Okay, honestly a little confused by the rating this place has. After reading some of the reviews it seems they don't have the best service, but little of the reviews were about the actual food. I can't comment on the restaurant experience as we ordered for delivery. The food was incredible. I got the Camarones Al Gusto with garlic. Shrimp was a heavy serving and it was cooked wonderfully. The star was the rice and beans. So rich and indulgent. Well seasoned too. My partner got the Tampiqueña. He said it was very flavorful with a nice sear. The red salsa was my favorite. Came here with some friends for a late lunch. Decent place to grab some Mexican food with a large group. There were 10 in our party and they had enough space to accommodate all of us. We just put some tables together and voila. I ordered the 2 taco steak dinner and it was decent enough. I usually like my steak taco and tortilla a little toasty and these weren't like that but that was okay. Rice and beans were good - can't really go wrong with that. In all honesty I think that this is one of the best Mexican restaurants around. I've order from them on numerous occasions but I felt the need to highlight the tamales. The masa has good seasoning but it lacks fillings. I've lived in the Plainfield area for a while and I pray that the tamales will be better every time I order them but they are always lacking. First of all, we ordered 2 quesadillas with meat, and we received 2 steak tacos with cheese. Burrito had NO flavor! you could taste each of the ingredients, had no blend of flavors. Also kinda greasy or oily or whatever. It was dripping all over the place. The Taco Salad also had no flavor I was surprised at the quesadilla, When I got it home and opened the containe, all it was is a big blob of cheese. Best Mexican restaurant ever in the history of Mexican restaurants that I have ever tried. This is not the sloppy tex-mex that's commonly served at many Mexican restaurants. I am a trucker so I eat out pretty much daily all over the country. I'm also a painfully picky eater and I'm very hard to please when it comes to food. My husband and I ordered using uber eats because we needed delivery to the truck stop. I had 2 pork tacos with onion, cilantro, avocado, green sauce, and lime wedges but you can order from 8 different toppings so be creative I also got the shrimp ceviche tostada. The tacos were terrific. The meat wasn't the disappointing, dry, crusty variety that I often get. It was tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The ceviche was out of this world. This is a huge portion by the way, it takes up a full to go box, and they don't skimp on the ceviche. My husband loved the beef quesadilla. Everything was perfect and we topped it all off with Mexican Coca Cola. I usually hate coming to the Chicago area mainly due to the traffic and lack of truck parking, but now I can't wait to return so I can get me some more of this yummalicious Mexican food. Looking for a great burrito and thought to try this place out. This burrito was just soso. For starters it was cold right from the start. I like my food piping just made hot. It was Al pastor pork but tasted to me more like chorizo. The tortilla was a little chewy and the price was a little higher than on the online menu. I don't think this place deserves all the really harsh reviews I'm seeing here, but it also isn't my first choice either my fiancee ordered the Bistec a la Mexicana which she said was "ok." I ordered the taco dinner (steak) which came with rice and beans. Admittedly we came close to closing time so I already felt bad but the staff was very accomdating and friendly. Both meals came out hot and quicker than I expected. Tacos were good but the salsa is what really made it. My rice was warm but you could tell I got what was left as there was some hard dried rice. Beans were pureed you could tell they came from a can that way. Ok this may now be my local go to place for quick Mexican food. Having just move north from the Mexican Border in Texas I haven't been impressed. The food here is pretty good. The decor is better than you expect based on the exterior (strip mall). We went on a Saturday Night and was surprised to see a DJ playing music. The music selection was more of a distraction since it was all over the place; country now rock then hip hop and R&B. My three star is based on store bought chip and salsa... at least the taste that way, please remove the table number from the walls. They make a nice decor look cheap, and more authentic Food please. I was so hoping it would get better but it just hasn't. On these 2 occasions I was told the I could not order a burrito made with the same meat as the "tacos mi tierra" - arranchera or skirt steak for those that "don't habla"??? Now I let the person & the counter know that I was willing to pay more but they just said NO it can't be done or they were out of that meat! Now this upset because I had ordered it before with no problem but now it's not possible??? This was my first time coming to this restaurant, i was really craving pozole. Walking into this place, it was very colorful and looked very interesting. I was greeted with such a great manner and even got to choose where i wanted to sit. Looking around and it was just so fun to sit down in little cushion round seats. They even have a mini casino for the adults. The service was very polite and fast and very accurate, simply ordering. i got my food in a reasonable time. The food was well presented and was very very excellent!! I was impressed for being there for the first time. Waiter came and checked on us to make sure everything is good. After finishing my meal, you get to check out on your own and did not have to wait in line to pay the bill.
