Rarely ever give reviews on food at restaurants but this was absolutely bad! Nothing at all tasted authentic, the salsa and chips came from a jar! The beans came from a can! I ordered theee most simplest thing on the menu Flautas! Speedway tornados taste better! Guac and cream tasted rancid. Food was extremely dry and old! Surprised this place is still in Buisness! Never visiting again except for the beer because the margaritas tasted like straight juice! Not authentic at all! Would least recommend Lindo Mexico over this! Especially for the price. We were excited to see a new Mexican place open in Ada! They have moved into the old Ada Pour House location and are open for takeout during COVID. We walked in and were greeted right away and offered a physical menu or QR code to use a digital menu on our phone. The menu is large and you can find Americanized options are very authentic options. I opted to create my own 3 tacos as authentic as I could. I ordered 1 steak, 1 chicken, and 1 chorizo. You then get to choose 2 toppings, so I added onion and cilantro. You then pick your shell type, which included hard or soft and flour or corn. They also give you limes on the side. The tacos were delicious and the portions were generous. I was definitely full after my 3 tacos and the complimentary chips and salsa. The spicy salsa was definitely spicy and it was full of flavor. We also loved the mild salsa. My wife had the Burrito Norteno is she enjoyed it. It was rather cold, which we figured was because it was takeout and we had to get home first but my tacos were still steaming hot. So maybe the tacos being wrapped in foil worked much better than the container holding the burrito. Overall, we will definitely come back and get our Mexican fix! read more

I don't need spicy but I do like a little flavor My friend ordered a quesadilla and it was not even crisp. She agreed that hers too lacked flavor. We've been to Lalo's a couple of times recently for take out. Each time there was a decent crowd in the restaurant. Nice feel for a small place. One thing we have experienced when ordering is how difficult it was. Not easy. Issues with each order. Mistakes made. Communication problems. Those difficulties could be overlooked with exceptional meals, but that didn't materialize on either visit. Average fare each time. Beef burritos the first time and fish tacos for the 2nd visit. Lalos of Ada is a small Mexican grill and bar in Ada. The outdoor patio was nice and shaded on a hot summers night. My husband was so excited to try this place and I have heard great things about it from family friends! However, I was extremely disappointed. The drinks, food and service was all a disappointment. First off I had to ask three times for water, and I noticed our server went to another table 4 times before coming to us... AND got them water before getting mine after asking twice. Finally on the third time I got my water. The Paloma I ordered had a funky taste to it and the meat in my fajita quesadilla was tough and the runny cheese inside made it soggy (I even got the cheese that was supposed to be on top on the side). We came here on a Thursday night at 5:30, and had our food about ten minutes within walking through the front door. The salsa isn't spicy, but the flavor was great. So--who reviews two days in a row? My family liked Lalos so much they wanted to try more of the menu the next night. What the heck--it's good to support a small local business. The first order was not a fluke. Their food is delicious. We are all in love with their bean/cheese dip and horchatas. The chips are fresh and good (but I would not mind a bit more salt on them). I had the carnitas which were lovely big chunks of pork. Tender and delicious. Rest of the family is hooked on their burritos--have tried bean burrito with addition of chicken, green burrito, and the spicy beef. All were winners. We won't be visiting in person until post-pandemic, but their tequila menu is impressive. Give them a try :) read more

We love trying new mexican restaurants and was bummed this one didn't live up to our expectations. We had high hopes when we saw the place was packed at 7pm on a Saturday night. We received quick service with chips and salsa and our drink order but that's where the service went downhill. We received our double order of fajitas and were served hot and fresh. Unfortunately they lacked salt and a squeeze of lime. They were so tasteless, they were hard to eat. We never saw our server for the next 40 minutes to ask for seasoning or drink refills. We finally tracked him down for the bill and we're more than ready to leave. read more

We had this place delivered while my husband and I visited my brother and his wife.  My brother has been here before but my husband and I had not so we were excited for our food.  Everyone very much enjoyed their food, although we were extremely distracted by catching up and I was distracted by their new baby so I didn't get pictures.  When I'm in town next I can see myself coming back to try more items since I went with a safe bet, a chicken quesadilla, instead of something more adventurous like I tend to do after the first few visits.  Thanks for a great lunch and see you next time. read more

So one of the great things about travelling and then googling places is that if you're willing, you go off the beaten path and get to experience surprises. Sure, you might end up in a neighborhood where you lock your car doors, but more often you get to places like this. I'm sure this is a local's joint, and it was busy when we arrived after the last place we checked was busy (and had no alcohol). We ended up going back up the highway and then off on a road that was almost 'in the country'...meaning no housing and not much industry...until we came around the bend, bunch of businesses and this really cool small mall where this place is. we got spots at the bar, and i can only say they're busy and maybe not enough staff, so be patient. I had a Pacifico, which our waitress served as a bottle - when it was on tap - but probably just a misunderstanding as I didn't specify. That was okay, gave me an excuse to suck it down and get a margarita. I drank mine and my girlfriends (one frozen, one on the rocks), both were delicious. It took a while for the food to arrive but the chips and salsa were good and kept us munching. I won't answer for my girlfriend's food cause she got the combo and why when you can have something like chimichangas like I did? It was the lunch special so just two, but the chicken was good and all the ingredients fresh and flavorful. Not overly fried and I wolfed both. The ambiance and decor where nice, and once the lunch crowd died down it quieted down a bit. A good find! read more

