I honestly went in without high expectations but I had a lovely lunch here! The food came out quickly and it was fresh! Got the queso and chips and the salsa and chips. The chips were super crunchy and freshly fried. The fish taco was flavorful and not too great and the suadero taco was heavy on the meat! It's a smaller place but the service was nice!
We came during off peak hours so service was a bit slow as it seemed that there was one person who was the host, bartender and waiter. He was super nice tho. Food was AMAZING. Season and cooked well. The quesadilla was absolutely stuffed and the fajitas were yummy. The handmade tortillas definitely put them over the top. Lastly- my partner got the Cadillac margarita and said it was really good! Atmosphere is casual but cute. Colorful walls and some murals. We're definitely coming back.
Location through me off, I assumed it was by the mall. But nonetheless I've enjoyed this hidden gem . The place was small but not cramped . The service was good and well priced . The nachos were definitely full filling (recommend adding chicken ...yum) and enough for 2 people . The honey old bay wings were perfectly cooked but was more honey than old bay ( still didn't disappoint ) and the chicken and shrimp quesadillas was perfectly made. Definitely would recommend coming by for lunch or a quick dinner (or for takeout) if in the area .
We enjoyed an amazing dinner here! We started with the queso fundido, which was beautifully presented in a hot stone dish. The cheese was delicious, with a great pull and a nicely charred bottom. We also ordered a chicken quesadilla and birria tacos, and were told the tortillas are made fresh to order. Everything tasted amazing. The service was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!
Stopped in to Lime and Salt for a quick lunch. I ordered the steak quesadilla and the sweet plantains. Although the flavors were great in the quesadilla, it was incredibly greasy. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. The vibe is very colorful and vibrant. I could tell on a weekend night it could be very lively and a good time. I would return and try something else.
What a delight to find a friendly and welcoming place near by. The layout is narrow but the seating is well arranged so you did feel cramped. Loved the beautiful furnishings and colorful decor. The food was delicious. We were there on a Tuesday so they had a discount on their tacos. Usually $5/each but today's they were offered at a dollar off. You can tell when ingredients are fresh, portions were good, sauces complimented the individual dishes with wonderful flavors of well blended spices that you can have mild to spicy. Meats were tender and the shrimp that came with my enchiladas were perfectly done. Our server was very polite and patiently answered many questions. They do offer a catering service that I may wish to try some day... I would like to return to try other things from their expansive menu. It looked very family friendly and just a nice and welcoming place to enjoy a delicious meal in a lovely setting.
DO NOT EAT HERE. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and had one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. Our server ignored multiple allergy and food modification requests, even after I clearly explained that I am ALLERGIC to jalapeños and specifically asked for no jalapeños, no pico de gallo, and no onions on my food. Our order still came out wrong with jalapeños, onions mixed into the meat, and other unwanted toppings. Since I'm pregnant, this could've seriously put me and my baby at risk. The food itself was disappointing, incomplete from what the menu described, and honestly not worth the $80+ we spent. The service was even worse. Our server barely checked on us, never offered takeout bags, and when we chose not to leave a tip because of the poor experience, another employee confronted us about it. She then offered to refund the meal because of how bad everything was. Days later, we realized we were still fully charged. After weeks of calling, getting ignored, being told the manager was unavailable or on vacation, and even being cursed at over the phone, nothing has been resolved. Extremely unprofessional staff, terrible customer service, and unsafe handling of food allergies. I would not recommend this place to anyone. IF I CAN PUT 0 STARS I WOULD and as a HISPANIC/LATINO, I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.
2.5 stars We decided to check out a local hot spot this Saturday afternoon! The staff was friendly, and there was decent seating available. One thing to note is that the kitchen ventilation could/should be better. If you're sitting in one of the first few booths, you will notice some intense cooking smells, which will linger on your clothes. I tried a side of plantains, which came in four small pieces for $7--definitely on the pricey side for basic plantains! The rice had a unique lime green color, but it was bland. On the bright side, my friend ordered and loved the tacos, making the visit worthwhile!
Have to come back and update the review...it's a solid 3.8 stars. I think they pulled out all the stops because of Cinco de Mayo. A few friends ordered takeout on different days and it's not living up to what was served in the restaurant. The tortillas tasted bland and the meat had a strange texture. It didn't taste bad, but nothing like it was before. Last time I dined in we had a few alcoholic beverages, and everything tastes better with a little tequila :D Not the worst, not the best, but leaning a little better than mid.
Wow! Talk about tasty tacos!! And the sangria was on point. We went for happy hour and the tacos and sangria were cheap. I have to say the tastiest, authentic tacos I've ever had. First time here with the boyfriend and you got customers for life. Service was superb as well. Love it! Will be coming back for sure.
