Will charge you different prices for your meal over time! I was one of the very first customers here and regret how many times I've recommended it. One of the guys got upset with me because I didn't specify Quesabirria vs Quesabirria tacos. When we clarified he slams the tortilla down and I tell him sorry. He says "no problem" For good business hygiene/ etiquette: Your body language and energy say far more than your voice does. The taller skinny young lady will act like she doesn't speak English when she doesn't want to deal with any requests. Nice menu. Great location. I have two words to summarize this review: Birria ramen. This menu item is an absolute MUST HAVE and well worth the trip. The place is as authentic as you can get when it comes to Mexican food. For $15 I got this large tub of ramen with an exquisite consomme broth loaded with noodles, cilantro, onions, queso and super tender beef. It was worth every penny and I am confident that you will find something delicious here even if it's tacos, burritos or quesadillas. This corner of Michigan Ave has been looking shabby for years and it looks so much better now. It is obviously still a work in progress but it is slowly coming around. This place came highly recommended by my three of my co-workers. One of my co-workers frequents the market and raved about the tamales so she was very excited to find out they were opening a store not far away. This restaurant is the go-to Friday lunch spot for two of my other co-workers. They also mentioned the pork tamales and the enchiladas being very good. So when my co-worker suggested this spot as the office lunch restaurant, I was excited to finally get around to trying it. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted as usual and after reading reviews and asking my co-workers their recommendations, I decided to go with the tamale lunch special. I wanted one pork and one chicken but they were out of the pork tamales so I ended up getting one chicken and one cheese tamale. The restaurant is pretty spacious and clean. It does remind me of a Coney Island type feel. We placed a large carry out order with quite a few modifications and complications so I was hoping there wouldn't be any issues and there wasn't. Upon arrival, they were just finishing up the last of the order which I actually appreciated because I knew it would be hot and fresh. I'm okay with waiting for food as long as it's worth the wait. Everything was clearly labeled and they got all the modifications correct. My one gripe is that we asked for chips and salsa and we had to pay extra for that. I'm not sure if it comes with your order if you sit down in the restaurant but seeing as how we placed an order that totaled about $70, it would have been good customer service in my opinion to give that to us. So how did it taste, you ask? It was pretty good! It came with beans and rice, lettuce and tomatoes, and the tamales were covered in tomato sauce and cheese. The chips and salsa was addictive as well. It was tasty and a good sized portion for if you get the lunch special, you can't really beat the price. When I'm in the mood for Mexican, Dos Hermanos will definitely be top of mind. read more

Nice addition to Ypsilanti. I used to go to their market place and eat their tacos and tamales there. This is good that they finally open up a restaurant. Same Tacos as the market - good variety of meats to choose from. Took my family here while visiting the area. All foods we have are very tasty. One thing though, we agree to some other reviewer that the tortilla chips are too salty. I was allowed to order without salt and best of all, they made it, thus fresh batch. Other foods ordered include: Tostada Ceviche, tortilla soup, many Tacos varieties, Menudo (off course tripe - if you picky with your food, maybe you need to ask one without the cow feet. Yes it comes with cow feet and bones. I happen to love it), huarache, Hawaiian fajita, shrimp fajita, and off course enjoy the add on too. Friendly service and very good. Another place that I really wanted to like but failed to impress on every level. I have been here three total times now simply because I really really really wanted a good Mexican food place near work. Sadly, I am still seeking. On Sundays visit I ordered the beef wet burrito. What I got was not even close to resembling what others have posted in pictures here on yelp. Not even close. If I got what they got then this would be a totally different review. The sauce was pretty much colored water. This made the burrito a soggy sloppy mess. The beef was dry and chewy. The rice crunchy. The beans dry. Maybe if a tres hermano arrived and cooked the food in a more delicious way I would go back. For now I keep searching. read more

I was excited to find this place. I've been looking for authentic Mexican food close to home since moving back home from LA. This place is good, and will do the trick in a pinch. When a craving hits and I don't want to drive to Detroit I will eat here. The best of the meats I tried was by far the carne asada. Marinated perfectly, great flavor and texture. The biggest let down was the al pastor. It was mushy and lacking the umph of any al pastor I've had in the past. Which really breaks my heart because usually that's my favorite meat. The carnitas were alright. The flavor was there but they did not take the time to crisp it up. Overall you can tell everything is fresh and made from scratch. The price is good, except for the guac, I don't mind paying that much for guac but throw some chips in with it. read more

Terrible service. Food quenched my craving for Mexican enough, but won't be coming back. We were the only table in the restaurant, and had to ask for a refill on water, as our server was hanging out with the cooks or on her phone the whole time. Staff yelling at each other from across the restaurant, server yelling while standing right at the table. Literally been waiting for our bill, plates pushed to the side of the table, stacked, napkins on the plate, ie all of the signs we're ready to go, while she stands talking to staff members merely 10 feet away. This is really sad, as I like to support family owned and operated restaurants whenever possible! Surprised they have been open as long as they have, with such bad service. We went there on July 3 and they weren't super busy - likely lots of people out of town. Service was good and quite attentive. The complimentary salsa was lightly spiced but there was the usual sauces in the table to heat it up. I had the tampiqueña and chris had a four taco meal. Both were very filling, modestly spiced and delicious. More importantly we had none of the heartburn we've come to associate with another of our favored Mexican places. Don't get me wrong, I do love the food, however the staff barely speaks English, I do speak some Spanish, but it has become another issue with this place. I keep coming back ever so often in hopes of a change. Please know the only complaint on the food here is half the time they get your order wrong because they don't understand English, but even wrong the food taste great. I grew up on authentic Mexican food and it's my favorite food, if I don't feel like cooking it, I know I can get it here. The other problem is they run out of meat especially beef which is odd since they supply there own, there market is right downtown Ypsi. Also their prices change depending on who's working or ringing up because they don't have a set price for individual items. I have never eaten at the restaurant I always pick up and bring home. I had two steak tacos and a deep fried steak quesadilla which were all very delicious. This place gives free chips and salsa too. My son had the chicken strips and fries kid's meal. They were generous with the fries. The fries were a bit undercooked but he still enjoyed them. He didn't care for the chicken strips. He's a picky eater so I can't really attest if there was anything wrong with them. I can't complain much when it comes to getting the standard American kid meal at a Mexican food place. The service was great. I will definitely be back. My only regret is not eating here sooner. If you like Tmaz in Ann Arbor, I think you will like this place too. Very affordable and very delicious. Have been there 3x this week all ready after trying it out on Sunday night! Love the tacos. Just had the lunch special for $5.79 today - rice and beans, little salad and two enchiladas. Great vegetarian alternatives of seasoned potatoes and cheese. For the tacos variety of mixed veggies. My friend who eats the meat, loves the chicken tacos and had the burrito supreme for the lunch special and devoured it. In general he highly recommends the burritos of any kind anytime. Absolutely loved it. Great and fast service. Not too crowded. Definitely one of the BEST lunch specials in Ypsi - I'll be back again for sure. Delicious! read more

I will definitely be coming back. Only thing I can say I didn't like about this place was the fact that we haven't come here before! Not really a fan. I had the shrimp with chipotle sauce but it was over salted. My daughter had a chorizo dish but it was too rich with cheese and sausage.