So me and my wife decided to go and check this place out for the first time at there grandville location this weekend because my wife wanted fajita tacos they offer there which is also know as ARRACHERA to the Spanish people so we go and we order I ordered regular asada tacos and my wife ordered there arrachera tacos when they brought it out hers did not look anything like the picture on there menu both of our orders looked like asada tacos with no difference in taste or looks in the meat when I mention something to them about my wife's tacos they told me the meat wasn't the same as mine but I clearly know there was a different as I am Mexican and I know my difference in meats we decide to just eat knowing we would never go back again for the simple reason it could have just bent handled a different way by saying I'm sorry we don't have that type of meat right now and we would just have ordered something else we can't support a business that rather make money then take care of there customers the right way all I can say is don't waste your money on there so called arrachera tacos because there not arrachera tacos. read more

Prices are getting a little ridiculous here. Had tequila and club soda. They charge for the club soda. Its a splash of soda and they charge for it. Convenience fee for using a card. We love having an amazing Mexican option so close to us! The servers are friendly and prompt, they have outdoor seating and a kid's menu. My son loved his quesadilla and rice! I enjoyed the enchiladas verdes and my mother-in-law raved about the flan for dessert. I opted for the pineapple juice to drink while my husband got a margarita. Excited to have a Mexican place in Ada!! It's authentic (as can be in the Midwest :-)) fresh, and has a great menu! The salsa and guacamole are freshly made and the spice level is right on. We got the 3 tacos, with steak, and a combo with a chili relleno and veggie burrito. We also got the flan as well, which was pretty typical but pretty good- definitely homemade! This is a great addition to the Ada/Forest Hills area. Our family ordered the steak fajitas, steak burrito, bean burrito, and chicken quesadilla. All were good. I have gotten steak tacos before where the meat has been over cooked, but these steak fajitas were delicious. Quesadilla came with a lot of chicken, and my mom would order again. We arrived at 7:45pm on a Friday night and were promptly seated. Chips and salsa came immediately but then... nothing. After 20 minutes, my husband went to the bar and asked for our server. The bar tender said he would find out and sent the hostess over for our drink order. Drinks arrived promptly, but again no server. Another server stopped over to see if we'd been helped, and when told that we had not, he said that he offered to take our order but was told he couldn't, it has to be the assigned guy. After over 35 minutes, no one ever came by and we left, again, with no one trying to speak to us. Our first visit after just discovering them this week. We were excited to find a new, little local spot to hang out. After tonight, we will not be back and will most definitely not recommend this place to others. ***of note- there appeared to be four or five servers hanging around the host stand near the entrance at any given time. Finally made it here to sample for myself what others have raved about. The interior is smallish, but a covered exterior space doubles the seating space. The menu is fairly long, with smaller lunch dishes on the back as well as a cocktail menu. I decided to try the Jalisco, a shrimp/steak/chicken and pepper/onion dish with a very tasty mild white sauce, over rice. The quantity was immense, so my leftovers provided 2 more meals. This is my first review ever, I would never give a bad review of the entire restaurant but take this into consideration. When we sat at the bar it was not very busy and weirdly quiet. We were going to eat but decided to have a drink and check it out first. There wasn't a bartender but the servers were making drinks. We ordered a wine and a Cadillac Margarita. They didn't know what it was, fine. The Margarita glass was large, we watched them make it - there was 1 tiny shot measured out with a 1oz shot pour, the rest of the glass was filled with warm sugary preservative laden sours mix. Then a tiny amount of Grand Marnier was poured at the end as we told him how to make it. It was the most disgusting glass of warm juice but we laughed it off and decided not to eat there because of it. When we got the bill he had charged us $19.99 for the glass of super sweet chemical juice with 1/8 of the booze that a real margarita at any other restaurant would have given you. Make your own judgement but if you want a decent Margarita go elsewhere! read more

We came away impressed with the taste of the rice especially and as expected, if the basics are good, the rest follows. Portions were in line with the prices. Very tasty and great service. I found out about this restaurant just under 2 weeks ago and have already been there twice.. Food is fantastic. Once as take out and once dining in. They do a great job with packing up take out. Would do this again and again. Dining in, the wait staff was fantastic. Offered lots of suggestions. All recommendations were well worth the order. For appetizers, we have tried the bean and cheese dip and the chorizo and cheese dip. The bean was great but the chorizo had so much flavor and not too spicy We would order both again. We tried the tacos, the enchiladas and burritos. You get your money's worth. We are looking forward to going back next week. Ordered the Southwestern Chimichanga and asked to substitute jalapeños for green peppers. Was told no because they were "pre made". Asked what does that mean? Server was scared so I moved on. Folks. That means frozen. That means mass freezer bought. That means a $16.99 dish cost them $1.47 in ingredients. Found these exact Chimichangas on the internet with the exact ingredients. They were bland. The tortilla wasn't just fried, it was tough like frozen, minimum ingredients, a basic hot pocket. Very skeptical on this place now. Why would the sheep in Ada ever know? Fantastic food! So excited to have a really amazing Mexican restaurant in the Ada area. Our family had the Nachos Supreme, Texas-style taco salad, the poblano relleno, the hard shell tacos and the quesdilla (the latter two for the kids). Everything felt freshly made with good ingredients - the whole family loved their food. The beans and rice on the side were not throw away items either. And the portion sizes were definitely ample - we had some leftovers at the end. On top of that the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, despite being pretty busy on a Friday night. I'm so happy to have great Mexican cuisine so close to home now!!! We ordered Togo. Their salsa is amazing! We got 2 different burritos. Both were great! And an order of pork tamales that came in a 3 pack with an amazing sauce to put on them. Tamales were excellent tasting but slightly dry. Went in to pay and was greeted by friendly people. Fast checkout. Food came out quickly as well. Food was packaged very well. Got the fajita burrito and it was super tasty but felt like there could be more veggies in it. We also ordered the Mucho Grande burrito. It was huge!!!!! Possibly 12 inches long! Had to cut it into 4ths. Great first time around and for left overs!