I have been to lime and salt many times as my go to Mexican food but I admit I have not been in a few months -had a very mediocre /not good experience today. For the good-we got nachos with pulled chicken and it was delicious! One person got birria enchiladas which he said was good. Another in my party got birria tacos which he enjoyed as well! I got an Al pastor taco which weirdly had no flavor at all-the flour tortillas are fresh made in house but were either undercooked or not seasoned as I felt I was just biting flour mash. The pastor tasted like meat and I could not taste any of the tang or sweetness that I was expecting. I also ordered a fish taco which started off strong-was crispy at first but the plain tortilla taste could not quite be saved-also I would have like perhaps some cabbage or something in the taco! The most disappointing was the tuna poke ceviche -the portion was large -with large chunks of tuna but was very fishy and honestly I was afraid to eat it after a few bites -I don't know if it just didn't have enough acid but the fishy after taste lingered even when I got home -to the restaurants credit they issued us a refund since it was the most expensive item in the menu and we barely touched it -I would not give a bad review for 1dish but the tacos also did not meet expectations -service was friendly but not entirely attentive and I couldn't help but feel the restaurant has gone a little downhill-ambiance is fine -I like the open tortilla making station but was pretty empty for a Saturday night
One more time! I like their house chips! We had margaritas and chicken fajita! Actually I like sauces and corn chips more than main course! Service is good and ambience very authentic! Only one think that I dont understand in USA! When we go to restaurant they usually give the worst table first even the restaurant empty! I mean how they do this? In Turkey they always gives the best table especially when the restaurant empty! Anyway! They gave us nicer table when we ask!

Cute Atmosphere, but Know What to Expect. Lime & Salt is a really cute restaurant with a great aesthetic and a unique dining experience. That said, I wouldn't come here expecting the typical Mexican restaurant experience with classic entrées, big margaritas, and casual small talk. The menu seems much more focused on authentic Mexican food and flavors. The food itself was good, and the tacos were definitely the highlight -- delicious and well done. However, I did find the overall experience to be a little on the expensive side, especially with some additional charges that weren't immediately apparent. For example, rice and beans are an additional $4, and chips and salsa are not included. It's also worth knowing that they don't offer some of the more traditional Mexican-American favorites, such as flautas or chimichangas, and there isn't a traditional cheese-based dish like you might find at other Mexican restaurants. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, especially the tacos. I'd recommend checking out the menu ahead of time so you know what to expect -- particularly if you're looking for a more traditional Mexican restaurant experience. read more

I decided to visit Lime and Salt in Columbia one Sunday afternoon for a solo date. My waiter was very attentive and accommodating during my visit. I ordered one shrimp taco and nachos with guacamole as my meal. I mostly enjoyed the nachos between the two. The chips were thicker and very crunchy, and I especially loved the spicy orange sauce drizzled throughout the nachos. I had more than enough to take home as leftovers! read more

Absolutely love their crab guacamole and their Chesapeake quesadilla. Hands down the best seafood quesadilla I have ever had. Their margaritas are unique and delicious as well. Looking forward to trying more of their menu items. Great service and ambiance read more
Good food, delicious queso, quality meats in the tacos. Only one suggestion is that the habanero margarita should be spicier. The interior layout is narrow, bright and simple. Came here back in February in the evening for takeout for the first time and was very impressed! Customer service was excellent and they were very patient as I looked over the menu. I ended up getting 3 tacos for $17. I for the back salmon taco (my favorite), the shrimp and chorizo taco (2nd favorite) & the barbacoa de borrego taco. I thought the price was reasonable and the decor inside is fun and inviting. It feels authentic and the tacos were so good, very flavorful. Parking is super easy since they share a big parking lot with a bunch of other stores. I went during a weekday evening so it wasn't too crowded. Overall, I would highly recommend and I can't wait to go back! read more
Good food, friendly and relatively fast service, a little bit loud and with people feeling like they are on top of each other The queso fundido was good quality, but lacked depth of flavor. Adding something as simple as a squeeze of lime and a pinch of salt would have made all the difference. All three of my tacos--carnitas, al pastor, and cochinita public--were good. The Al pastor was a little dry and the carnitas could have used some salsa or hot sauce, but the cochinita pibil was excellent. All three tacos were generously portioned and had a good amount of meat. My friend's chicken tings tacos also looked quite good and she enjoyed them. We shared maduros and frijoles. I would definitely recommend the beans -- well seasoned, a little heat, and absolutely delicious. The maduros were good too. All in all, quite pleasant and worthy of another visit. read more

