Bossy Beulah's recently launched a new smash burger with a $5 special for their launch day, and let me tell you--it would be worth every penny even at full price. The burger was excellent with perfectly crispy, lacy edges, a fresh, juicy patty, gooey American cheese, and what tasted like house-made pickles that tied everything together. They are absolutely doing smash burgers right! We paired it with the fries and slaw, and both were the perfect complements to the meal. If you've always thought of Bossy Beulah's as just a chicken spot, it's definitely time to give their burgers a try. They may have just added a new favorite to the menu. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and parking was easy with both street parking and several lots behind the surrounding shops. Tried Bossys Beulah for the first time and it was okay. It gives me an upgraded fast food restaurant vibe. It's a really nice space, especially being in Ballantyne. The service was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They explained all the options we had with sauces and portions. The chicken tenders were great in size, they were fresh and hot but lacked seasoning. It was the same for the chicken wings, they were fried fresh however lacked seasoning. The fries were good and fresh as well. The different sauces were very flavorful. Maybe had we had the chicken buffaloed in a sauce the experience would have been different. Tried this place for the first time today. Would definitely come back! I got the chicken tenders (juicy, thick pieces) which were good. The batter could have had a little more flavor, but definitely tasty. Dijon dip was good. The potato salad was okay, not too mayonnaise-y, and a bit of dill maybe. My friend got the chicken salad wrap and fries. She said the fries were a little salty, but overall good and enjoyed the wrap! read more

Yes food is prepared fresh, but you can tell when food is rushed and lacking love. Wings are extremely fatty and the tendons ruin the crunch. Tenders and sandwiches are fatty as well. The inside is very spacious as well. All in all food 9/10. The only thing I wished is the sandwich being a tiiiinnny bit bigger. This is a relatively new to go chicken place the staff are friendly and the place was clean. Chicken is made fresh and is flavorful. I quite enjoyed the cheesy bleau sandwich. The fries were extra salty, but very crispy and then you can get a fountain drink. Is it better deal to go ahead and get a combo instead of doing things separately. Half a pound of chicken was four chicken wings. So if you're hungry skip this option. They have a rewards program that you can sign up for if you wanna be a regular. I used to be a fan, well TBH I used to be a HUGE fan. At first when there was only the Freedom Dr location I only had great experiences at BB. I recommended it often to many of my friends. I was VERY excited when the location opened in Ballantyne. My first visit to this location was not good but I chalked that up to a new staff and all. I've now been there 5-6 times since, always coming back trying to give it the benefit of the doubt BUT I have to admit reality and finally acknowledge that this is not good food. I went in this past time thinking to myself - OK, let's give it one more shot. It was the worst. The wings were cold and slimey, my chicken sandwich had a stale bun and was also not fresh, my wife had food poisoning after eating the salad. Now this is the thing - I have this rule that I don't tip if I'm standing up when ordering or ordering in an app. And also, what makes this restaurant different then a McD's? Who tips at a McD's? I just mention this because I'm ALWAYS nervous if the tip is required before I get my meal that if I don't tip - bad things will happen. Maybe this explains it? I've been walking by this place for a couple of months now when going to other restaurants around it. I decided to give it a try, finally. When I walked in, I was greeted professionally by a server known as "Bossy 6 S." He explained everything to me, which helped me select exactly what I wanted. I ordered the wing combo with house fries, Iredell Slaw, and a sweet tea. You will have to seat yourself, as there are no servers, unlike in other sit-down restaurants. The restaurant was clean and had an open, airy atmosphere. They also offered an outdoor eating space, if that is your preference. The food didn't take long, as it wasn't busy, which was unusual since it was lunchtime and there were only two other customers eating, and a total of three people ordered and left. I do consider myself a chicken aficionado, so I was ready to see how good their chicken is. I did notice that the wings were enormous, which automatically turned me off. I'm not a fan of enormous chicken wings. They did look like they would be tasty. When I bit into the chicken, I noticed it was flavorless, and all the batter fell off the chicken the moment I bit into it. The house fries were a bit salty, but delicious nonetheless. The slaw was horrible to me. The sweet tea was also tasty and had a balanced sweetness. I was disappointed with my food and threw away all but the fries. I probably should've followed my first mind and ordered the fried chicken breast sandwich. However, I will not be returning to this restaurant and do not recommend it. read more

You order/pay at the counter and the tablet is defaulted to include a tip. I had to ask how to lower the tip from 15%. Now, I am a great tipper. Unless my server is rude I never go below 20% and have been known with good service to tip 30 to 40% without batting an eye. However, I had to place my order, pour my drinks, gather my utensils and condiments and stand in line waiting for them to call out my name and give me my food on a tray. Inside seating is all open and chaotic, outside seating. There were only nine really large picnic tables that customers had to share. Now the food was actually really good. I order the exact same thing every time and most of the time it is great. Today, there were different folks working. OMG... WTF... LAZY AF... I requested extra carrots for my salad.. I'm not sure if the employees ever look at reviews, but if you do, PLEASE change your gloves. My fiancé and I needed assistance at the POS (cash register) and I just decided to watch one guy to see how they take care of themselves and the store. The man who went and helped the cashier had gloves on and touched the screen with his gloves on. Then went to touch food equipment... then touched a platter of food to serve to a customer... then grabbed their table number and went back in the kitchen without changing his gloves, not even once! 1st time at this location The Bowl, on a busy Friday evening. We ordered The Beaut fries, Iredell slaw and lemonade. The chicken was flavorful throughout the entire sandwich, the fries were Hot tasty and SALTY for my blood, but I couldn't resist them they were crunchy to say the least, the lemonade is sweet but, good (I watered it down) but still flavorful. So good I went back to pick up food for Sunday lunch, ordered the Beaut for my honey and the Quinoa salad with chicken bites for myself. The salad was delicious along with lemon vinaigrette but prepared very sloppy. The portions were small aka butternut squash which I finally discovered I like, pumpkin seeds, cranberries on the bottom under the mixed greens, BIG size chicken bits on top. First off, sooooooooo happy this place is here. We've been waiting for you BB! We've ordered a few times via the online ordering system and have found that to be super convenient. It's always ready when they say it's going to be ready... now - for the food. Can I start with that ranch dressing? What on earth is in that!?! It's by far the tastiest ranch dressing I think I've ever had. I want it on everything. EVERYTHING. Fries are amazing (and fresh) & the sandwiches are to-die for.... The one constructive thing I'd add is that the chicken bites are sometimes tasting like they are fried in old-oil. (Maybe it's the same oil as everything else, but for whatever reason, you can taste the 'old oil' on the chicken bites more than anything else. I'm sensitive to it, but hubs and kiddo seemed oblivious to it... just a strange taste that we've all experienced before. This has happened more than once too - so I've opted to stick with the sandwiches. Maybe the bread and other stuff masks it best. Maybe it's something unique to the chicken bites. After addressing the staff that our food was given to someone else, that customer returned to the station with our meal and the employee looked at me and said "here you go - here's your meal" -- the meal that another customer had in his possession for over 5 minutes before realizing he didn't get what he ordered.
