We have been devoted "El Aztecans" for almost 20 years. Our tradition includes dinner at El Azteca with our family, almost weekly, after church services. When we visit without the kids (now in their 20s), it is not uncommon that restaurant staff asks about them. Times have changed, but I vividly remember crayons and placemats with activities for the kids to color. One thing that never changed was the hospitality of the staff and the quality of the food served. The restaurant is popular for dine-in, as well as takeout and delivery. When dining at the restaurant, there are three dining areas, one of which is the bar which includes some seats at the counter, tables, and a few high top tables. There are at least three televisions broadcasting sporting events. I highly recommend the Chile con Queso appetizer, Mole Enchiladas, Enchiladas Verdes, and Tacos al Pastor. Forgive the lack of photos, we dug in before I thought to take any. Hope to see you there!

Local spot that is going to be celebrating its 30th anniversary this October! If a restaurant has been around for that long, they're something special about it. And I was right Food: As soon as I sat down warm chips and salsa were on the table before I could take my jacket off. I ordered the seafood ceviche which comes with shrimp, fish, scallops, peppers, squid, onions, cilantro and chunks of avocado. What a first impression, it's fresh and there's enough to satisfy two people. The seasoning for all of my food was spot on. Not too spicy but not bland. I ordered the shrimp fajitas which has a little kick to it. For the first time, I'm not reaching for hot sauce. Right now there's a watermelon margarita special and I also tried the passion fruit margarita. If you are here with a friend just order the pitcher because one margarita is never enough! Service: Friendly service. Our waiter checked on us often and cleared plates and glasses when necessary. Ambiance: It is a little dark inside. There's a bar area and two areas for regular seating. The four top seating by the bar is my favorite place to sit! The seats are comfortable and they have three televisions with sports on. Overall: This is a wonderful spot to celebrate your taco Tuesday!

A pretty good community restaurant, being in this area over 30 years. Quite decent food and people here.

Not sure when this restaurant opened, but WOW! Super excited to have a tasty Mexican restaurant nearby! We arrived around 8pm on Friday evening to no wait. We opted to sit at the bar, as that was a bit more spacious than what it looked to be at the tables. It is a cut little restaurant with more tables than you'd expect from looking at it from the outside (not a bad thing!). We were welcomed by the bartender. She was incredibly pleasant and quickly got us our order, margarita and waters. We asked her opinion for recommendations, she said anything under Gilberto's Specials was a good choice, so we focused there. The first basket of chips and salsa is on the house, follow on rounds are $3/ea ($2 for chips + $1 for salsa). Two of us opted to share the El Plato Placero with Steak. Neither of us were prepared for the size of the meal - this could very easily be shared between 3 people. We found it amusing that they only give you two tortillas for all this food. You'd have to pile 6" of food on tortilla and probably still have food leftover. The margs were strong and go down very easily - super yummy. We will definitely be back in the future. This place is located in a strip mall with a parking lot out front. The lot isn't huge and I could see it filling up during a busy time, we had zero issues parking right out front of the restaurant.

El Azteca has been a go-to staple for my family for more than 20 years and it never ceases to please. With a pleasant atmosphere accented by authentic decor and serving staff that are attentive, El Azteca sets the stage for can't go wrong south-of-the-border dining. The atmospheric set up, is matched by consistently well prepared cuisine. Rarely have I ever been served any food that is less than delicious. Most recently, my party of three enjoyed: crunchy ground beef, corn tacos; a combination of beef tamale and cheese stuffed chile-relleno; and pork carnitas. All meals were served with rice and beans except the carnitas which were accompanied by beans and tortillas. We also ordered a vanilla and a chocolate fried ice cream, flan and an Azteca coffee for dessert. The Chile-relleno consisted of sweet anaheim pepper stuffed with Jack cheese and was not batter fried as has been my typical experience with this dish. The beef tamale was served on a corn husk, and was moist and flavorful with masa that was prepared perfectly. The pork carnitas were tender, juicy and very rich. The desserts were delicious the Azteca coffee was very sweet and was served cold though which was a surprise. Altogether our bill with three meals, desserts, one beer with two sodas and the coffee amounted to about 100.00 which is affordable and a price well worth the consistent quality. As expected El Azteca served quality Mexican food at an affordable price with good service and which is not always common. We will keep coming back!

Wow, so good in every way! I met my friend for lunch yesterday and was impressed by everything. It's in a small strip mall but there was ample, free parking. We were seated immediately and drink orders taken. I worked in food service many years ago, and I am always noticing the finer points, as it were, of giving good service. I was very impressed with the pacing and amount of contact we received. I believe their name was Lily (presented as female but I'm practicing at not making assumptions!). My burrito grande with pork was absolute perfection with the tender chunks of meat melding beautifully with the rice, peppers and cheese. I took half of everything home for later, as it was large and there were the requisite portions of refries and rice, too. I had the El Azteca margarita and the drink was fine. But as I told my friend, having not had a margarita for years, I put too much expectation on it being wonderful and it was just ... good. If I hadn't added the drink, my lunch would have been under $20 with a 20% tip. It ended up at around $30, but as I said I'm getting a second meal out of it so it's all good.