Met my girlfriend here for Taco Tuesday recently. The restaurant is small but vibrant in color. We were excited to have a margarita and they have many options. I ordered a pineapple margarita and my friend had a spicy margarita. We started off with guacamole which was pretty pricey at $14 and kind of bland. For our 3 taco choices, my friend ordered all versions of a pork tacos and I ordered a spicy shrimp taco, blackened salmon taco and papa chorizo taco. The food was just okay, out my 3 I enjoyed the shrimp the most. After our meal, we ordered another drink so this time I had a sangria and it came in this cool clay vase. The drinks were great here! I'll come back to try some other items I saw on the menu and drinks of course. Service was great & attentive from our server. read more
My significant other and I were celebrating our anniversary on a Monday night and wanted a quiet place. Our first time at Lime and Salt and were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was at Lime and Salt. We ordered the traditional margaritas, tamales, spicy tuna tacos, chicharron, and carne asada tacos. The margarita was the best that I have had in the area. All of the tacos were fresh, authentic, and delicious. My favorite was the chicharron. I haven't had a good chicharron in Maryland ever! The tamale was a good as I had in New York City! Besides tacos, they also have burritos and fajitas on the menu. Our server was Nate and she was great! She recommended all of the tacos and the tamales. She was accommodating and answered all of our questions. She was very helpful and super sweet. We will definitely come back! read more

I visited Lime and Salt in Columbia on a Thursday evening just a girlfriend and I after work. We were told about a 20 minute wait and since this location is a bit cozy in size we waited outside for a bit. After our wait we entered the restaurant and waiting another 25 minutes to be acknowledged. I watched bartenders look at us directly and not reassure us of our wait time , that someone would be with us soon, or apologize for having kept us waiting. Maybe we should've left, but we stayed and eventually were seated. After being seated I definitely felt rushed to order our drinks. The tone, the body language of the bartender/server was definitely not giving good customer service or even friendly vibes. The drinks were fine, the food was good. But I think our visit was already tainted with the lack of customer service to have really enjoyed ourselves. I'd try again in the future with the hopes of improvement. But honestly the Lime & Salt in Odenton provided a much better dining experience. read more

I had gone a year ago when they first opened and decided to try again tonight! I was glad to see they had alcohol and we made it in time for their happy hour. I really enjoyed their house margarita. The guacamole was great, just not sure it was worth $14. Had to mix it up ourselves. Chips could use a little more salt but we enjoyed that they were homemade. I got 3 tacos: pastor, barbacoa, and chicken rings. The pastor were yummy, no complaints. The barbacoa meat was so hard/tasted old. I enjoyed the pineapple with the chicken taco, but also felt like the meat had been sitting for a bit. Service was quick and the small bar was packed with a loud group and the sound carried through to the rest of the restaurant. Enjoyable enough, but not sure I'll be back. read more
A couple of friends and I decided to try Lime & Salt. Location is a bit confusing via WAZE. It's cute inside - love the colors and booth are really cute. Server was really nice and helpful with answering questions about the menu. Food was okay and prices can be over the top for some items. I'm not a fan of the automatic gratuity of 20% to your bill. We stopped by for an early afternoon weekday lunch. Parking in the large shared lot was plentiful. The staff welcomed us cheerfully to a soundtrack of lively modern Mexican music. The restaurant is bright and new with pretty, traditional decor, with about five 4-person booths, about three for 2-people, one table for as many as eight, and one that could seat 16, or could be four 4's. That's from memory, so it's probably not exact. There's also counter and bar back-less seating for 8 on one side and 8 on the other. With all those seats, it still doesnt feel crowded. The menu offers a wide selection of traditional dishes prepared with modern flair. We started with their fresh house-made salsa-tatemada with fried-corn totopos chips, and it was thick and full of the rich flavors of roasted tomatoes, poblano-peppers, and onions. The totopos were like half-tortillas, large and fun to crunch and break to bite-size. Then we had $5 and $6 street tacos and seafood tacos: the chicharron taco had a huge whole piece of seared pork-belly, the rockfish was breaded and perfectly tender, the sliced portobello mushrooms were rich and juicy, and the camarones a la diabla shrimp were juicy and brightly flavored. All had an assortment of freshly made toppings like jicama slaw or lightly-pickled cabbage and avocado-cilantro crema or chipotle aioli. The flavors were out-of-this-world, authentic tasting and obviously made with fresh ingredients and creative recipes. For this lunch we didnt sample from the full bar, but the tequila, mezcal, and creative cocktail lists will bring us back one of these evenings. Our hunger was satisfied perfectly with two tacos each. We wanted to keep the experience going so we took home lightly-textured but dense gently-spiced husk-wrapped tamales, which were a happy treat for dinner that evening, along with simple but gratifying fried beans, cilantro rice, and red and green sauces for extra heat. This was a delightful lunch, far exceeding several closer-to-home