We were actually staying in the Westin next door but many services were shut down due to the wedding taking place on the premises so we wandered over to the Ocean Club and were so impressed with the quick service. We had dessert here last night and the peach blueberry cobbler served in a warm cast iron skillet with vanilla ice cream was AMAZING!!! Also has a great selection of wines, by the glass or bottle. We tried the Chenin Blanc Sauvion, Vouvray, Loire Valley France 2017 that was fruity, flavorful and enjoyable as an after dinner/dessert wine. Today we stopped in for lunch before we left Jekyll Island and we were so, so glad we did! We had the Fish Tacos and Mediterranean Wood Fired Pizza and both were exceptional! Located in the Jekyll Ocean Club, this Italian restaurant did not disappoint. I had the Branzino fish. Although I didn't like having to pick through the bones, the fish was delicately flavored and delicious. Its presentation was stunning. I wish I had remembered to photograph it when it was first served. My husband had the lasagna Bolognese which he enjoyed. The real hit was the roasted Brussels sprouts in balsamic vinegar. The food here was pretty good. The service was OK. We were staying at the hotel. The dinner was great. My wife got sick from the fruit at breakfast and they apologized a lot. We were on the island for 3 days and ate here twice. The decor is good but you don't have a beach view because of the dunes. The kale salad was a delight for the tastebuds with the fresh garlic mixed with the honey lemon vinaigrette! For the drinks, I had the Mott and mulberry and it was seriously Christmas in a cup! The service was good and the ambiance was nice, it's just that the food wasn't worth the price. The Seafood Pizza was the only hit, it was a good size and delicious. But we were disappointed with the Goat Cheese Hush Puppies ($9) and the Lobster roll ($16). The lobster roll was tiny, and the chips were extremely brittle. The hush puppies were raw in the middle (because of the cheese) and extremely sweet because of the syrup. The quinoa salad and the Brussel sprouts were alright, but for the price, we would expect more food / higher quality food. read more

There were hits and misses throughout the experience. Overall, not a bad place to eat while in Jekyll Island. Good: - Decor & ambiance. Very elegant and relaxing. - Wine selection. I had a great Sangiovese. - Wood fired pizza. Pepperoni and a more interesting one with arugula and pears were both very good. - Very fresh salad. Delicious veggies and white balsamic dressing. Not so good: - Lobster slides (no longer a lobster roll on the menu). Buns were very dry, I just ate the salad with a fork. - Key lime pie. Just didn't taste like lime, at all. Huh? - Service. It wasn't our server's fault, she was very warm and welcoming. But, it took our food quite a while to arrive - both entrees and dessert - and server was running around like a mad woman. They either need additional staff or better management of table rotation. You can eat here and generally enjoy your meal, but the prices are rather high for the overall experience. We had dinner here with one other couple. What a beautiful restaurant. They had an excellent menu and wine selection. Their heated outdoor seating was really lovely. We had a really low key slow meal and it was nice. The goat cheese hush puppies were simply amazing. My wife's Pizza with all the roasted vegetables was amazing as well. I ordered the Jekyll Island Bowl because our server said it was awesome. I was so disappointed I could not even eat it it was so salty. It was beautiful to look at but not to eat. I didn't complain but our server never even asked if it was okay or what was wrong since I didn't eat any of it. She seems surprised that I didn't want a to go bowl for it. I've been in Food Service my entire life... I've even waited tables and if someone was not eating their food I would have specifically asked if something was wrong or if I could replace it. I didn't say anything because another person in our party ordered it as well. He said that it was very salty and that he would have never ordered that again but left it at that. I love salt but oh my God. In addition the mixed vegetables that they added tasted Frozen. Again the space was lovely. A slow pace at dinner makes me happy. The company was great. And I had enough hush puppies to tide me over until I ate frozen yogurt down the street. I'm sure if I had ordered something different this could have easily been a four or five star. Boyfriend and I live on St Simons, went for a nicer dinner on a Thursday night and my god will we be back! Three words: Goat Cheese Hushpuppies. We shared two apps, a salad and two entrees. Half dozen raw oysters, best cocktail sauce I've ever had and a WATERMELON mignette... omg y'all, fantastic. Next to that was the Goat Cheese Hushpuppies drizzled in a peach compote. 100% ordering them again. Every flavor was delectably subtle. We then split the Quinoa salad with brie, peaches and a citrus vinaigrette. If I had to pick my least favorite of the evening, it was probably this one and it was still fabulous(if you're a fan of a good quinoa salad that is.) For mains, boyfriend ordered the Angus Sirloin(MR and it came out Med+ :/, minus a point but not a whole star) Steak tasted like steak, paired with fingerlings and fried onions. Good, not amazing, next time will order one of the gorgeous looking pizzas. But mine... holy cow. I order the Catch. Pan seared triple tail, over spicy southwest quinoa and TOPPED with a cilantro and pepper cole slaw. A bite of each alone were decent and then I ate them all at once and was blown away. After apps and salad, I ate the whole thing. And of course, dessert. We never order dessert at the restaurant. But when there's fried cheesecake on the menu, I had to. Top 5 best desserts I've ever had. (Side note: I secretly ordered the peach/BlackBerry crumble with vanilla ice cream and it too was good but did not match the fried cheesecake!) Justin was perfectly attentive, well-versed and had suggestions and answers for all our questions. My only complaint: peaches could have been riper and I didn't recognize anything on the wine list. I can't believe our experience. The overall service was below that of a McDonalds. Every single day there were issues including under cooked food, dirty utensils/napkins, and bad/spoiled food. Two days in a row the napkins were dirty with lipstick and various sauces on them. For dinner....I ordered the special, which was swordfish. When they brought it, you could smell it was bad. After one bite, that made me sick, we returned it. The hush puppies were cold as well. Overall the food was really bad. Very disappointing. For breakfast, the sausage was severely undercooked. I had to send it back and after 20 minutes, still no sausage links. We asked for the check and then we were overcharged. I would only come here for pizza and beer. I would give zero stars if I could. For over $300 a night, the service isn't even on par with Best Western. read more

The atmosphere, restaurant and outdoor patio were beautiful. Definitely worth checking out for a drink indoors or outside by the gas firepit, however, the food was slightly disappointing... Maybe it was what we selected. The salads were good, especially the caprese which had green tomatoes, peaches and brie. The Corsair pizza was okay, but not as mouthwatering as anticipated from the description. Other reviews raved about the cauliflower with goat cheese creme, however, we were disappointed by it's preparation and lack of flavor. Cauliflower is served in a large wedge, with the outside blackened and center nearly raw. The crab stuffed shrimp were lacking flavor and desperately needed a sauce. read more

The venue is beautiful and the wine/cocktail list is good. We had raw oysters as an appetizer that were tasty, but overpriced given that several of them were comically small in size. For dinner, I had fried soft shell crab served with cole slaw and french fries. The crab and slaw were pretty good. The fries looked like they were previously frozen and poured out of a bag from the freezer aisle. Nothing we had here was bad per se.
