Stopped in for drinks and apps with some friends before a movie last night. Very cute spot. Drinks were great. Spinach and artichoke dip and caprese salad were excellent. There's a nice little parking lot right behind the restaurant that made parking super easy and convenient. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

I've been to Eighth & Hays a few times and it doesn't disappoint! Their pizzas are great and the sandwich I got was delicious. The Cali steak sandwich was cooked perfectly and the spicy mayo was a great touch. The space is not huge but has some communal space and does have smaller intimate tables. They do take reservations but do accept walk ins if there are open tables. The service was great and very attentive.

My dinner. The Fish of the week Flounder

The atmosphere is cozy stone , fireplaces. Comfy cool . We had a caprese warm salad That was delightful. Husband had a salmon dish I cannot comment but I posted a picture I had the fish of the week. Jamaican Jerk Flounder on a mango peach coulis with corn pico and plantain tortillas Though the flounder seasoning was dusted it was cinnamon in some places and nothing others but the jerk was pleasant when it was there the coulis could have been more mango or brightness forward The corn pico and plantain tortillas (house made) were nicely executed. It was finished with sifted cojita and cilantro and red mid hot pepper rings. $23 Wine was Paso Robles Tom Legend nice Cabernet not bold but balanced. I give 4 stars for creativity, interest, and flavor synergy that mingled through the meal

Loved this spot! Came with my family around 7 on a Saturday evening after a long day of moving. There was a wait, but we spent it at the bar with Riley - who was great and made fantastic drinks! The pizza was delicious - we tried four different ones and they were all fantastic!

If you have read my reviews before you know it takes alot for me to give a five star review. Beginning to end our evening was perfect. This was our first time here & took advantage of the Wednesday & Thursday night special of wood fired pizza & bottle of house wine for $40.(×2) (Take a look at my pictures and you can see our Pizzas) we ordered 2 upon the suggestion of our server. So glad we did. This is smaller neighborhood restaurant with a warm & intimate feel. It is 21 and over to enter the establishment. Service was attentive & friendly. Save room for dessert it was fabulous! Look forward to going back to try the chef board (charcuterie) & some of the craft cocktails.

Elegant date night decor and truly delicious meals, Eighth & Hays earns its reputation. The service was fantastic, and while the ambiance was a tad dark at midday, the pleasant conversation and the wine tasting that accompanied it made it all a treat. I ordered a chef special as an appetizer, the gator bites (deep fried alligator) and while the larger pieces were unfortunately a bit chewy, the smaller pieces were absolutely delicious. My entree was the carnivore pizza, and though it was piled high with so many toppings that it felt a bit sloppy to eat, the various meats worked together perfectly in a symphony of flavor. I'd definitely go back just to see how the chef elevates other meals. It was really fantastic.

The vibes are super cute and trendy inside. We came for dinner on a weeknight and were seated immediately. They also had a great weeknight special of $40 for a pizza and bottle of wine! I had the funghi pizza, which was pretty good, and their ranch was amazing.

This place doesn't offer reservations for less than 6 people, which is a bummer when you find a place that's good next to the Carnegie Music Hall of Homestead. So I always try to make sure we have enough time to wait for a table, if needed. I have been here a few times now and the service is never a complaint. We split a bunch of stuff, as there were 4 of us. I ordered an espresso martini, which was one of the better ones I've had in Pittsburgh. The BBQ chicken mac and cheese was simply not good. There are so many other awesome options on the menu, I'd skip this one honestly. The cheese blend was not great, it almost looked colored in a funky way for a mac and cheese. The color wouldn't deter me, but just saying there was some interesting choices that went into this dish. Another person disliked it, and then one friend liked it...at least it got ate! The bruschetta was an interesting take...it had pesto! It was a little too much pesto, so I had to scrape some off. But it was actually really good and different! The pepperoni pizza...this is why you wanna come here! I have never had a bad pizza here, whether you go with a classic or a fun pizza! The crust, sauce, cheese, pepperoni...it all was very good. The baked shrimp dip is the last thing and I will say it was one of the unexpected loves of the night. It reminded me of a spinach artichoke dip, but with shrimp! It was creamy, flavorful, shrimp was cooked nicely, and the little breads they give you with it were better than crunchy chips as they had some give to hold all the yummy goodness! All in all, we will be back again and again!

