There's a self service thing going on in here. You stand on a possibly long line and order your food then go up to the cash register to pay for it. They have a large selection to choose from including a few popular cuchifritos as well. We ordered fried porkchops and sweet plaintain. My son wanted rellano de papa and a chopped chicharron de credo. We ordered and oaid and sat ourselves down at an empty table. There was no condiments and the napkins were in our takeout bag. The table was clean. The food was fresh and very well seasoned. The potato ball and alcapurria were not greasy nor stale. Tasted very newly fried and was phenomenal. My son loved his chicharron. Service was fast not too friendly but not bad either just very new york style. I'd stop in here again to eat. No frills but good food and good prices. read more

Popped into this place after spending a wonderful day at Orchard Beach because I really was feening for some Chicharron.. and this place came up on yelp B as being close and delicious so we went over as seen in the photo. I had Chicharron with chicken and Chicharron with pork as well as a few other things. The service customer service was excellent excellent and the ambience is what it is. It's not a luxury restaurant, but if you want delicious food at an affordable price, I say back your car up into a parking spot and stop by and have something amazing the food was delicious. First time visiting while in The Bronx! My (local) cousin recommended this place and we were not disappointed. This is a hot counter - so you pick your plate and then find seating on your own. Service was quick and servers were pleasant. It's a local hot spot so look at the menu before going because other visitors tend to get annoyed if you hold up the line while deciding on food. I took a chance and ordered from here for the first time, because my regular go to wasn't delivering at the moment. And let me tell you! THIS place rocks!!! This is DEFINITELY my new favorite! I ordered the chicken family combo, which came with a whole chicken, large container of rice, beans, salad , maduros and soda. The chicken was hot, fresh,well- seasoned and juicy! Rice (yellow) and beans were equally tasty and fresh! I also ordered a pound of roast pork(pernil). Wowwww! Juicy, fall-apart meat, seasoned to perfection! And last but not least, a Cuban Sandwich! Garlicky and toasted bread, gigantic portion of pork! I can't wait to try other items on the menu, but the above are for sure my favorites. on Friday me and my wife was going to shop for some shoes for our son, I came across this restaurant, it's small, but very busy, the food smelled wonderful, so I walked in and got a menu. The very next day we placed an order and got the Bohio combo#6, that included pork chunks, rice, fried green plantain but we swithced for the sweet ones, and beans, salad and 1 1/2 liter soda. We enjoyed every bite, it was so much food that we had to finish it the next day, almost forgot, it only costed $16.00 dollars, they also have other meals, that I will pass a future review on, but for now, all I can say if you live in the Bronx or passing by, check it out. read more

Tried this this place for the first time. I ordered a small beef stew and a half roasted chicken to go for $10+. I must say I was excited to try this place after finding paid parking right in front and seeing so many positive reviews, also the restaurant was full of customers at around 5p on a Wednesday. The restaurant tables were very pretty much full, and there was a short line to order take out. Service was quick, but I think I was supposed to get rice with a small beef stew, but the man behind the counter did not speak English, and I assumed he would include it if it came with the order, which he didn't. In the past when I've ordered beef stew or any kind of stew I was asked what type of rice I wanted to have with it. I got home in about 20 mins looking forward to enjoying my Spanish dinner. Unfortunately that was not the case. The tender beef in the beef stew is a generous portion of tasteless boiled meat floating in a thin watery gravy with bits of over cooked potatoes and carrots. Sadly, beef stew is one of my favorite Spanish dishes and I was very disappointed with this one. Next, the roasted chicken. At first glance, It looked a tad over done, but that wasn't the worst part. It was also bland and not well seasoned. One thing I really enjoy about Spanish rotisserie chicken is the Spanish seasoning! This one did not measure up. I had the mofongo con pernil and it was absolutely amazing. You definitely get your money's worth (2 people can definitely share and still be full) I also had the passion fruit shake and the flavor was great, perfect combination of sweet and tart. The coconut juice was refreshing and very tasty. The Tripe soup was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. Our waitress tended to our every need which was great. Absolutely no complaints. Love this place, great lechon, roasted chicken, beans, amongst other latin favorites. I read some of the reviews about the food not being seasoned. That's absurd, get to a doctor because your probably using way to much salt. Their food is packed with good garlicky latin Sazon! They have good large meals too.They aren't cheap with the beans as they give you an generous amount. Some other latin restaurants give you a disproportionate amount of sauce to beans. What's up with that? They're also very generous with the mojo (delicious garlic sauce that goes on everything and makes your breath smell great) I've been noticing that a lot of latin restaurants do not give you enough, don't give it to you at all or even charge you for each.
