We all ordered food and then sat to wait for the food to be brought out. The sandwiches took a bit to come out and I personally was disappointed. The sandwich was loaded with greens and very little meat. The bread used tasted fairly stale. Chip selection was decent and had free refills on soda. The place does have historical value as it used to be an old jailhouse, and the deco and style made it look nice inside. To me, not worth the price. No desire to come back

It looks like a few tables are open but there are signs on the table that asks patrons not to sit there. Other tables had the chairs stacked on top of then. I had the Yardbird panini which came with a choice of chips; I chose the original lays. It was a big sandwich and I like that the wrapped it two separate pieces, especially since I was only able to eat one half. I do feel like the panini could have been grilled a bit longer since the bread was not brown all the way through and it was a little soggy. Also, it was quite noticeable that they used precooked bacon, which just isn't the same. Overall, for $6.75, the meal was not terrible.

It has a very different vibe and menu than the other places in town which is a nice switch up but it is outside of the main area of town a bit (still only like a 3-5 minute drive from downtown so not bad at all). They have amazing sandwichs, soups, and charcuterie boards. Honestly, I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. The outdoor seating area is quite vast with plenty of room to spread out and get some fresh air when it's nice out! All the employees were super nice and willing to give honest suggestions on what to get. I would love to do a wine tasting and try other menu items next time I visit! Add this place to your list for your next trip!

Oof. Big changes at GDFC in the last few months. Came in for my normal start of spring trip after…read morejust being here in late fall, and the whole inside is different (less retail, more space) and several new kitchen remodel upgrades. It looks clean but isn't the same home-y spot we all loved. The kicker, though, is they changed the menu boards which now don't tell you what things are and they've like everyone else increased prices of normal items, including items that used to be included. Sandwiches used to come with chips, and now sandwiches are more and the small single size of chips are $4! Apparently they didn't read PepsiCo just missed a billion dollars in sales because they keep raising prices on Doritos. I can see add-ons for high quality products like soup, specialty fries, etc. I also know GDFC has expanded into KC, and I've been and spent healthy money at that luxury spot several times. But c'mon, this is just ludicrous charges at this point. When I realized the chip change, I asked for a refund of those alone, and the new sales terminal system took forever for multiple people to figure out. The manager on duty had to ultimately refund the whole thing, and reorder my entire order, meaning it's now cost all of us money in time. The staff is completely different - there's a chef in the back wearing a white coat like it's fine dining... the rest of the staff is friendly enough, but also not the same level of home we all got used to for many years. My sandwich finally came out, and it looks nothing like what we used to get - the Cuban is on a hoagie style roll. Not even that good anymore. No more winery inside, and limited drink options overall. And no more fresh ice cream, just overpriced "soft serve." I know we're in times that are a'changin... but some of it has gone too far. Hopefully they keep the same level of loyal business I imagine they had before. My loyalty has definitely shifted instantly to once in a while, if that.

I stopped in with a small group of friends, and found the location to be cozy and welcoming. Service was friendly and we were seated quickly. Everything on the menu sounded incredible, but we ultimately settled on a bacon cheeseburger pizza and salad. The pizza was incredible! We opted for thin crust and it was perfectly crispy, with plentiful toppings. It left me wanting to try the rest of the menu and make this my new go-to for pizza in the area (worth the drive from Leavenworth!) I am usually great at remembering pictures for my reviews, but somehow missed grabbing a single one of this meal. I'm sure because it was so good that we dug in immediately :) Definitely check this one out on your next Weston visit!

Since they do not take reservations, we stopped by early hoping to get on a waitlist. The hostess was super helpful and gave us a realistic recommendation on the best time to return when we would have a fighting chance at getting seated together. Honest AND strategic... we appreciated that! Of course as the number in our party dropped it helped, just saying! Currently only the downstairs dining area is open, but once seated, service moved quickly and the food came out fast. We ordered ravioli appetizers that apparently entered the witness protection program and never made it to the table due to a communication mix-up. Honestly, I am blaming one of our table mates for that one and not the server. Now for the important part... the cheesy breadsticks were AMAZING. Like "everyone suddenly gets quiet at the table" amazing. We shared several pizzas, and while both that I tried were delicious, the Carnivore pizza definitely won my personal pizza championship over the Meet Me in Weston. Bonus points for the crust options available too! Overall, great atmosphere, friendly staff, quick service, and really good pizza. We will absolutely be back... but next time we are putting someone in charge of ravioli accountability. Even better if they would take reservations as very few restaurants in Weston do!

Pretty mid. Nothing to write home about, but it gets the job done if you're hungry and want something fast and familiar. I had a classic burger and fries combo. It tasted fine -- not bad, not amazing, just basic comfort food. Definitely more about convenience than culinary flair. What really bumped this up to four stars for me was the staff. Super friendly, polite, and efficient. The service had a genuine, welcoming vibe that made the overall experience better than the food alone would suggest. Ambience is standard for an exchange eatery -- clean, simple, and functional. You're not going for the atmosphere, you're going because it's right there and it's easy. All in all, Charlie's is a solid option when you want something quick and familiar without leaving post.

We got our fries, then waited about 5 minutes for our sandwiches. the amount of meat on these sandwiches is totally ridiculous. Maybe a tablespoon at best. The chicken Philly meat was dry as heck, so flavor at all. The pepperoni steak sandwich was the biggest joke of all--barely any meat on the bread...you could not even see any of the meat then the sandwich was closed. We used to like to eat there, but no more for a while. Plus the staff was kind of rude. We took pictures of the food and the signs on the wall...it was like two different universes! Why would they give you fries and not the sandwiches at the same time. Weird as ever--who likes to eat cold fries? No, not me.

They have plenty of inside seating and a lovely deck for nicer weather. I did notice that the more the dinning area filled the louder it got. My hubs ordered the special and the $2 margarita. I got the herb chicken bacon pasta. The margarita was terrible! It tasted very watered down and lacking alcohol. He did not even finish it! The daily special sandwich was a beef brisket with slaw, jalapeños and Gouda cheese. He said it was very good however he could not taste the Gouda at all. The sandwich came with salt and pepper fries that are definitely a show stealer! They were a wide thin cut and seasoned perfectly. My pasta had a generous serving of herb chicken on top of Bucatini pasta in a creamy garlic sauce with spinach, bacon and cherry tomatoes. It was flavorful without being over garlicky. I would have liked if it was served with some bread to soak up the delicious sauce. Our server was attentive. Our food came out quickly. Overall it was a good experience though I would avoid the margarita special.
