    Yummy garlic bread!

    Very cute venue, with a small open kitchen making all sorts of fresh pasta. There are about 5 or so tables inside, outside street is loud, but that's just the area it's in. Service was sweet and helpful, you can tell they absolutely care about the experience and food. We ordered beer and some drinks, wine (generous pour) and a spritzer, house salad and a sorrentino pasta dish to share. House salad was large, easily share between 2-3 people, the hearts of palm were tasty, lots of dried cranberries, it was pretty good. The complimentary garlic bread was fluffy, crunchy and very yummy! They offered to bring more, and we accepted, really nice and thoughtful! The pasta is similar to raviolis but an Argentinian version, I'm glad we got to try. It was served with ham and cheese inside and a mushroom cream sauce. The pasta itself was good, but the sauce was kind of watery, still tasty though. Only negative is for some reason in this cute space they have a large tv playing loud music videos? This would be the best and cutest date spot if they got rid of the tv, and let the space truly shine, and give it the charm it deserves! All in all we will come back to try some different pasta again!

    Small place but the food was absolutely delicious. Totally recommend this place and make to make a reservation because this is gem!

The concierge at my hotel suggested that, for a quick bite, I walk to a restaurant that he marked on my map. It was only three minutes away. That restaurant was shuttered and closed, despite it being only 8pm on a Saturday. So I went next door and found Chenando's. The prices looked a little steep, but I was hungry and ready just wanted some soup, which was on the appetizer menu. Despite the heat, I love soup and find that soup in Mexico has never let me down. I went in and was seated immediately with a smile. I only brought a little cash with me, because even though this area feels very safe, I was a solo lady with intermediate Spanish, at best, at night, in a new place. This place did not take credit, much like almost every other place in Puerto Vallarta. I asked if they could make the tortilla soup with chicken, since I wanted to get at least a little protein, and the waiter happily obliged. You guys. Holy shit. I come to Mexico at least three times a year, trying out different cities. This might have been the best meal I've had in all of those trips. It was easily the best tortilla soup of my life. The chunks of avocado were so soft and had absorbed the flavor of the soup. They melted like butter in my mouth. THEN there was the bread! I don't even know what it was. Sort of like Hawaiian rolls, but toasted. Freaking awesome. If I wasn't so full from the soup, I would have stuffed all three giant pieces in my face. I could only do one. They asked how it was and I announced that this was the most delicious soup of my life. The two other tables had couples dining who enthusiastically agreed that the food here is next level. One couple from the Netherlands said they come here three times a year. From the Netherlands. To eat here, specifically. Yeah, I could see that. Altogether, my bill was 155 pesos, just under $9 USD. Hell yeah. They even gave me chocolate covered raisins with my bill.

The dish was solid with a nice presentation. They also brought out complimentary olive bread with parmesan grated cheese which was really good. The food and drinks are pricey! For the 4 of us including drinks and dinner, it ended up being almost $70 per person. Service was just okay, our waiter was a little stern and we had to flag to get his attention a few times. I would definitely come here for a special occasion, for the beautiful view and ambience.
