I have been here a couple of times... and while the location and parking are wonderful, they leave a lot to be desired. The service: so slow, not attentive (salsa and waters at zero - no offer to replenish). Friendly, but just not good at basic waiting. The food: very, very Americanized. When I got the huevos con chorizo, it was SOOOO dry and over-cooked. All the other stuff is just boring. The hot salsa burns your mouth, the non-hot is like tomato sauce. An in-between would be lovely. The parking and location: great. The ambiance: music is at the right level not to blast you (blends into the background - yay), and the smell as you enter is bleach + food smell... so at least they clean thoroughly (cool.) The drinks: eh. First, when I asked for a skinny-spicy margarita, the waitress told me I could have one or the other. I said, how about you just make a skinny and put jalapeño in there. Yes. But the skinny was still way too sweet and not particularly tasty. I also asked for salt, and it came with none (it's a top priority - boo.) Then I got the $4 happy hour lime marg... it didn't seem like there was any tequila, and it was SO sweet and almost tasted like the kool-aid when I was a kid. Ick. Finally... told us they don't offer bottles of wine - even though it's right there in black-and-white on the menu. I was looking at having some Mexican food and this was the nearest location. I went in and was quickly seated. There was a Mexican performer singing which was great. We were quickly waited on. I of course had to have a Margarita. I was in the mood for big. The big is HUGE. Its almost like for 2. However, it is not very strong which is a good thing. I also ordered the Fish taco. It may even be worse than I remembered. Service was ok and that is about all the good I can say. The food had zero flavor, from the salsa that was thin and tasteless to the ground beef in my tacos that had no seasoning, even to my kid's quesadilla. The prices were pretty outrageous, especially for the quality. 3 tacos were $8.99 and only came with shredded lettuce. Tomatoes and cheese would be extra. Had reservations for 12 at 7:00 pm on a Friday evening, The restaurant was nearly empty. There was only one server working. He brought our food in a timely manner, although one entree was minus the beans and rice that was supposed to come with it. When finished, two of our party wanted dessert. That took forever and the ice cream part of the dessert was nearly all melted. There was no explanation nor apology for it. One other ordered coffee but never received it. We were never given more chips and salsa nor asked if we wanted more after ours were gone. I've been to this place several times and never experienced any issues until now. I don't know if there is a new chef or what-but our food was not matching the ingredients listed on the menu, and the server didn't even know what was listed on the menu. We were really excited to try this place but it was truly disappointing. We got seated with only one menu and when we later asked why, the waitress explained that they have to hand clean every menu so they limit the number. She showed us that there used to be a barcode on our table so if we had the bar code we could have pulled it up on our phone. Probably should have told us that at the beginning and given us a new barcode to use. Start with the chips and salsa. I asked if they had a hotter sauce and the waitress said the sauce was so hot she recommended that we mix it with the mild. Not only was it NOT hot, she brought it in a little plastic carry out container and it had a bad taste to it so I was afraid it might have been old or been spoiled so she took it away and brought a bottle of store bought hot sauce. I think that's pretty bad when store bought hot sauce is better than what they can make for you at a Mexican restaurant. I like really hot spicy food so I ordered the Camerones a la Diabla which I've had at other restaurants and it's supposed to be killer hot shrimp in a red sauce. It was as mild as spaghetti sauce. I was so disappointed. My friend ordered the burrito special and first they put down the wrong dinner, then the young man went back and brought out a beef burrito instead of chicken burrito. Tacos Al Carbón: Great thing adding flour tortillas however if you have a big tortilla it doesn't look good that is not full, remember that say of Mexico: If a taco closes is not a taco! Now, your Molcajete Maya Is the best, it's pretty well served and the red sauce was taaaaasty! My server was really super nice, but a bit on the shy side, so I had to bug him for a refill on my Sprite. I got free chips and salsa, but nothing to really right home about. The salsa was really super cold, but I ate what I could. My food came out and it was a lot! The tacos were actually pretty good, and I enjoyed the rice and beans. I also liked that the bartender was spanish speaking, and half the guys at the bar were as well. It was nice to hear something different for once, and it really made the place fun. My grandson had a track meet at Eastern Michigan University at 11a on a Sunday. It literally took all day & didn't end until around 8:30p. Our family was starving having very little to eat for lunch & nothing at dinner time & decided to eat at the first restaurant we could find open that late on a school night before driving back home to Northville (my husband & I back to Auburn Hills). Los Amigos Fiesta was it. Although we ordered over $145 worth of food (including three orders of nachos) to take out, the server who took our order at 9:10p didn't give us everything we ordered so we only received $130 worth of food & we didn't realize this until we got to my daughter's home. Of all the meals the server forgot...my grandson's nachos! He ended up having to share the nachos his little sister ordered. This was our first visit to Los Amigos after my wife and I had played a round of golf at the Polo Fields' Washtenaw course just a mile away. We arrived at the odd hour of 3:00 pm on a weekday and were not surprised that there was only one other table occupied. Our server promptly showed us to a table and she opened the menus to the lunch offerings while taking our drink orders. Returning to our table with our drinks a few minutes later, our server told us that because it was after three o'clock, we could no longer order off the lunch menu and the cost of our meals just went up by about 3 bucks each. After having personally presented us with lunch menus just 5 minutes earlier, I felt it was bad taste and poor judgement to come back to us with the price hike news. Very disappointing Los Amigos...not a great way to win over new customers or Yelp elites. For some reason, after this disappointing incident, the enchiladas just didn't taste the same.
