Finally tried this new location, I love a good bagel and theirs definitely dont disappoint! They have a ton of options to choose from flavor wise on the bagels and the shmears (cream cheeses). The vibe inside the building was very country/farm style, had a few big tables with seating if you wanted to eat in there. They also have a drive thru at this location which is an awesome perk if you need a quick place to grab a bite in the morning! The biggest spot this place is lacking is the customer service. The girl at the counter seemed to be in an awful mood. I initially was going to give her the benefit of the doubt because everyone has bad days, however after seeing other reviews for this location I see a theme on the bad attitude with the customer service comments on others reviews as well. Other than that love this place, the garlic dill shmear is fantastic on the everything bagel, highly recommend! read more

There's so much to say about Meshuggah Bagels! Best in KC if you want a good chew to your bagel (as they should). However, there are a few caveats: 1. If you're someone that likes cream cheese schmear/spread, and you don't mind eating your bagel at home, just buy your spread from a grocery store. At Meshuggah, it's SO expensive to add schmear. Any bagel is $2.25, which I think is reasonable. But to add only 2oz of specialty schmear (which covers a single bagel if you're liberal with your spread), you have to pay an extra $3.50! Even if I was to splurge, I feel like the cost of the cream cheese shouldn't be more than the bagel...? 2. If you're someone that is going to get two bagels, and you don't mind them having the same schmear, it may be worth it for you to get the 6oz tub of schmear and order your bagels separately. This is for those that really want to apply liberally or have some spread left over just because it's a better deal. For example, if you purchased two "bagels with specialty schmear," it would cost you $11.50. However, two bagels at $2.25 each ($4.50 total) with a 6oz specialty schmear ($8) would give you a total of $12.50. It's only $1 more for an extra 2oz of schmear... 3. The bagels do NOT come toasted, but can be toasted on request at no extra charge. 4. Service is SLOW. I had only one customer in front of me when I ordered two everything bagels (not toasted) with two 2oz schmears, and I was waiting for maybe 10 minutes. There were two employees, one of which was also manning the register. If you're looking to be in and out, this is not your spot. If it's busy, plan to wait 20-30 minutes to get your order. I am loving the new location outside of Liberty that has a super convenient drive thru option! My newest obsession is their everything bagel, lightly toasted, plain "schmear" with the Nova smoked salmon, lettuce, tomato, & onion! Best "sandwich" ever! The breakfast sandwich's are also another great option if you're wanting more of a meal. Highly recommend these delicious bagels made locally & fresh daily. read more

Do you like those packages of bagels that are kept in the refrigerated section of your grocery store? If so, then get over to Meshuggah and order one of theirs. You will never want a grocery store bagel again. My visit this last week to the new location in the Shoal Creek neighborhood reminded me of my stops at the old Liberty location before they closed, so i'm glad we have one in the Northland again. I almost always order the Everything Bagel toasted with a schmear of one of the savory cream cheese flavorings. Got to get a few to take home also! read more

I had been to the old Liberty location once before, and while the bagels had perfect texture, they also all vaguely tasted like the everything bagel, which I did not order. I don't know about you, but I prefer my cinnamon raisin bagel not to taste like onion and garlic. I decided to try again at the newish Shoal Creek location, and I'm glad I did. I ordered a dozen bagels: 3 sesame, 3 chocolate chip, 3 whole wheat, and 3 cinnamon raisin. None of them tasted like onion and garlic. All of them were great. My family loved them. I had no issues whatsoever with service. The women behind the counter were friendly, even though it was 15 minutes to closing time, and I received my order promptly. read more

The lox bagel is delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the combination of flavors and taste. The cream cheese is not like the kind you buy at the store, and it's smothered in it. Probably too many calories to count, but worth it. The salmon portions are horrendous. I couldn't taste any, that's how small the portions are. Very pricey at $11 for a lox bagel. I'll still come back though because I'm addicted to the lox bagel. read more

Happy we have a location in the Northland! I visited a few times, only through the drive thru (which is my favorite perk). The bagels are always fresh and tasty when I order them. The workers always have a smile on their face and bonus if you bring your pup, they give them a treat! read more

The customer service as meshuggah was bottom tier. The girl who came to take our order was quite blunt and never even smiled. I understand if you had a bad day but her behavior was unwarranted. While another girl behind the counter making my bagel she TOUCHED THE BOTTOM OF HER FOOT and proceeded to continue touching my food. It was disgusting. The lady working was super kind and friendly. We showed up less than an hour before closing on a Saturday, and happily still served us. I personally love the bialy toasted with vegan cream cheese and my husband enjoys the onion bagel toasted with vegan cream cheese. Well, if I could give more stars for product and less for service, I would give 4.5 for the bagels and cream cheese and probably 2.5 for service. There were 2 customers at the tables in the shop & a person behind the counter. I wasn't greeted or asked what I needed. So I asked which flavors were in the case and choose two. I then asked if cream cheese was available...at this point, the employee asked, "Have you ever been here before?" I said no and was made to feel like a bad student who hadn't studied for the test. I just wanted plain cream cheese. I then asked if bagels were sliced and was told no. So I asked for them to be sliced. Another person came out of a back room and sliced my bagels, packed my cream cheese, bagged everything, and told me to have a good day. I honestly felt like I was interrupting their day. Not a pleasant experience at all. BUT, the whole wheat bagel I got was absolutely delicious. A few secs in the microwave and a big smear of that cream cheese and it was yummy. This is the new Meshuggah Bagel location near Liberty - on 152! The bagels here are fantastic! When they closed the Liberty location, I would drive to 39th street occasionally bc I craved their crunchy outside and soft yummy middle! Their cream cheese selection is first rate! And I am a massive fan of the turkey bagel sandwich! But this location has atrocious service. I have been here a few times now, and it just seems to get worse and worse! I went in today to pick up a mobile order - tried to pick it up in the drive thru but they were telling everyone to just order at the window - so the line got stupid! I parked in front and went inside at the time suggested on my online receipt - and I was greeted with a blank stare. I was the only person standing there - no line (which surprised me - but now I know why - nobody wants to deal with the sloppy service). When I stated I was there for a mobile order, I got "NAME?" And I replied. Without checking, the clerk said "it's not ready yet" and she proceeded to slice, toast, spread and wrap FOUR more bagels. Once complete (and there was zero hustle in her work), she grabbed a bag that had been sitting on the back counter THE ENTIRE TIME, (the ONLY bag sitting on the counter) and set it in front of me and said "oh, I guess it was ready." Ok - if that's how we are gonna do things, Meshuggah - I will have to find yummy bagels elsewhere! I can't pay top bagel dollar for such horrible service. read more

Outstanding Bagels & cream cheese!! Great customer service, and charming store interior! I love the everything bagel with whitefish salad, capers, onions, and tomatoes! They make their cream cheese in-house from scratch! I could just eat it with a spoon. So Good!! The bagels have a nice crunch on the outside with a soft chewy inside, just like a New York bagel is supposed to be! It is really frustrating to read other reviews with people complaining about little petty issues. Meshuggah Bagels is a family-owned and operated business. If you have an issue, email them or ask to talk to them about the problem, rather than trashing their business online. Allow them to make things right. Support our small businesses!! read more