The restaurant has an unassuming outdoor facade but when you enter the decor and atmosphere is really nice. The service is really quick and the staff is very friendly. They check-in frequently and bring out food and drinks quickly. As a vegetarian there were quite a few options. The combo is $14 and is a nice however I wish the rice and beans portion was a bit larger. We ordered the xangos for desert which was delicious. I would definitely come back!

I ordered the Combination Fajitas (chicken and steak) and was immediately hit by a very nice aroma when I opened my box. Everything looked and tasted great! I think it's a pretty fair serving for almost $20 as well - I probably could've shared the one order with another person for lunch The guac was great too My order was ready within 15 min at peak lunch time and the staff that brought my order out for contactless pickup was also very kind. No complaints at all and will definitely come back soon

This was my first visit here. It was packed when we got there on Black Friday around 7. We sat at the bar until a table was available which was around 7:30. Great food. The Queso Fundido was cheesy and had a generous amount of chorizo and mushrooms compared to other places I've had it. The Taquitos were good. I have only had frozen ones from the grocery so it was nice to eat fresh ones. I've never had it with guacamole or sour cream so that was unique. The beef for the fajitas was tender. Our server Annabelle was wonderful and took care of our table of five. She kept the drinks coming. Really great service and food. I look forward to trying other items at our next visit.

I've been here a couple of times now and plan to go back! It's a non fussy smallish Mexican place serving up authentic Mexican food as well as American favorites. Today I ordered the pork burrito with green salsa, which was mild on the spice scale but had a lot of flavor and the pork was very tender. My mezcalita was pretty good too. My husband and I agreed the salsa was really tasty - it had just enough kick to it without being too spicy.

We left our name and number in our party and they called us from the car. Was a quick turn around. First, we had an amazing server, Juan. He really was outstanding and it makes such a difference in the whole course of your meal!! The chips and salsa were served and we ordered a pitcher of Margaritas, well poured - very on point! We had appetizer for the table, Queso Fundido. It's was a plate of cheese and chorizo on top. They give you a nice size helping! Was very warm and tasted so good!! It comes with tortillas, pico and sour cream. I had the Shrimp dinner special. The shrimp was jumbo and in this butter white sauce. Cooked perfectly. Came with rice and a salad. Friends got Combo Fajitas and the steak was so tender and a good portion. Seafood enchiladas were good- wish they were in a white sauce. Overall, a great dinner and service was just superb!

Fun venue for dinner! We were in the area and I remembered this venue for the great memories with our kids growing up. We would go by after a long day at the pool and gym. Yes, this is comfort food! Shoutout to our local community heroes for keeping this spot a treasure still!!! Great staff and friendly clientele! Now that our kids are all grown up and we moved back from Texas, we asked to sit at the bar to check out scene. Clase de Azule Tequila and yummy sangria were on our must have list tonight. The area is offset from the main dining room with perfect scene of a relaxing zone while the families dined on all the yummy cuisine. Our kids always like the chicken fingers and fried ice cream! But tonight we switched our gears on our first grownup dining experience. We had a dish of extra spicy salsa with our chips, a dish of beautifully plated refreshing ceviche, and a melted cheese chorizo dish with cheese pull off the charts! So well balanced and with generous portions! Main courses was grilled fish, rice, and salad ! Hubby and I had a great meal ! The bartender was just the best! He took great care of us! The staff worked like a well oiled machine! The other patrons were happy and friendly and told us whatever we picked for dinner would be a good choice!!

The food has been excellent on several visits, and the staff and regulars are real nice. On this visit (Jan 2026), I was just stopping in for a quick brew before a long evening. I've known some of the staff here, so I knew I'd be comfortable. The bar staff remembered my usual drink, which is always a welcoming feeling. I favor a tangy tequila drink as a great partner to the food, or any slightly-sweet cocktail or beer. They have a wide selection. And they remembered my favorite dish, which I've ordered here only once before! I love birria tacos, and they make a terrific recipe. It's tender slow-cooked shredded beef with rich savory flavors too complex to know all the ingredients. The beef picks up the sweet smokiness of mild peppers, perhaps chipotle, deeply-marinated for hours with herbs that i will guess as cumin, thyme, and others, and caramelized diced onion. It's loaded with some queso into a folded soft corn tortiila, which is soaked in the marinade, then pan or griddle-seared. Or maybe seared and then filled? Either way, it's a deeply-colorful hand-held like a super-flavorful super-juicy quesadilla. This birria-dilla is served with a dark reddish consommé of all the flavors of the beef and the marinade, for dipping and dousing and generally risking your clothing to splashes, spills, and wild abandon. Compadres also served me freshly fried thin very-lightly-spiced tortilla chips with a zingy fresh chunky red salsa, and i realized that, without thinking, i was dipping the chips in that luscious consommé more than the salsa! I enjoy the food and the relaxed ambiance of this little place. They recently added a lovely terrifically-detailed mural by a local artist of a pueblo magico, a village of delicious food and good compadres. You know those friends who you always seem to visit at meal-time for a taste of whatever is simmering? These Compadres are those compadres.

