I booked a last minute urgent cut because my son needed to perform at his school spring concert ( the next day). His hair was overgrown and long to say the least. The gentleman that cut his hair seemed very patience and meticulous. The cut took longer than I expected but I was glad he took his time. My son isn't one for photos so I will put the barber's photo. I would recommend this place. I was quite impressed with their pool table they had for clients that knew how to play. Seems like a laid back, chill spot. Salon ladies need to step up their game. Able does not listen to what you want. He messed up my hair bad today. I asked him to cut one third off the top and he gave me a soccer player haircut, he laughed and said nice and light right. Do NOT get your hair cut done by him unless you want to be next to bald. I have been a regular tipping over 10 dollars each time I visit and although today was the worst cut hes given me it's not a rare occurrence. Do not recommend. read more

I've been going to this barber shop off and on for several years and been very happy with every visit except for my most recent attempt. I had an appointment with Krizz that I unfortunately had to cancel with 20 minutes warning due to a family emergency. When I called informing him of this, he began talking about next time I will be responsible for a cancellation fee in a manner I can best describe as huffing and petulant. Despite not putting down a deposit I went in and gave him $20 for the cancellation. I let him know his attitude on the phone lost him a customer and he responded with sarcasm. I have been cutting my hair with Gerardo for about 5 years and I was really happy to see him open up his new shop. $20 dollars for a haircut ($25 with appointment) is a steal compared to other local barbershops with similar set ups. The place itself is very clean and everything is updated and remodeled. You can really tell that an effort was made to make this place a cool spot to come chill and get a fresh cut. Since it is a new shop everything inside is new, new chairs and new furniture throughout the shop so no matter where you sit you are guaranteed to be comfortable. As an added bonus there is even a pool table inside with plenty of room to get off a game while you wait for your haircut. Now for the cut itself, this guy Gerardo is masterful. He's been giving me the cleanest fade for the past five years and he knows exactly how cut my hair. He's done an excellent job of working around my thinning hair and I really appreciate the job he's done. To top it off Gerardo is also a great guy who always has something interesting to talk about. Clean place, comfy couch, nice aesthetics, big screen TV & a pool table for entertainment if one has to wait. I've always called ahead and asked if they're accepting walkings with in the next hour, they'd either tell a little later or come in. I never had an issue with either barber (wish I could remember their names) with making in that time frame. Before them, I use to got Supercuts. This is more local to me, more of personal experience and fairly priced. The only complaint is I wish they accepted more modern/popular/convenient forms of payment (Credit/Debit & or Paypal/Venmo). I've been coming here since November 2019 and usually go to my cousin's barbershop who have been cutting my hair for more than 15 years, but since relocating, Express Barbershop have not disappointed me. This place is new and clean. They have plenty of comfortable couches, flat screen TVs, and a nice pool table for waiting customers. I know exactly what I want when I get my haircuts. JJ took care of me a while back and he was all ears when it came to being specific about my haircut. He listened to what I wanted and took care of business. Today, I came in for a haircut but since JJ wasn't available he made made sure to scheduled me with Gerardo (owner). He was the same and was all ears when it came to my haircut. Gerardo and JJ are great at their job and both are great peoples. I feel comfortable getting a haircut from both of them. Note to customers: A lot of people come in and think they can get a haircut right away. For walk-in customers. Barbers usually have appointments and that's why it's important to give barbershops a call in advance if they're taking walk-ins that day. Whether it's a day or two or couple hours before getting a haircut to see if they have any walk-ins available. So don't be pissed at any barber shops that can't get you right away just because of your lack of planning. And if you're walking in, you should understand that you will have to wait no matter what unless someone cancelled their appointment at that moment. For customers that have appointments. If you can't make it, make sure you call in advance for courtesy. If you don't call in advance, your barber will be waiting for you when he could be giving a haircut to someone else and making money. And if you say you're a paying customer, then you should pay the barber for missing your appointment or being late. If they had a policy, would you rather pay for missed appointments or lose your deposit if you miss your appointment? Either way, you wouldn't be pleased. If something comes up and you can't make it the day of, make sure you call during business hours! It's common sense. Nobody is in the shop during non-business hours. These people have families and lives of their own, too. You missed your appointment, so either you wait or come back for the next opening that day or you reschedule for the next opening, which could be a couple of hours later or next couple of days. We all have problems but don't redirect those problems to anybody else but yourself. read more
