informative and was open to what worked best for me. Because I hadn't been to the dentist in years, I was scared to hear my report and how many issues that may arise. He informed me of the most urgent matters, took care of them the next day and never put any pressure on me to get the rest of my work done immediately. Eicon Dental is the best dental office I've ever been to. Stephanie and Rosie always greet me by name when I visit and are efficient when it comes to billing and scheduling. Alan and Yvette are gentle and friendly and take care when doing X-rays and cleaning. Dr. Dale is thorough and recommends procedures only when they are necessary. In the past, I've had dentists pushing me to get root canals and crowns, and Dr. Dale has not even mentioned the necessity for such procedures. He is patient and listens, and most importantly, takes the time to thoroughly explain his professional opinion and diagnoses. I feel welcomed and comfortable every time I visit.
