This is the first time I've seen an Eileen Fisher outlet and I was so excited! If you are looking to get both current and past collections at a discount price, this is the place. The current collection is about 20-25% off and the clearance items is another 30% off. They also have a renewed section for gently used items at drastic discount. As someone who turns in my EF clothing, it's the first time I've seen how it's turned around. I just wish I live closer so I can go when they have better sales. I just walked into the store where 4 employees stood around the cashier's island. Not one greeted me. Not one offered to help as I browsed. Not one acknowledged my leaving. Eileen Fisher has been my go-to brand for year since they use natural fibers (I have RA which so I need clothes that breathe) and petite sizes. Normally I when I shop I stock up and spend serious bucks. Yesterday, lured by a 70% off sale, I could not find anything my size that didn't have synthetic material! Love Eileen Fisher clothes and am very happy that the only west coast outlet is close by in San Leandro. I always know what to wear, Eileen makes it easy. Have spent hundreds of dollars over the years but the fabrics are worth it. That she accepts all used clothing back for $5 each garment is another plus. Returned a few and got $60 credit. I'm a fan of this store. It's an outlet for a high end brand. It's I think the only one of it's kind in the Bay Area? I'm in my early 40s, and am starting to change my style of clothing. Trying to aim for a clean look. Eileen Fisher achieves that for me. I can't afford to buy more than one item at a time, however, I'm always excited to go shopping here. Just signed up for their email list, because I want to get that extra discount. Located off the freeway, you can pop in and out if you like. The salespeople are all very nice and welcoming. I have never had any issue in all the years I've been going there. I've been an EF fan for many years, but I'm going there less and less because the colors are always the same as well as the style. Multitudes of t-shirts and the same style, over and over and over again. Years ago I purchased some things that had a bit of style, but now I just can't keep going there and seeing nothing but mainly black and white t-shirts. Is EF actually designing anything? I'm reading some of the reviews and am a bit surprised. My Eileen Fisher experience has always been great; I've never had an issue with assistance. When they get busy with a good sale yes you might wait a few minutes for a dressing room but it's not that long. The clothing for Eileen Fisher outlet is well priced, I wouldn't be able to afford Eileen Fisher otherwise. In a retail store it is expensive but the quality is timeless and comfortable. For those women that fluctuate in size like me (especially during the pandemic) this clothes brand is forgiving and you still look put together. read more

I'm not 30 years old yet, but I know good quality clothes when I touch them. The style here is more of my mom's age, but I drop in for blouses to wear underneath suit jackets, etc. For some reason, everything was $65 or under last weekend. There was a LONG LINE of older ladies outside the store. I got a linen jacket for my mom for mother's day and some work blouses (samples were $15) for me. The cashier ladies are also older so they are unbearably slow at the register, even with two of them to one register. But they were nice. Come here with your mom and then head over to more "mom" stores like Talbots and Ann Taylor next door. read more

I happened upon these reviews while looking for the store hours and feel compelled to chime in. From the Peninsula, I've been stopping here on my way to the East Bay forever. Is the service great? Rarely. Do I care? No. It's an outlet -- right? Do you want to wear EF at a discount or not? If you want "better" service, then drive to EF in Palo Alto or The City and shop there. You can get some faux-friendly assistance and you'll pay a mint. Those who are expecting impeccable service are forgetting how much these salespeople are being paid. I say: self serve as-needed and get over it. And anyone who disses the clothing .... well, perhaps EF is simply not for you. But are the clothes "worth it'? Obviously they are. We purchase in a market economy and people line up to buy them. Natural fibers or not (they do both), the clothing is versatile, easy to wear and complement a moving and changing body. They have some killer fabrics and interesting silhouettes. Pack a single EF outfit and you're good to go (travel) for a week. I have shopped here before and love the quality clothing. Even though I'm only in my 20s and not their target clientele I Manage to find items I like. On today's visit I was treated like my purchases didn't matter yet the older, white women were given dressing rooms etc. I was never even asked for my information to add to my profile etc because it was a clearance day and assumed I was only there for good deals. I really don't want to write this because I want to keep it to myself, but I am so crazy about it, I must tell you. I am 31, 5'8", 145 lbs, hourglass figure, and about a size 6ish in J. Crew/ Banana/Gap for your reference. I am not the typical target audience for Eileen Fisher. If you sent me into a regular Eileen Fisher store, I would have looked at the products, then the prices, laughed, and walked out. But then I went to this store and that all changed. First, if you go during a sale the prices are more than reasonable. They are downright amazing! Eileen Fisher prices typically range from $75-300, which is probably worth it, but still more than I would pay. This store has items from $10-$200 (but usually $10-$100), which makes it more than worth it. The thing I discovered about Eileen Fisher is that all the clothes are made with the highest quality fabric I have EVER seen. I LOVE clothes. I LOVE shopping. I LOVE sewing and fabrics so I know my fabrics and Eileen Fisher works very hard to make sure all the items are made with the highest possible quality fabric made to last for years and years. They also work hard to make the cuts flattering on many body types. Knit tops are fitted, but not tight. The fabric drapes near the body without clinging or hugging it. Your curves are accentuated in the most flattering way. I cannot rave about the cuts and quality of the clothing she makes more. The sizes are cut large. I wear an XS or S in just about everything (I've never worn smaller than a medium in my life!), so it's definitely targeted towards a more "womanly" figure. Much of it is geared towards petite and plus sizes, but the clothes still look amazing on my hourglass figure. Even though I'm smaller than the target audience the things I want to hide are hid well in these clothes and the things I want to show are shown off modestly. Everything here is made in solid colors and with a mostly basic type of cut and style. The clothes do go with the overall trends/styles without being too trendy. The clothes are classic, mix and match well, and I would intend for them to last for years. Get on their mailing list and go buy lots of stuff! Even this factory store stands behind their quality when an item disappoints. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this store! The deals are amazing (once got a $300+ dress for $29!) and the people are so nice. I bring my 2 year old daughter in with me and they entertain her for me while I'm in the fitting room. They have books and puzzles to play with while I shop, so it's always a great time for both of us. LOVE IT! read more

