This is my third visit this summer. In that time I have sat in the place with four massive noisy air conditioners. We placed our order and had cold air blowing directly on our table while barely being able to hear each other. The food was fine as expected for essentially a fast food joint. The real issue is the $2.89 charge for tap water. Won't be back. So your response it to have me sign up for your rewards program? That is how you address the nasty, loud temporary AC units that have been there all Summer? And charging me for tap water? Still won't be back. This management is a joke. I arrived at Einstein Bros Bagels this Sunday at 9am ,they opened at 6am according to hours of operation...they were fully staffed 6+ people behind counter. They were completely out of 90% all bagels for the entire day...they close at 2pm.. And most of the staff behind the counter were more dedicated to filling the online orders, then the customers standing there before them in line. Although they seem well staffed. They don't seem to have any idea on preparation...and supply. Evidently they weren't taught the Seven P's ... How can you be out of bagels, All bagels, at 9 AM on a Sunday and still be open until 2 PM. Unbelievable, they need a new manager. Whenever I meet up with my friend in Paoli, this coffee shop is our place. We like their lattes and their special pastries. The place looks dated and is in need of an overhaul but the cafe is clean. There was a bit of a line, so next time we will order ahead in the app and pick it up. The staff was friendly. Today is the last day myself or my family will be going to Einstein Bagels in Paoli. The service has deteriorated over the past year. Consistently these are a few of the issues: 1. There is only one of four urns that have drinkable coffee and that is cold after noon. 2. The creamer is put away by 2:00 when they are opened until 4:00(I asked an employee for the cream and they told me I could get it behind the counter in the refrigerator, the work station refrigerator!!!) 3. When entering at 2:00 the chairs are up on the tables already, making it awkward to eat in the restaurant. 4. Tables are not wiped down quickly after a patron leaves making it necessary for myself or my wife to wipe it down. 5. After 2 the machine that makes eggs is shut off when the offering is that breakfast is available all day. For the fact that 2 bagels with cream cheese and two small coffees cost around 12.00, I feel that this service and presentation does not meet the quality that would justify the cost. We are very disappointed as this was once our favorite place for a quick bite. read more

They have really improved the quality of service recently. I stopped going here over a year ago as it had Lord of the flies vibe. Run by teenagers who slapped/smushed/kicked sandwiches together. I really don't understand how some places can put out a subpar product and survive. I'm a bagel guy. Always have been. Always will be. Some might say I have a mildly unhealthy obsession with bagels. They're just my thing. I'm especially fond of bagel breakfast sandwiches. Some form of breakfast meat, egg, and cheese on a bagel just eases my soul for some reason. Don't ask me to explain this. It just is. Basically, if you put out a half decent bagel with fresh items to put in the bagel, I'm going to be satisfied. I can honestly say that as I sit here in Einstein Bros dining area that I have just had a rare bagel breakfast sandwich that let me down. First off, I don't know how this happened, but somehow they took a bagel which appeared hefty and dense in the case in front of me and turned it into a squished flat piece of bread when they served the sandwich. How do you completely ruin a bagel in 60 seconds? Second, I do prefer places that grill the eggs and meat over places that nuke them in general. But I'm willing to overlook them if the eggs are real. This place relies on premade corporate egg patties. I can get those across the street at Dunkin Donuts on better bagels cheaper. Taste of the sandwich overall... You know, there really wasn't any taste. I got it with turkey sausage. Pretty bland overall. I swear I walked in with a good mood, and I left feeling let down. I'll say that people around me seemed to like the bagels with cream cheese and they looked better than what I had. But the breakfast sandwiches are a fail. This place makes me appreciate good local bagel joints more, and makes me appreciate Manhattan Bagel much more because they're a chain that does it right. read more

It is definitely a very nice environment inside with quality bagels. On top of the bagels, the sandwiches are actually really good. However, I feel for a plain bagel it is quite expensive. At just under 2 dollars it is much more than other bagel shops. I've also noticed that the butter tastes a little strange. It also takes a little bit to get your Order. Today was my first, and last time, visiting Einstein Bagel. Ambiance - The floor was absolutely filthy and looked dirtier than most roadside rest stop bathrooms. The tables were also soiled and covered with crumbs. I also noticed that the employees' uniforms were covered in splatters or something (perhaps cream cheese?) and looked like they haven't been washed in a while. Spinach, Egg, Swiss, and Mushroom Bagel Sandwich - 1 out of 5 My boyfriend ordered this dish and insisted that the only reason it merited a "1" is because the bagel was tasty. He described the experience in one word: "gross." The egg was microwaved until it was dry, rubbery, and robbed of flavor. None of the vegetables tasted fresh. Blueberry Bagel with Blueberry Cream Cheese - 3 out of 5 I liked how there was a plethora of blueberries in the bagel. It was perfectly toasted and the blueberry cream cheese was delicious. Mmm. Note: The plastic baskets lined with paper that the bagels were sitting on looked like they needed to be sent through the dishwasher. Extremely unprofessional staff. Today I went to pick up my order and was met with very unhappy employees. Even though I was the only person in the store in the early morning hours, I was told my order was not ready yet in a very harsh tone. I had no problem waiting which I had told them however, the staff keep harassing me about how I should have called if I was coming in early. They kept harping on this and we're very confrontational. I felt very uncomfortable. All I ordered was some cold bagels and some cream cheese. I have ordered from here for other corporate events but never had this treatment. After finally receiving my order, you think since there was no one in the store they would help me to my car with the large order. Nope, not even a holding of the door as I struggled with my order. It's a shame this store has very unhappy and rude staff working. They were more worried about chatting in the back room than customer service. Never again. I ordered their Nova Lox bagel and was pleased to find out you get what you pay for! The bagel was loaded with fresh delicious smoked salmon and equally fresh tomato! I will be back for sure! I went back and fourth between giving this place two or three stars, but in the end, went with two. In reality, this is probably more a 2.5 in my book. I've had both breakfast and lunches here and generally like what I've had, from the basic bagel and cream cheese to bagel breakfast sandwiches to bagel lunch sandwiches. If you are counting calories, they do have "healthier" options for you. The problem here for me is the slow service and somewhat unclean look and feel to the place. Was most recently here over lunch and there were only two visible workers, who were trying to take orders, make orders, and collect payment for those orders. It simply wasn't enough hands to serve the people in a timely fashion. This is the not the first time I've experienced this here though, both during breakfast and lunch hours. The place could also use an slight makeover on the inside. Some of the furnishings look either broken or banged up and every time I'm in here, I find "dirty" tables and floors. By dirty, I mean crumbs left over from someone eating a bagel, and there always seems to be some sort of trash on the floor. They need to spend a little more time wiping down tables and sweeping up the floor. Generally speaking, I like Einstein's, but I've certainly been to better ones in the area. I have a nice size order placed to be picked up and I called the store to make sure to add that the bagels need to be cut as they are going on a school bus with my daughter. I would have been happy to add it to my on line order but there was no place to do that on the form. The woman said "yeah sure we'll add it to the order" then hung up on me.
