Eko Styles has been under new management for awhile now, and with new management comes a new team, and new services. Have you ever tried eyebrow threading? Or you're afraid to because you think it'll hurt? Well Mandi is a threading ninja! Super quick, you barely feel a thing, that's why I followed her from a location on 130th ave. The stylists also seem to constantly be busy as well. Personally I go for the threading, but I think I'll be trying a facial in the near future. The salon/spa is very clean, inviting and pretty. They carry Eminence products for your skin and body. Also they carry Kevin Murphy products for your hair, which, if you haven't tried them yet, are amazing. Do not go here. Is there a way to show your review of zero stars show zero? The shop owner was beyond rude! I went in to buy some hair product the other day, and to get any service was very slow. I chose the product I usually buy, and asked the lady helping me a couple of questions. She recommended I try a different one, and assured me if I did not like it or was unsatisfied I could bring it back and exchange it for the original product I had gone in for. I did not like it, as it made my hair too heavy and lay flat after only a couple of hours, even when I used just a small amount. Today my husband took the product back for me (we live in Calgary) and the owner absolutely refused to honour what we were told! I hardly used any, which made no difference, she just flat out (very rudely) refused. We were not asking for a refund, just an exchange, as we were told would happen. Flat out "NO". Very very rude, unprofessional, and obviously customers are not important to this woman and her shop. read more

I know this might suspiciously look like I am the owner after those last 2 ratings but I swear I am not! I have previously bought microdermabrasions and facial packages from Eko and I really only have great things to say! Really well priced packages and the woman, I think she is the owner? She is so professional and knowledgable! I remember when I first went there, she was above and beyond my other places I went for Groupons. They use these amazing, natural products called Eminence. I bought a package from them directly as well and it was a great price too. I wanted to be sure I gave a review as I really do not feel the bad reviews tell the whole story. I do not think it is at all indicative of what the place is like. Maybe there is a staffing problem with that one girl as it sounds like she messed up with other customers. But this place is not like some of those horrible Groupon purchases! It is a nice, clean place and very peaceful. I actually have been back plenty of times. read more

Beware.. Walked in for a brow wax. I'm new to Okotoks and havent found a place to have my waxing done. I've been getting waxing done for years and I've never had an experience quite this bad. I left with only half my left eye brow an not much left of the other. It's obvious the women that waxed my brows had no formal training as she got wax stuck all in my brows and made excuses that my eyes brows were two different sizes.. Little did I know that this was her scape goat for pulling out most of my eye brows on the left side. I'm so embarrassed.. At least they'll grow back! Take my advice and go elsewhere. read more

My stylist did a good job on my cut, colour and highlights. It is growing out really well. BUT the stylist was totally unprofessional. She spent the whole time talking to her family. I felt very ignored. I also wasn't offered coffee or tea even though they had a machine. read more

I visited Eko Styles & Spa last week, with a friend that has been an esthetician for over 16 years, for a spa pedicure. I definitely won't be back. The establishment was not very clean, we were served warm tap water, there was a lack of product to do a proper pedicure and the lighting was terrible, I'm not sure how they could do a proper job in the dim light. We had to remind them that we were to have paraffin with the spa pedicure and to use base coat under the nail polish. The polish job, was not very good either. The only saving grace, was how friendly the staff was. I won't be recommending this establishment. read more

I just had my eyebrows threaded and tinted for the second time and this time my right eyebrow was all screwed up!! It was missing half the hair almost. Not to mention the dye isn't scrubbed off my skin enough to be able to go anywhere after. Have to rush home to get it off so I don't look like a clown. I was hoping I had found a new local place to get my eyebrows done, but I guess not! I will be going back to my regular place in Calgary to get it done. read more

The girl who did my hair was very nice, although that was the only positive to the experience I had at this salon. I previously had a bad box dye experience and went in for a colour correction. All she did was add a few streaky highlights that lasted less than a week. The shampoo she used to rinse my hair after she coloured it was a blue colour and stayed in my hair for weeks! When I went back to school I thought my friends were joking saying that my hair was a blue-ish green colour but it really was! Never going back to this salon. Do not recommend when their stylists simply can't wash out a shampoo properly.. read more

If you expect to get what you ask for, go somewhere else. I asked for big flouncy bouncy curls and I walked out looking like a mangy poodle. I went back a few days later to have them fix it or refund me for it. They spent 1/2 an hour packing product in it and using a diffuser in it and still refused to refund my money ever though I still wasnt happy with it. I had an appointment scheduled for 1pm. When I arrived they informed they had 11am recorded. I verified 3 times because the woman that took my reservation was to say the least not the brightest crayon in the box. I had to give my name 4 times on the 4th time I said s as in Susan h as in happy etc. I will never go here again Extremly unprofessional and how can I not love the girl that informed me she had somewhere else to be than to honour my appointment who was covered in piercings,tattoos, red hair, and looked as if she rolled out of bed that day not knowing what a brush is for. read more
