Went in for the first time today for my son's haircut. The shop was really modern and clean. Our barber was Ceez. My son can be a little challenging with the haircuts, but Ceez did such an amazing job keeping him distracted and engaged. My son gives Ceez a 10/10. Definitely recommend! My son has had his hair cut here a couple times by Ryan, who did a great job and worked well with my VERY energized 6yo. And then, today we brought him in to get his hair braided by Carolina! She was GREAT! My son is tender headed and while he requested the braids, was not the happiest customer throughout. But as SOON as he saw his hair, he was SO happy and keeps saying how much he loves them. We really like this barbershop, but am unfortunately the choice of music isn't really what I am comfortable with for my elementary aged child N word, f word, hoe, literally everything bad you could think of. Ace push my hairline back and I didn't realize he was doing until I felt a burn in my folecules which indicates your barber push your hairline back every time I get cut from him I get bumps he is not clean and very artificial and not professional . Also I am black and the way he cutting my hair he was using a come as guide my hair like I was white.He fuck up my hair for months and didn't realize it until someone pointed it out so I can't get a haircut for like 1-3 months until old hairline grows back as he has been pushing back for months. and I am regular will not come back again. read more

After letting my hair grow for about a year it was time for me to cut it again with some quality. and I haven't had my own real Barber in about 6 years so I thought I might do some research. When I came across eightnine, I knew I was in the right place. I wasn't getting off of work until 5 and had to run a couple of errands so I called ahead, And asked them if it was okay that I showed up at 7 and they were kind enough to ask around to see if any barbers at any appointments at that time and NOEL didn't, so he took my appointment. I have to say it is the best cut I ever had in my life- no joke!! Everyone was kind and courteous and I was even offered a beer while I waited. Noel took his time and was thorough and was a real cool cat. I didn't realize that I was going to so many chop shops and that a hair cut could look and feel this fresh and clean. I like this barber shop. Things I like: Parking is easy. Street parking and a nice parking lot nearby. The shops very laid back. Jose the Hustler is very professional. He is on time and accommodating for his clients. The shop is clean. They have WiFi. They have a restroom. There is an excellent cafe nearby. Jose is my usual barber and he makes a good cut. He's like a J-Lo back up dancer but instead of slick moves with his feet he has the talent in his fingers. Give the Hustler a pair of scissors and he'll make you look like a stack of Lincolns. I would like to report an incident to owner that how you are losing customers. I went to store 6 pm to get a hair. How ridiculous it is! The door was closed by 6 pm. But it suppose to close at 7 pm on weekdays. There were enough barbers.there were no customers at that time. They refused to give me service at that time without any good reasons. read more

I have been bringing my son here for a couple years now. So it's a bummer that I won't be going back. I do like the way they cut his hair but today we had an appt. at 4:15, which I received a text confirming this appt earlier in the day. We arrived a couple minutes early and there is no one AT ALL in the shop. We go in and sit down thinking maybe they are in the back or the restroom. We are sitting there for a few minutes when someone walks in and says that he saw us walk in from across the street. Ok. There is a park across the street. But whatever. He asked if I was here for an appt. I said yes a 4:15 appt. he tells me that our barber is picking up his car and will be with us shortly. We waited 20 min before we left. Who knows if he ever showed up? Or how long I would have been sitting there. I told the guy to thank our guy for completely wasting my time. He just said "sorry". My time is important too. Had he called to let me know he was running late, I would've gladly come in later. That's why I'm so mad is because they just made it seem that we were so unimportant. I'm glad you have so much business that you can treat customers this way. Over it !!!! read more

My co-worker referred me to this place. She must've caught them on a really, really good day because we had a horrible experience last night. As a single Mom w/ 3 sons, I had to learn how to cut hair just to save money. On the rare occasion when I'm able to afford it, I take my sons to the barber. Yesterday was such a time. We were attending my company's Valentine dinner and my youngest son & my daughter accompanied me as my Valentines. And since this place was right around the corner from the event, I THOUGHT we came to the perfect place. My kids and I pulled up a few minutes before 6:00 pm and noticed one customer in the chair, the other chairs were empty, and everyone was loungin' around just choppin it up. A typical barber shop scene. For some reason my son (12yo) was reluctant to go in. He kept saying he'd rather I cut his hair so I could save my money. He's always been a sweetheart. After convincing him that I could afford it and that he absolutely deserved it, we finally went in. Upon entering, we noticed they close at 7pm, so I'm thinking we've got plenty of time. As soon as we walked in the barber working on their ONE customer says THEY can't take us because they're waiting on (phantom) appointments. I asked him, "Don't yall close at 7pm?" He says, " Yes, but we're waiting for appointments coming in. You can come back tomorrow when we open at 9am. Sorry bout that." I gave them a dirty look, scoffed at them and walked out shaking my head. My kids knew I was pissed. My son tried consoling me saying that it's OK because he didn't want to get his hair cut anyway. We arrived at our dinner engagement early so that I could gel the hell out of my son's afro. My poor son, he still looked handsome though. Of course we'll NEVER come back to this place, but I had to share my experience to maybe help somebody out. After reading these reviews, it seems this despicable behavior is a pattern with these fools. Superficially the shop totally LOOKS good, but on the inside...their hearts are DAMN UGLY!! read more

Once that's nailed down, I'll be a repeat customer. There are a few things that are going to mess that up, however, as happened here: 1) when I asked the guy to fix a few things, he obliged, but exchanged an exasperated look with a coworker; 2) the fix-up wasn't actually what I asked him to do, so I ended up hating the cut; 3) the guy took a straight-edge to my bald spot and cut my head in several places.
