This food was delicious! I was very impressed, considering it's in a very small town. Our group of 7 has a variety of food and everyone really liked what they ordered. The guacamole was super fresh, but lacked salt and heat, but that's a personal preference. That's the only criticism I have. Our server was a younger woman with a beautiful smile who was very cheerful, helpful, and warm. The restaurant is decorated nicely and felt clean. When I first started coming to this place it was amazing but it seems like these last couple times I've been here it's not been up to par. I'm not sure what's going on. Food has just been okay not top of the line like it used to be. Salsa has changed. Used to be great and now it's too spicy and there is not an alternative, you get what you get. The food is just okay. Not a great taste like before. One thing is for sure...the Margarita's are great so that's a plus. Maybe I need to just step back for a while and find another Mexican restaurant. Definitely won't be Azul's in St Joe and the one in Benton Harbor is just okay. Great food, good morning great service I highly recommend! I've only ordered the carne asada burrito, torta and Mexican tacos. I can only imagine how good the rest of the menu! The staff is very helpful and courteous, and the place was clean. It was 3pm in the afternoon in a Monday and the place was starting to get busy! I know there are a few Mexican restaurants around here, but this place is a go to! Next time I'm back in town I will definitely be back for some drinks and to try the rest of the menu! read more

This is a great small town restaurant. They have a large selection of Mexican food and also some choices for kids and other diners who don't care for Mexican. The food and service are very good. There is also a bar. I really like the bright colors and artwork on the tables. If you like Mexican food, I recommend you give them a try. read more

3/16- as always, chips and salsa were delicious, Horchata was much better this time but don't think it's authentic horchata but still good. Jamaica was good. First time ordering the Bistec Colorado and it was packed with flavor and sauce. Prices are still reasonable. Food served quickly and good service as always. Restrooms are still clean. Another visit on 9/9/22 Carne asada dish, chicken enchiladas, and tacos de asada (steak) were all flavorful, seasoned perfectly, rice cooked as it should be (not mushy, watery and bland) and beans were bursting with flavor. The guacamole needed salt and lime again, this must be how they serve it. Horchata was ok, the flavor was a little off but not terrible. Still give this place 5 stars. Still has clean restrooms. Visited again on 8/12/22 Clean restrooms, good service, chips were thick,crispy and hot. The salsa was full of flavor, perfect balance of tomato, cilantro, onions and seasoned with enough salt but not too much. We ordered the flautas platter and the carne asada platter. The chicken in the flauta was bursting with flavor and moist. The flautas were fried perfectly, not too crispy not too soft. The carne asada had a "teriyaki like" flavor which I did not care for. The meat was tender. The rice was good, not clumpy or mushy. The beans were flavorful as well. The guacamole that came with the carne asada did not have any salt or lime. The horchata was good nothing extra special about it. Overall, the food was delicious, waiter was friendly and not overbearing when checking in on us. Prices were reasonable though the tampiquena is now $25 if you like that cut of meat. Plates were chipped but that's a minor issue. This is my third time here and the food was amazing. What a great find! Font let the store front fool you. Head inside to brightly lit clean and festively Mexican. Fast service and great food! We started with a round of frozen margaritas two lime and two mango. They are smooth and strong! The mango margarita is sweet and the lime has a wonderful tequila kick. Round two included the raspberry margarita in the picture.,smooth and delicious but not as sweet as the mango. Chips and salsa started the dinner- chips were hot and salsa was flavorful. Dinners for our party included burrito supreme diner. Tender steak wrapped in a flour tortilla smothered with a green sauce and avocado slices served with beans and rice. Another hit was the steak fajitas. Offered with corn or flour tortillas and served on a sizzling hot skillet. The last was the chicken enchiladas served with rice, beans and salad. The outside might not look like much, but the inside is wonderfully decorated in Mexican decor as one would expect. Plenty of seating, murals on the tables and sides & back of booths-so colorful! Sorry l didn't get a pic of that. It was a bit warm in Waiter was really nice. Food was really good. My abuelita would totally approve! Refried beans and rice was just how l remember she and my mom making. Chicken was good quality. Hubby has quesadilla with chicken, but instead of chorizo, he got ground beef that had a good flavor. They give you chips & salsa. Small basket of chips, which l am actually ok with as it did not spoil my dinner! Not salty at all, but we just used the salt on the table. The salsa was so good, could really taste the cilantro. We also ordered the Choriqueso-queso with chorizo, super delish! The guac was not very good. It looked good, but also needed salt & cilantro. If you're someone who wants a delish margarita, with pops of flavor, tequila..this place will make your list of the top Mexican restaurants in SWMI! We are locals, just tried them out on a Friday night, and everything was amazing! I had a chicken taco and a steak taco along with cheese dip! It was so good! I loved that the tacos were not greasy! Sometimes when you leave Mexican restaurants in the area, your tummy doesn't feel the best...that is NOT the case here folks! My fiancé had 3 steak tacos, and he loved them! You can really tell that their ingredients are legit, and the flavor is wonderful. Now, for their margs. We tried their specials, the purple one was a hibiscus marg, and idk what the Brown one was called (it's in my pictures on this review) but THEY WERE SOOOO GOOD! The purple one was almost like a Tea, sweet but not too sweet! And the brown one was sweeter, and sooo good! The owners son said it was some fruit, it'll be my go to from now on! Moral of the story, if you like Mexican food, good salsa..okay GREAT salsa and you love margs, try this place out. Oh my good gracious. I just had there Taco Tuesday deal. $5 for three absolutely dynamite tacos. Mine were steak with cilantro & onions and my wife such a gringa got ground beef American style with lettuce, tomato, cheese & sour cream. I'm writing the very first Yelp review for this place - which could set the tone for future reviews so I'm going to keep it positive in the hopes that the business will thrive. Downtown Coloma is a bit depressed so anytime a new business wants to take a risk - I'm inclined to give them some enthusiastic support. This was my first visit here, my husbands 2nd (he wasn't very impressed the first time but he ordered fish!). I convinced him to give it another try and suggested he order something a bit more traditional. We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and it was late in the day (around 2pm) which could explain why we were the only people in the place. The chips and salsa on the table were fresh and good. Our server was pleasant and efficient with our order. I had chicken tacos with a side of rice/beans and my hubby had carne asada. Our food was served quickly and was hot and looked appetizing (see the picture). I have to say, the rice and beans were excellent, as were the tacos and carne asada. The only drawback in my opinion is that the meat was seasoned with something that made it look a pale, greenish gray - maybe cumin?? The meat tasted fine it just didn't look very appetizing. I would absolutely try this place again (and probably would order the same thing). We usually go to a Mexican restaurant in Benton Harbor so it's nice to have one in the neighborhood. read more