I'm a fan of Eileen Fisher and almost always buy from their spacious factory store rather than full retail. The store has a wide selection that changes frequently. And there's pleasant staff who know their products. Yes some of the clothing is baggy and saggy but I like to work with layering (in part due to our ever changeable climate) so I find the pieces that work for me. The clean lines and simple styling is a great look for many people. In the store, the clothes are displayed really well, not packed in and all jumbled up. The changing room is especially nice with big rooms around a large central room with lots of mirrors. Some reviewers here have mentioned not being greeted by staff at Eileen Fisher Outlet and a lack of helpfulness. Huh? I have not found this to be true at all. Perhaps I am unusual in my shopping preferences but I rather hate being chatted up by a store clerk with feigned friendliness the moment I put my foot in the door. I expect retail staff to be ready to help me as soon as I ask for help but the rest of the time to be quiet! Eileen Fisher staff is excellent at paying just the right amount of attention to their customers. I, for one, appreciate this very much! read more

I like their cotton stuff but everything else is polyester (plastic fabric) or needs to be dry cleaned - and it's really expensive. Some items are discounted appropriately and others are ridiculously expensive and I don't get why even at this outlet. I love the idea of wearing flowy publicly-acceptable pajamas to work, and some of the clothes in here were so dreamily soft that I just wanted to cuddle with them all day. Unfortunately, fair trade and all of that, I really cannot afford them. I did find a few items that were on deep clearance, but still had to take a deep breath before getting them. OK, a few. Even more unfortunately, the service was terrible. The sales gals were aloof and didn't appreciate my business one discernible whit. They could take a note from the ladies at Ann Taylor. read more

Edit as of 11/8/18 - I did have some items fall apart. That said, many years later, my Eileen Fisher is still going. Out of the 10 pieces I originally bought, there are a good 4 that I wear every month. I would buy from them again -- only at the outlet prices -- and so I'm taking my review from two stars to a 4 stars. You can wash these clothes on gentle and hang dry to keep them going. They still look nice. My original update is below, and I'm still not happy that some items fell apart quickly, but others are here and kicking years later. While the clothes here are beautiful, after owning them for about 9 months I would never buy from Eileen Fisher again. Everything is dry clean only, and I've had some items fall apart after being hand washed once or twice. These clothes are made of material that is not hardy. It might be eco friendly and drape beautifully the first few times you wear it, but lots of these fabrics are so delicate and high-maintenance that this clothing is best suited for faeries. What is up with all the terrible reviews on the customer service? I guess I lucked out because I had no less than four friendly sales associates offering assistance. I found the store to be clean and orderly and the dressing rooms were far nicer than any others in the same plaza. I've been a fan of Eileen Fisher since I randomly bought a silk blazer a few years back. Definitely one of the key pieces in my wardrobe. The regular prices are steep but if you luck out at the outlet, or even at a Nordstrom Rack, you may find some really great deals. I wish there was an outlet down in SoCal. read more

After reading these reviews I went in not expecting much. I visited on a busy weekday, and was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in the door and had 2 other sales people check in with me while browsing. When ready to try on clothes there was a friendly attendant who checked in on me, offering to fetch different sizes. Maybe they read the negative reviews and made some changes, but my experience was nothing like the others reviewed here. This was my first time going to this store or even trying this brand, one of the sales people explained to me what they were all about, their quality, etc. I was looking for clothes that travel well and was shown which fabrics would work. read more