Mexican restaurants, due to the bright fresh flavors. We loved the colorful decor, the tiles and art, and especially the great calavera-skull painting at the back wall. Lime & Salt is located in a modest location with friendly service and is a great spot for a delicious meal. Lime & Salt is relatively new to the area (located in the same business park as Pub Dog) and is doing a lot of things really well. They offer a lot of Happy Hour specials (HAPPY HOUR MONDAY - FRIDAY, 11 AM TO 6PM! $1 OFF TACOS DE LA CALLE, $2 OFF OUR TRADITIONAL MARGARITA) and do a specific one for Taco Tuesdays that I would recommend checking out. Their menu features a selection of more traditional Mexican tacos, but also offers some more modern takes. Their menu also extends to other dishes like ceviche, Guadalajara classics, and sopes. My (entitled) opinion is that I would love to get complimentary chips/salsa, but you have to order the appetizer in order to get them (not a dealbreaker). Food - I usually order the tacos and have never been disappointed. You can order a la carte without having to worry about getting 2-3 of the same tacos like other taco joints. Heads up - this is one of those spots when they say spicy, there's actually a kick to it, so a fair warning for those who want to avoid heat. Everything is always cooked very well with no shortage of toppings - albeit it might be considered sacrilege for the taco purists who only like onions/cilantro, but for me it's great. Drinks - The drink menu offers a selection of draft/bottles/cans for beer and a cocktail menu with a lot of variations of margaritas. I would say it lands somewhere slightly above average. The drinks feel a little bit on the sweeter side, but they are pretty well-balanced and have nice flavor. A great addition to a Taco Tuesday meal for sure. All in all, Lime & Salt is a great spot, but I would recommend avoiding peak hours because it's a smaller location that ends up filling up quick. Their tacos do tend to have sauce, so I don't know how well it would do in a carry-out setting, so I would recommend dining in if possible. Came on a Wednesday around 4pm for a work happy hour with 4 people. The restaurant is a bit small but there were plenty of open tables when we arrived. The menu is a bit small, clearly focusing on the tacos. We ordered some chips and guac and some beverages. The horny marg/blackberry was amazingly delicious. I ordered 4 tacos but that was way too much, ended up taking one home. Overall they were ok with some meats a bit dry and generally a similar taste no matter the meat. The downside to getting multiple tacos is that they don't tell you what tacos are which. So I wasn't sure what I was eating. Would be nice if they would label the tacos. There is a large parking lot, no issues finding a spot. read more
I have been here before for some drinks and tacos and decided to come back for Cinco de Mayo. The prices are competitive and more selection on the menu. The place is small and more intimate. The friendly staff was able to seat me right away despite that they were starting to get busy. I was offered chips and salsa. At most TexMex/Mexican restaurants these are complimentary, I was charged for them. The salsa dip was good and the chips looked to be made fresh but were not warm. The Seared Tuna Tostada was on point, highly recommended The traditional margarita was decent but served in plastic cups? Maybe because of the holiday. The "Mexicana" margarita was real good. Tip: Per the menu, there is a Taco Happy Hour, Monday - Friday, 1 AM to 6 PM - $0.50 off/ Taco Tuesday all day - $1.00 off. Lime & Salt has some pretty good tacos. The restaurant is tiny yet mighty. We tried coming to this restaurant on a Friday evening for dinner however it was packed and we didn't feel like waiting. Now that I've tried the food, I'd probably wait for some delicious tacos. ORDER * Queso Fundide * This melted queso is amazing. It's a blend of mexican cheese served corn tortillas. We opted to add chorizo which was a good move because it jazzed up the queso significantly. The corn tortillas were good wrapped around the queso. I bet this queso will pair perfectly with chips as well. It would be a game changer if they offer an option of chips or tortillas. I almost caught myself getting full off of this alone. I'm confident it was the tortillas full of queso so beware not to get full off this if you ordered more food. One could totally have this as their meal and get full off of it. * Cochinita Pibil Tacos * This taco was full of braised pork and pickled red onion. * Pastor Tacos * This taco had pork, dressed with pineapple, onion, and cilantro. ** The tacos were delicious. The meats were tender, juicy and full of flavor. The grilled pineapple, onions and cilantro accompanied the tacos nicely. If I could add one thing; it would be lime. We live drizzling lime on our tacos and these tacos didn't come with them. We didn't ask so we're unsure if they offer it. Be sure to check if you're like us and like lime with your tacos. * Sopes Bistec * This sopes was good and would have been even better if it came with a bigger tortilla. The tortilla at the bottom was almost not noticeable. The steak. onion, cilantro, sour cream and lettuce drowned the tortilla out; it felt as if I was eating a mini salad. Nonetheless, it was good and the steak was tender and flavorful. Overall, I enjoyed everything I had. I was surprised they didn't offer complimentary chips and salsa and limes didn't come with the tacos. I suppose I'm used to that with other places I've been to. I'll definitely be back, though to try the chips and salsa. I'll just be sure to ask if they have lime. read more