I want the two hours back. What I cannot get back is the faith I once had in this place, and that is the part that stings. Let me be fair, because I was raised right. When Soluna first opened, I went three times in quick succession. There were the expected growing pains, missing menu items, management finding its footing. Fine. They got the pass new restaurants deserve. What kept me coming back was the ceviche, a dish so good that Hemingway would have written the novel about it rather than the old man and the sea. I am not being hyperbolic. That ceviche was a reason to exist. So when I settled onto my bar stool tonight, two years removed from my last visit, I ordered with confidence. A spicy margarita and the ceviche. The room was still lively and packed and beautiful in that obligatory yuppie Latin watering hole way that Soluna has always done well. The menu still shows ambition, and when a place puts duck confit on the menu, it is telling you it knows how to cook. I believed them. I was wrong. The chips arrived first, and I will give credit where it is due: they know how to fry a corn tortilla. Bravo. Genuinely. Hang that on the wall. The Pico de Gallo was calling it average is honestly doing it a favor. Boring. Flat. The kind of thing that exists purely to give your hands something to do while you wait. Meh is too generous a word, but it is the most accurate one I have. The margarita arrived next, courtesy of a bartender who treated delivery as her final act before entering witness protection. What was described on the menu as spicy tasted primarily of cumin-infused tequila with a sugar rim, which is not a spicy margarita, it is a confused one. She set it down and vanished with the completeness of a magic trick, never to return for the remainder of my evening. Then came the ceviche. Presented in a large, oversized wine glass that screamed "we are a serious establishment" while the contents whispered absolutely nothing at all. The fish had been marinated for the right amount of time, I will give them that, and the shrimp had been pre-cooked, which at least spared them from being gummy. But there was no salt. No pepper. No real citrus personality. Just the ghost of some bottled lime juice and a prayer from an atheist, which is to say, the prayer meant nothing, and neither did the ceviche. I spent the next several minutes doing what no diner should ever have to do, which is attempting to rescue a dish they ordered in good faith. I flagged down someone else's bartender and got hot sauce. I tried everything short of crying into it, and none of it mattered. I have eaten ceviche in places that would make Soluna's kitchen staff weep with shame, and I have never, not once in my life, left a ceviche unfinished. Tonight was the first time. I pushed it to the edge of the bar and told whoever walked close enough to hear me that it was tasteless and they could take it away. What happened next is the part that should embarrass this restaurant most. I wanted to give them another chance. I genuinely did. I wanted to order something else, try another drink, see if the kitchen had anything left to offer before I wrote the whole night off. But I could not, because nobody came back. Not once. I sat there for nearly fifteen minutes watching the staff move through a packed room with the focused energy of people who had somewhere very important to be, and that place was apparently anywhere other than in front of me. A full restaurant, a willing customer, and not one person who could be bothered to ask if I needed anything else. The bar stool was occupied. The wallet was open. The answer was silence. So I got up, walked to the hostess stand, told a confused young woman I was done, and left. The manager, apparently no stranger to this particular conversation, comped the meal. It was a generous gesture, and I mean it when I say this: next time, I would rather pay and have something worth eating. This is what Soluna Cocina has become: a beautiful room serving the memory of a restaurant that used to deserve it. Do better. Or don't. At this point I genuinely cannot tell if anyone there cares either way.

I should have discovered this neighborhood gem a long time ago. The items I selected for a takeout…read morelunch with my grandson were delicious -- and kid-approved (he's a picky eater!). I was able to easily order online before leaving a dental appointment, and by the time we arrived at their location, the wait was only a few minutes. They provide an electronic pager so you can wait comfortably in your car until your food is ready, which was especially appreciated with unmelted snow still on the ground. Although this is a food truck, they have their setup very well organized. The smells coming from the ordering window were absolutely mouthwatering. Chicken Tacos - Four freshly made tacos with your choice of meat (we chose shredded chicken), topped with onion, cilantro, radish, lime, and multiple sauces. My grandson dove into his meal so quickly -- after kindly sharing one taco with me -- that I forgot to grab a photo! Birria Pupusas - Three generously sized pupusas stuffed with beef birria, cheese, onion, and cilantro, served with cabbage on the side. We also ordered the Plátanos (fried plantains), served with a dollop of sour cream -- delicious. The portions were very filling; I have more than enough for another meal. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the prices were very reasonable. The best compliment I can give? My grandson has already requested that whenever I come to visit (which is pretty often -- I live just three miles away, LOL), we order takeout from here again. I think we've found a new regular spot -- one I only wish I had tried much sooner!

Good food; generous portions. Less than a 10 minute wait on a Saturday mid-afternoon.read more