Quality ingredients and great price for crafted wood fired pizza but execution is not my preferred as it's heavy and comes out soggy. I can see why 8th appeals especially with the cozy fireplace, medieval bistro lights, upscale decor with cocktails & wood fired pizzas to boot. But that Pizza is soggy even though we sent the Supreme back for a second shot in the oven after downing a slice, and for me, I like cheese, but to taste and the additional heaviness of a lot of cheese so other ingredients are not visible, was not enhancing the flavor, while the tomato flavor of the sauce was absent on both the Supreme $15 & Pepperoni $14. Sazerac was good for $11, not a huge pour served up but great flavor. Specials had no prices on the chalkboard or on the printed, which I always find annoying so I wrote them in on the menu attached. They are a bit spendy $42 for filet, $14 for blistered shishito peppers.. Service was aok, they were short staffed and making cocktails at the same time, it took a while for order, food, checkout, so patience in practice ;) Visiting PIT so this likely a one & done in a neighborhood we happened to visit but for those that like soft pizza, lots of cheese and not taste the sauce, this would be your spot.

After seeing positive reviews we decided to try the pizza. We ordered a margherita and a pepperoni. We were disappointed to find out that the milkshakes mentioned in other reviews were not available. The pizza was not our preferred style. I found the crust to be a bit soggy and the Italian seasoning was overwhelming for my taste. Some might enjoy this style, but this is probably not a place that we will revisit. My order was to go, but I noted that the interior was modern and lovey. Lots of people having a good time seated at tables eating pizza and drinking wine.

It smells like a wood burning fire and has a warm feeling as soon as you walk in. The wine selection has both house and premium selections. Happy hour includes the premium selections. The food menu has good options for almost any eater. There are multiple pizzas to choose from or you can build your own. If the parking lot is full, you can park on the street. The location is on the main road and close to the waterfront.

    Good Red Blend, highly recommend

Had an enjoyable time here. Cool ambiance and vibes. Nice wine selection. Family and I had a great time tasting a little of this and a little of that. Review your bill at this place. They charged us for an extra bottle of wine, hot oil for the pizza, and to swap out one of the cheese options for our charcuterie. Sometimes things like that makes an enjoyable experience frustrating. The food and the wine was good. Wine was a great addition. The dessert was okay...it seemed like it sat in the fridge for a bit, but the family enjoyed and that's all that matters. Service was fine, all waitstaff were friendly.

The bar's space was renovated to transport customers to the secrecy of the Prohibition era. Through OpenTable, I made a reservation for my husband and me. We entered the building through a side entrance on Amity Street, checked in with an employee at a desk, and then waited for another employee to walk us to the 100-year-old elevator (it still works!). On the fourth floor, we saw old bank items such as safety deposit boxes and mechanical check printers. We pushed a button to turn a clock handle to a certain time, and then a hidden door opened. We entered the bar, and two bartenders, Ryan and Robbie, greeted us. The menu listed vodkas, gins, tequilas, mezcals, liquors, bourbons, ryes, rums, seasonal drinks, and mocktails. Food could be ordered from the Puerto Rican restaurant Secretos De Mis Abuelos that is located elsewhere in the building. The bar consisted of a few rooms, each of which had glamorous interior design such as antique furniture, wallpaper with bold patterns, paintings, and dimly lit lamps. Beyond the bar was the Library, which had shelves of books and an old radio. The bartenders patiently repeated to us that we should pull a certain book to open another secret door that would lead us to the Red Room. We finally figured out which book to pull, and we walked down stairs to a parlor with rich, red hues, plush seating, and (at least at that time) a more private, quiet setting. I ordered the French martini (vodka, Chambord, pineapple juice, raspberry vanilla shrub, and raspberries) and the Painkiller (spiced rum, coconut rum and cream, pineapple juice, orange juice, and nutmeg), and I rate them both as 5 stars. Each of those drinks cost $13 plus tax, credit-card fee, and tip.

There's a main space with the bar with surrounding tables, a smaller back room with some comfy chairs, and a hidden room underneath that's fairly spacious. The service was great and I was able to get a drink really quickly. I liked how they let the birthday person bring in outside food and utensils and set it up in the back room. I got the Hawaiian Hangover drink and it was delicious and well crafted. I'm sure I'll be back!
