We stopped by Sunrise Grille for a quick meeting while exploring Jekyll Island, and honestly, this place was such a cute little island find! The atmosphere is super laid-back and casual--exactly the kind of spot where you can kick back, enjoy a drink, and not feel rushed. It definitely has that local-favorite feel, and I can totally see why it stays popular with both locals and visitors. I ordered a margarita to sip on while we chatted, along with the hush puppies and fried shrimp. Everything was really good! The shrimp was delicious, the hush puppies were the perfect little Southern bite, and the margarita was a fun way to make our quick meeting feel a little more like vacation. This was my least favorite meal of the trip. The shrimp and grits was not traditional or well made- it was fairly bland and not great. The other food was fine but nothing special, though this place is a good 20% more expensive than the rest in the little village area for what they're offering. The kids meals are a rip off. $11 for a tiny cup of Mac and cheese is a joke. I'd skip this one in favor of the numerous other options just steps away- note that they also do not have their own bathroom, you have to walk around the complex to get to it. read more

Popped in here for a snack, very cool, laid back vibe. Maddie was a fabulous bartender and gave great advice about the island. My husband and I shared the Crab cake Sandwich and fries. It was so fresh and delicious. We will definitely try it again next visit to Jekyll. The dinner menu is a little different than lunch, great prices on both. This is a sweet little place to go to for breakfast while was there conference. The food was hot. It came out quickly. The staff was so friendly. It was clean. The only thing I wish is they had real milk or real creamer for the coffee and not the little individual creamers. You also can sit outside. I'd go back again and again it was lovely. read more

We were craving crab legs and Sunrise Grill met that craving with a bang! Cute little restaurant in the beach village. My daughter said it was her favorite! My favorite lunch spot on Jekyll Island never disappoints! The Paradise Island salad with grilled shrimp was excellent. Plentiful ingredients, not just a bowl of lettuce, were fresh and tasty. The house dressing is delicious! Fish of the day (trigger) sandwich blackened was well- seasoned and a generous portion. The sandwich's accompanying fries were hot and crispy. Casual and relaxed with fresh seafood... what more can you want beachside? We found this spot online and detoured to get here on the trip home from Savannah. It was our first time on the island;and, but it won't be our last. We found this restaurant and the seafood was swimming in the morning and on our plate for a late lunch. That's fresh! I had the local catch and it was flaky, juicy and perfectly blackened on my sandwich. My wife had the mahi sandwich, also blackened. The fish was moist and the rolls fresh. Both sandwiches were accompanied with seasoned fries that were done just right - crispy on the outside and tender inside. The drinks were done right and the rum punch a good seaside choice. Excellent breakfast. I had the French toast & my husband had eggs, home fries & sausage. The day we were there, they were getting their a/c fixed, but you would almost not know it! A few tables inside were moved to make it easier for the workmen. Service went on without a hitch & staff worked around the repairmen with ease, humor & always with a smile. There are limited options on the island so we opted to try this place wanting something cheap. We got seated right away on a Saturday for lunch. Both indoor and outdoor seats are available. My table tried a few items on their basic menu including Cesar salad with fried shrimp, Mahi fish salad, onion ring, calamari with Asian sauce on side, hamburger with side salad. The onion rings were thick and well fried. Calamari was also crisp since we ordered the sweet chili sauce on the side which I highly recommend. Unsure of how much the kitchen would over or under cook the burger, I ordered mine medium well hoping it would be medium. But it seems as they did more well done which was disappointing. Overall, the dishes were simple and also simply prepared. Prices were higher than we had hoped for but the portion size was fair. Service was nice and the food was brought out in an appropriate speed. Not sure I would go out of my way to return here should I return. read more

Small restaurant but fantastic food and service! We had fried shrimp, crab cake sandwich, & red drum blackened sandwiches. The fish was the absolute best fish sandwich I've ever had. Yesterday the 3 of us went to eat breakfast here. 2 received their food within about 15 minutes and the other one didn't receive their food until 15 minutes later. I saw at the bar for a quick lunch. Ordered a slaw dog with Mac and an ordered of GA wild shrimp fried with their cheese grits. Needed a hotdog after the seafood I've been eating on the island. I'll just say the service at the bar was fantastic and the fried shrimp was arguably the best I've had in my life. The seasoning they used is spectacular. We called for a pickup order - a shrimp poboy and a fish sandwich, each at $15, and hushpuppies at $7 per their online menu. When I arrived they said the order was $60. The price I was changed for the sandwiches were $18 and $19 and $7.50 for the hushpuppies, THEN I was charged a 20% service fee that wasn't mentioned on the phone. (Nor did they mention the price difference.) I get that it's a tourist trap, but beware false advertising. Definitely wasn't worth $18 and $19 for sandwiches. read more

They have definitely went up in price. I am pretty sure french fries haven't went up that much. A side of fries is $5.29 I believe. So I was expecting a decent size. They also charge a 20% to go fee for "utensils and condiments". This is a money hungry business and the guy at the bar is rude and unpleasant. The food came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor, with generous yet reasonable portions. The staff were upbeat, professional, and kept great energy even though the restaurant stayed packed all morning. We sat outside and enjoyed a nice breeze, which made the experience even better. The restaurant is easy to find; it's located at the end of the building on the left when you enter the shopping center. The breakfast menu is simple to follow with plenty of great options, and the prices are very affordable. Because it's so popular, we waited about 30 minutes, but it was worth every minute. We enjoyed talking with one another and even chatting with others while we waited. The best part of the visit was definitely the combination of delicious food and quality family time.
