The red sauce on the enchiladas were super sweet and the dish was not tasty and the refried beans were soupy. It's not even close to a bowl and then when I called the complain, they told me yeah that's what it looks like. This place is close to work so I stopped by and tried it. I had ordered a couple tacos and a steak burrito. The tacos and and burritos are alright nothing special and it missing flavor. I had tried this place four times or more and I always get sick but I messed up when I ordered one of there fish plate. Not even half way eating I had to stop and run to the washroom. I got sick and started puking. After this I will never return, I have given this place enough try's but I'm done getting sick. read more

El Authentico Burrito is in the same strip mall as one of the gyms I've been going to for the past year, yet I've never checked it out until fairly recently. Needing some post-workout protein one day, I walked next door and ordered me a steak dinner. It was delicious, way too much food even for a glutton like myself, and best of all, cheap. I've been hooked to this place ever since, driving through once or twice a week despite there being at least six Mexican joints closer to home. The tacos are amazing. They pile the meat high. And the corn tortillas are soft and two-ply, not unlike the toilet paper you actually won't need after eating at El Burrito Authentico. And it's almost overkill how F'in awesome the sauces are, especially the red sauce. Kinda has a creamy quality to it, almost like it has a milk base. I wish I could just drink it by the glassful. I really want to try the tortas, but since I've given up wheat, that's been forbidden. But if they are anything as great as El Authentico Burrito's tacos, then I guess a cheat day is definitely in order soon. read more

I love a good drive-through on my lunch break, and this place today was decided upon by majority vote at my office. The location is relatively convenient, on the end of a strip mall with a drive through. You can go in and eat too, looks nice enough. I opted for a large veggie burrito knowing full well that it would be at least 2 or 3 meals for me and was not disappointed. Hands down one of the best veggie burritos I have ever had. It was that good. Rice, lettuce, beans, tomato and guac with some sort of sauce and delicious. The tortilla was perfectly steamed and pressed untill a little crispy creating a perfectly sealed burritorpedo. I have only had the burrito here and as a vegetarian, my other options are a little limited, however, I will try everything I can from this place. Burrito was that good, THAT good. read more

The food is great, I always get the steak tacos! I also loved their 3 milk cake except today. Today I received my order and drove all the way home which is about a 20min drive and after eating my food I reached in bag for my 3 milk cake and it wasn't in the bag. Drove back to get my cake, which no biggie sometimes we make mistakes, but welp they gave me a spoiled 3 milk cake, a few days before today they gave me rice water with no sugar, so that is why I'm typing this review because this week was just bad service and disappointments! Supposed to come with pico, guacamole and sour cream, ordered extra sour cream and paid for it. I ended up getting NO sour cream and they were closed by the time I got home to eat my food. They said they aren't going to do anything for the mistake, they even said they remembered my from the night before because I go there 3-5 times a week. We spent over 40$ on food last night and all 4 meals were not right. So needless to say, they don't deserve the business and I'm not going there anymore. read more

I really wanted to like this place but... the green and red sauces were puréed peepers and water with no flavor at all. I ordered a taco salad which had unseasoned steak, flavorless guacamole the guacamole and sour cream literally had the same flavor. I had to take a $30 order and recook it at home. YUMMO!!! It is hard to find a GOOD authentic Mexican restaurant around here. My opinion! I have passed this place SEVERAL times but I never had a chance to swing in. Well one night after working a crazy long shift I was not about to come home and cook so I took a gamble to drive by and see if they were still open. My 1st choice place was closed. This will now be my 1st choice place. :) I ordered a chicken burrito no beans. :) OMG not only could I not finish it but the chicken was done exactly how I hoped it would be and it was SO juicy! Chips and guac were not too bad. I could not really eat much of it because of the onion overload. I will definitely try them again in the near future. I am just finishing up my lunch from here. I had the combo, which ended up being over $6. You get the choice of two entrees from a list of about 8-10, that comes with rice,beans,and small drink. My two entrees tasted good, but I was not a huge fan of the sauces it came with and the beans. It could be because I prefer chunkier tomato type sauces . Even though I did not like the beans, because they seemed too watery, I barely like beans of any variety. Inside the place was quite nice. I never really notice this place being that busy, but they have a nice spread out floor plan with maybe 8 tables. Also got al-pastor, carnita, and carne asada tacos, which I enjoyed more than the burrito. Tacos were American-sized and were a lot better than the burrito. A friend of mine told me to check this place out, I was super hungry and didn't want fast food so I stopped here. The place was severely understaffed. One cook and one girl taking orders for dine in and drive thru. This was between 5-7pm on a Saturday so basically the dinner rush. The woman at the counter doing basically everything was very nice and I felt bad for her for having to do everything alone. My food did take an extremely long time to come out but I honestly expected that after seeing the staffing situation. I finally got my food which was just a simple quesadilla, rice, tortilla chips. The cheese in the quesadilla wasn't melted at all. It was basically just shredded unmelted cheese in a cooked tortilla. The rice was cold and wasn't great (my family makes better). The chips were okay. Oh yeah and the bathroom had absolutely no toilet paper or paper towels. Talk about being in a tough situation after you realize after the fact. I won't be coming back here when there is much better Mexican food nearby (El Burrito Loco!) To the girl working alone: You're a rock star and I hope you get some front end help soon! read more

I usually don't write bad reviews. I'm a very understanding individual when it comes to certain mistakes as long as it is fixed. I have gotten mini tacos from here before and I've asked for lime and they have never charged me extra. Today I order 5 mini tacos. The lady tells me my total is $5.40. I give her $10.40, she gives me my change and food and when I counted my change, I was cheated. I got back $3.93. I waited for her to come back and I told her I'm shorted some change. She than proceeds to tell me that the lime is an extra $1. I didn't ask for the lime later on, I asked for it with my order. So why tell me my total is $5.40 and and than say the lime was $1. Just say my total was $6.40. I told her okay fine but I still need my total of $4 dollars and she was not trying to give it to me. Overall I am very disappointed and I felt very cheated. I don't care how good the food is, if you have poor customer service I won't be back. read more

Totally disappointed. We are fans of the Bolingbrook location because the food can't be beat. The huaraches and chile rellenos are delicious and our favorite dishes. In Bolingbrook. This location is in a strip mall that is poorly constructed and irritating to get in and out of. We went on Sunday and hubby ordered a huarache, I got the rellenos and my daughter ordered a burger (ugh...kids!). First the server told us they were out of rellenos. Then she came back and said they were out of burgers. She was apologetic and we appreciated that but ended up getting hubby's huarache to go and we ate at McDonald's. Before we left we heard her telling a drive thru customer that they were out of gorditas. After all of that, Hubby said huarache tasted stale. My advice: go to the Bolingbrook location. i wont make this long because we know that long reviews are just a rant. i travel all over chicago every day and i hit ALOT of mexican burrito joints. this was so bad i dont know where to begin. i will explain, the steak was just diced rubbery meat with no flavor whatsoever, the beans were a watery mess, this thing had no taste whatsoever, i mean none. some seasonall would have been better. this thing was so bland that i stopped trying to eat in after about 1/3 and threw it in the bag, 6 hours later i was throwing it away and i openned the bag, it just smelled like brown paper bag, THERE WAS AN OPEN BURRITO IN THERE AND YOU COULDNT EVEN SMELL IT !!! i asked my son to smell it and tell me what was in there and he said nothing, just smells like a bag.
