The bagels here are pretty good. I got the Asiago Cheese Bagel with brisket and cheese! I believe that is my new fav. The meat was tender with gooey cheese! The sandwich is actually called Texas Egg Sandwich. I just changed the bagel to the Asiago Cheese. I also got the Caramel Macchiato with almond milk. Very good! Food was alright and came out quick but the customer service could be greatly improved. Idk if it is just the CLT area but everyone seems so unhappy. I used to come to this Ballantyne Einstein's every week for years. The staff was professional, consistent, and actually understood basic customer service. Then the entire team was replaced, and the place has gone completely downhill. I stopped coming because the new employees were rude and clearly untrained. I decided to give it another chance today thinking maybe they had improved. They have not. The drive-through employee taking my order sounded irritated that he even had to speak. No greeting, no courtesy, just attitude. When I got to the window, it was the same employee. He took my card and asked what I wanted to tip. I said I didn't want to leave one. It's a drive-through, and the service had already been terrible. He then refused to process the payment. He just stood there staring at me and would not hand my card back. This location has always allowed customers to select their own tip on the handheld device, which exists specifically so employees can't manipulate the screen. Instead, he held my card and stared at me until I felt forced to say "fine, 5%." He selected 20%. That is not confusion. That is an unauthorized charge. After overcharging me, he walked away with my food. At that point, I no longer trusted the situation at all. When an employee is bold enough to override a customer's payment selection and ignore direct instructions, what else are they comfortable doing? I threw the food and drink away because I wasn't about to eat something handled by someone who had just openly stole from me and treated me like shit This location went from reliable and well-run to hostile and unprofessional in a matter of months. Replacing experienced staff with employees who intimidate customers for tips and override payment amounts was a catastrophic decision. I will never return. read more

Thursday 24, 2025, Conley Circle, Charlotte, NC Yesterday I went on line to order a dozen bagels. I paid for them and told them when I would be there to pick them up. Well when I got there the kid at the register said they were 4 cinnamon bagels short for the order so what do I want to replace them with. I said I will take 4 Harvest Bagels. All of a sudden a young girl comes over and said that they gave the 9 bagels that were available away. I was shocked that the bagels were paid for and they gave them away. The girl had no reason other than they gave them away. I was a little hot around the collar at this point so you can imagine my response. How can something be paid for and someone gives them away or resells them. Totally unbelievable. I will never step a foot into this Einstein Bagel shop again. This location has a drive-thru, music to my ears, especially on a Sunday morning. Service is good, just double check your order just like you would at any other establishment before pulling off. Theres plenty of parking at this location, easy to get in and out of and This location is much larger than the SouthEnd location and has lots of tables inside. Drive thru vs going inside: I haven't found one to be quicker than the other and I've tried both many times. Keep in mind that the earlier that you get here, especially on the weekends, the better bagel selection that will be available. I have seen/heard people lose their mind in the drive thru behind me when the kind employee tells them that they are out of the specific bagel. Lets be realistic people!! read more

For what they charge, you would think they would pay to hire staff that can read a ticket and treat customers better. I placed an online order this morning and the crew member working the drive through had a terrible attitude. He informed me that they didn't have sesame bagels. I am not sure what is going on in that employee's life, but he definitely has a chip on his shoulder and was kinda rude about it. So I chose plain bagels and moved on with life. When I got to the window, the worker handed me a bag full of random bagels and one of the two cream cheese containers I ordered was missing. I informed the employee and he rolled his eyes and sneered because I had the audacity to ask him to give me the cream cheese I paid for. I was getting ready to leave when another crew member, in the background, told a customer that sesame bagels had just come out of the oven. . . I wish the dude at the window had said that from the get go. I asked him about it and he said that they weren't cut yet and that there was nothing he could do, so I left. Zero attempt at anything resembling customer service. Which is crazy because his coworker behind him was literally taking care of a customer in a kind way right behind him. I got home and realized I was shorted a side of chips, but at least I caught the $4.99 cream cheese mistake and got them to give me that before I left. All in, they didn't give me the bagels I ordered, tried to short me on cream cheese, and did short me a bag of chips. For what they charge, this is unacceptable. I won't be coming back. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find an Einstein's Bagels near me. This was one of my favorite spots in college but it's been a while since I've lived near one. Coming back after so long, I was curious to see if it would still live up to expectations. And it did! They have a huge variety of bagels, plenty of sandwiches that so far have all gotten my approval and the service has been great on my recent visits. My current favorite bagel is the spinach feta and my boyfriend really enjoyed his sandwich on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. The onion and chive cream cheese is my absolute favorite. I appreciate that you can get any of the sandwiches and change out the bagel and cream cheese options if you don't like the way it comes originally. Get the twice baked hash brown as a side! These are probably my favorite thing on the menu. They're soft, cheesy and delicious. There is a huge dining area and there isn't anything fancy about the ambience but you won't have any issues finding a seat, even for a large group. The coffee is ok; I'd honestly skip it and go across the street to Summit Coffee. Overall, this is on the list of my top breakfast spots for a quick and inexpensive meal, especially if you happen to be craving a bagel. read more