Eileen Fisher outlet store on Marina Square has displayed the clothing very elegantly. The fashion projects taste and is easily dressed up or down. Two very nice features: One, they found an outlet in New England that had the jacket I wanted in the size they wanted. 2. They have an interesting rack of previously worn items that are in pristine condition at a very reasonable price. The staff is very helpful. Oh my goodness! An outlet of the best clothes in the country. Eileen Fisher makes beautiful clothes. Separates of washable natural fibers. Silk, wool and cotton. Her clothes come in petite,regular and plus. The outlet has limited plus sizes, but I still manage to drop close to $500 every time I go in there, but I really do come out with thousands of dollars of great clothes . . . Silk separates, in black, stone, navy blue . . .jackets, cardigan but my best find to date was a cashmere coat for $99!! It was my first time in any Eileen Fisher store. I was excited to try the clothes! It was a strange and unfriendly shopping experience, with the exception of the older lady at checkout. Nobody asked if I needed a size ever. finally I checked out and was given a pile of clothes wrapped in paper... no bag? I agree that everyone seemed really depressed working here. I like that the clothes are organic, recycled, etc, but I hope they are nice to their employees. I will probably just shop online next time because it was pretty uncomfortable here! read more

Great find! Great selection! Great prices! I hesitated to drive to San Leandro to check out this store fearing that it would be a waste of time. Not true. There's a huge sale going on at the moment, $25.00 off a $50.00 purchase. The store was filled with merchandise, some last season, some this season. Everything was discounted, some things really inexpensive...like the $29.00 jeans. I found a couple of things to add to my Eileen Fisher collection. The staff really helpful and made a few suggestions to try things I wouldn't have found myself. As Arnold says, I'll be back. read more

I can always find what I need for travel, business or dinner out. We scored big and got some beauties! The staff here are very nice and told me about the points system which the not so helpful sales people on Fillmore street in San Francisco never mentioned, yet I do most of my EF shopping there....not anymore! The sales are quite impressive here. I am not a loyal shopper to this store but my mom sure is and when she was in town it was a must stop. The clothes are marked down to some degree and as you sift through each section the markdowns get better. It does not seem like an outlet store, the only way you would know is because of the summer clothes on clearance other than that the merchandise is pretty new. The coats are drastically marked down 50% which seemed crazy because we're into winter. The sweaters also priced down depending on the material but there was turqouise cashmere turtlenecks that went for $109 which is still a good price for a sale. I was in awe when I saw an alpaca coat (yup, that's right alpaca!?!) that originally went for over $500 and was selling for $220 or something around there. Prices that you can't go wrong with. The service was not bad at all, my mom was able to get a room quickly and did not have to wait very long for the purchases. If this is your brand of choice check out the outlet, lots of clothes to go through. read more

I am a loyal EF shopper and I've been to all four company stores. In fact, I try to plan vacations around making sure I'm close enough to drive to a company store. I've been to the San Leandro store twice now. Both times I left wondering why I spent hundreds of dollars there after being treated so poorly. Today's visit was so disappointing on many levels. The selection was great which is ok but the service was horrible. No one helped me in the fitting room. When I went out to look for more clothes, they took everything out of the room within five minutes then told me it was my fault for not having a special tag around my selections. Uhm. I don't work there. I don't know the rules. Perhaps a sign inside each fitting room would help the customers know what to expect. Then my clothes were haphazardly folded and thrown into a bag with no tissue paper as I would expect when clothes cost more than $100 per item. I also observed things that bothered me. One of the cashiers was asked what the price was on a dress and she scolded the customer on not seeing the tag hidden underneath the sleeve. It was really appalling. No one was greeting customers around the store or asking if anyone needed help. I should have left my items and jetted out of the store but that wouldn't have mattered to the women working there today. They were condescending and annoyed by customers anyway. I really hope someone reads this and takes it to heart. The EF brand deserves a work force that can represent outstanding customer service. It's the only thing that matters since the clothes can be found just about anywhere these days. read more

This store does not even deserve a star. There is no such thing as service in this store. I avoided this store for two years because the salesclerks are never helpful. They don't acknowledge you when you enter. Today I decided to give this place another chance. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I walked in and was not welcomed nor acknowledged. I walked around and not once did someone approach me to ask if I needed helped. Two salesclerks were helping someone who I thought was a customer only to find out she was another salesclerk. I asked if I could try on a sweater and was pointed to the dressing room by the salesclerk that was sitting. I finally spoke to the assistant manager letting her know how disappointed I was. The salesclerks should take some training from those at Neiman and Nordstrom. I would rather pay more for great service than get a bargain for very poor service. I love the Eileen Fisher brand. Their products are excellent and well made. The regular prices are a bit high, but the prices at the outlet are right on. They also have a great clearance section with amazing deals. I usually buy 2-5 things and find something 90% of the time. I travel a LOT for work, so I appreciate clothes that are elegant and look like suits, but roll up and pack like sweaters. read more