Einstein Bros was a favorite stop on Monday's when I lived in COS. I would often stop by on Monday's to pick up the bakers dozen special for my colleagues. Since moving to NC, I've frequented the establishment twice (different locations). I ordered through the app. There's a free medium coffee applicable when you order through the app. I found a special on the nova lox which included a muffin and hash brown. Food was ready within the time indicated. My husband said his food was great. He asked why I didn't get him another muffin Fosbury, told him no other choices given. My sandwich was okay. It wasn't bad but it was good. There's plenty of parking spaces. There's a drive thru which I used to pick my food. Staff was nice. Overall good. read more

I really wanted a bagel sandwich from a specific place however, they were closed so I decided to try the next closest bagel spot within my proximity and Einstein came up. I heard nothing but good things about this establishment so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the (All Nighter) with a hash brown. The bagel of choice was the everything bagel. I added onion cream cheese to the already included bacon, egg and cheese. I really thought I was eating an egg bagel because I barely had any bacon included. The hash brown was fresh. During Covid 19, we have been in social isolation and on occasion do order via the drive up window at some places. We saw employees wearing gloves but no masks. I haven't been to this place in ages; in fact, I just assumed it bit the dust years ago. The fact that it is hidden within a business park and is unseen from either of the busy Ballantyne roads that border it doesn't help; however, after running a couple of errands in the area, I found myself with a serious yen for a bagel just as I was driving by... SCR-E-E-E-TCH! Within 10 minutes, I was noshing on an applewood bacon and cheddar on an Everything bagel and it was pretty darned good. What I enjoyed just as much however, was its large and comfortable Panera-like dining room with all types of seating ranging from hi-top tables to retro leather wrap around chairs. They are somewhat reminiscent of, what I believe to be the industry standard, Brueggers. One big difference however is that they serve Caribou coffee. They are a bit pricier as my coffee and bagel ran $8.50. Most of the egg bagel combos are around 5 bucks. They also serve lunch. Rounding things out, service was friendly and everything appeared clean in spite of an unspectacular 92 sanitary rating. Ballantyne location in Charlotte, NC. Never again. There are lots of options for bagels in the area. Figured I would try out Einstein this morning and regret it. Plain bagel tasted more seasoned than everything bagels at other joints. I am sure this was from not properly cleaning work station or oven. Bacon, egg and cheese on a plain was $7 and disappointing. The bacon was raw, cheese was cold and bagel tasted like it was marinated in everything seasoning. The egg was pretty good. I like the drive thru, but will never eat here again. Cut a few more corners Einstein and you will earn the crown of crappy fast food restaurant of the year. read more

I just don't understand how I'm paying $5 for something that's essentially the size of the topside of a sliced bagel--that's supposed to be "fluffy" and appetizing... Sous-vide eggs are fluffy and moist--but not absolute mush....you enjoy foods that don't require much chewing, this may be it for you. Another lackluster visit to the ONLY bagel place around the Ballantyne area. The Turkey Bacon Avocado bagel sandwich was subpar. First, I would recommend they use real bacon that is cooked, not cold. Additionally, the turkey was not fresh. Rather, it seemed they used yesterday's Oscar Myers' packaged meat. It would be nice if they upgraded their sandwiches to look as they are pictured on their displays. They claim to use fresh products and oven-fresh bagels, but even the bagel itself was cold. Another place in Charlotte with a lot of criticism in the reviews, personally I can't see why. I'm used to the South End Einstein and this one has a larger footprint with a bigger parking lot. The inside had a lot more seating and everything is a bit spread out more with a lot of breathing room. I did notice that even with all that extra room, one thing I definitely like at the other location is the system where you place your order on one side of the line and pay on the other. It moves the line and you can queue for paying the cashier while your bagel is already being made. It wasn't nearly as busy as South End this morning but I could see it backing up quickly and it seems like this would help. Bagel this morning was great. I got the everything bagel toasted and it was warm, crispy, and crunchy. Einstein actually adds rye to their "everything" mix so you got these fairly light bright-bitter hints in every bite. Keep in mind if you don't like rye but I actually really enjoyed it. They also offer bottled AND fountain Coke products. While you're going to pay a bit more for bottled, I'll get it simply because I'm weary of all fountain machines at all restaurants. Nothing looked wrong with theirs, but I'll always steer on the side of caution because I've seen some really nasty fountain machines! I wanted to note that other yelpers reporting that the drive thru is slow, well it was wrapped around the building today. Understand that they can't pre-toast bagels, it takes time! Every single person looked lost and was unsure of what to do. Clearly the drive thru was having problems because when I left, they had two cars pulled up waiting for their orders. So my heart will always belong to the Einsteins in South End, however if you are not wanting to leave your car, this place has a drive thru! Went on a Sunday morning. I was a little skeptical since the parking lot was completely full and the drive thru line was about 4 cars deep. We were planning to eat inside anyways... but the line moved fairly quickly and the order came up in good time. I'm sure this place gets slammed Sundays so I see where people's reviews are super negative based on wait times, but hey... I enjoyed my experience. Granted I wasn't in a rush or anything. The location itself is off of Johnston Rd... the parking lot being a bit awkward to get into, but once you get inside... there's the counter where you order and then a rather large dining area (compared to the Southend location, where it feels like you are always fighting for a spot). There's outdoor seating, but it looks like it will always be in the shade (not good on cold winter mornings). Probably nice in the summer... but you may be breathing car fumes since the drive thru wraps around the outdoor area. Even though there was one cashier dealing with the line, she was friendly and took our order. The rest of the staff seemed to be busy cooking and preparing all the orders that she had taken down. Not impressed. We were trying to give our orders and there was so much confusion between the two people who were working there. They couldn't explain the sandwiches correctly and then the one that I ordered couldn't come with the bagel that it normally comes with because they were out of them. It was the Asiago bagel. Imagine a bagel shop being out of bagels. WHY? I ordered an egg white bagel with salsa and turkey sausage. It came and the egg and sausage were not nearly warm enough. I got serviced through the drive thru due to COVID-19. But baby, let me tell you about the "All - nighter" it's awesome, I mean every delectable bite oozing with jalapeño garlic aioli sauce, with cheesy hash browns, 2 eggs and bacon served on an everything gourmet bagel. This bagel is very delicious and filling, you can eat half for breakfast and save half for lunch, of course, all depending on your appetite. Warning, you can not eat this and drive because it can get a bit messy, I learned this just by being a passenger. read more

THE SINGLE MOST SURLY PERSON I've ever had the misfortune to encounter works in the drive through of this restaurant!! A blonde with a permanent scowl on her face and the rudest attitude. She is there to ruin your day and breakfast. I ordered one bagel which she handed to me in a sticky bag. I paid with a credit card which she handed back to me and quickly left the window without a word, a thank you, any acknowledgment, or a receipt. There was nothing that let me know I wasn't getting a receipt or a thank you. I waited a minute. Puzzled. Then she came back and said "What?! Is there something else you needed?" I asked for her name. She just kept repeating "what else do you need?! SHE WAS HORRIFIC. I asked to speak to thr manager, Faisal, who gave me a refund and didn't look like he was super contrite for this woman's behavior. I tried to escalate it to his boss, but no one called me back. Tired of my usual salad spots for lunch, I decided to drop by and check out the salad offerings from Einstein Bros Bagels. They had 3 salad options: Strawberry Chicken, Chipotle Chicken, or Chicken Caesar for $5. The salad looked a bit skimpy and I was hungry, so I decided to get a cup of soup to go with it. Unfortunately, they were out of my first choice - turkey chili. My choices were veggie or chicken noodle. You can get a bowl for $3 or a cup for $1.75. I opted for a cup of chicken noodle. The service was a bit on the slow side, especially given that there were at least 3 or 4 workers and only 3 customers in the place at the time I placed my order. The salad wasn't bad for $5 but not quite as exciting as some of the options you can get elsewhere. The soup was just a half step above a canned soup. This place probably won't be on the top of my list for lunch, but if I'm in a hurry, it will do in a pinch. read more
