I should probably have known better than to order huevos rancheros at a burrito restaurant. In decades of ordering them at restaurants on several continents, I have never seen eggs so thoroughly fried beyond all recognition. They did remove the charge from the bill, so I appreciate that. This is genuinely the worst Mexican food I've had in a while. The food was cooked well but tasted awful. The queso had the same consistency as toothpaste and honestly tasted like it. There wasn't enough food in my order and the ratio of things in it was incredibly uneven, making my food overall terrible or even un-eatable. I wasn't impressed by anything at this place. From the service to the finish, nothing would bring me back. There were 5 of us dining together. We started by ordering margaritas and the waitress couldn't keep our orders straight. Then she came back to our table to tell us they were out of strawberry margaritas. I ended up with a peach and raspberry mix. It was fairly good but costly for the size. The chips and salsa were some of the most bland I've ever had. We asked for hot salsa and it was too hot to eat. From one extreme to the next. I ordered a cheese enchilada meal that came with rice and beans and didn't get the correct meal. I received cheese enchiladas but they didn't have the correct sauce and I got some guacamole rather than beans. Definitely not a meal worth over $14. I would not return to this restaurant again. Lunch of enchiladas verdes and Rellenos. I really miss when a small green and tomato salad does not come with the plate of mexican food. The verde sauce did not taste homemade. The Chili Relleno and enchilada verde were both served with refried beans and rice. The meal was proceeded by chips and salsa. There was no soap in the bathroom which was discovered after the meal and made me a bit concerned. I had no ill effects, so handwashing of the staff must be happening in the kitchen area. We walked around Saugatuck a bit and finally found this place, which promised a 25 minute wait (and delivered in 15, which was nice). We ordered a pitcher of peach margarita for the table, which was tasty, and they have complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered the make your own tacos, with corn tortillas, and got one chicken, one steak, and one Al Pastor. The chicken was a little dry, but the steak was good and the Al Pastor was extremely tasty. Overall, a good place to go to if you're craving Mexican food. The water even split our bill for us (there were 5 of us) and split the margarita pitcher on each of our bills, which was over and beyond. read more

Overall pretty good, but definitely have had better Mexican food and margaritas elsewhere. Nothing bad happening here, just nothing good either. Very forgettable. I really liked my fish tacos a lot but others in my party either didnt get the correct items or didn't like their food and our group loves Mexican. The sides that came with them was ok but sour cream and cheese would be have been great A friend enjoyed her chorizo tacos also. Having most of friends unhappy ruined it a bit for my experience. The mild salsa is too bland and the hot salsa is a bit too hot so that is an area that could be improved. We asked for a slightly more spicy salsa but it wasn't in between it was too hot. I ordered a margarita and they didn't have most flavors available that were listed on the menu. I ended up with a peach and raspberry mix. It was okay a bit on the sweet side. I wouldn't buy it again. For dinner I had a chicken chimichanga. It was okay. The chicken was a bit dry. After walking around we stopped here to get dinner on our first night. We were able to be seated outside with a small wait, and enjoyed our dinner. The chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful. We ordered the pastor taco dinner and chicken enchiladas. Both were plentiful; I even ended up taking a taco home. The pastor had great flavor, a little spicy, but nothing to scare you away. The rice and beans were good as sides as well. The wait staff was quick and attentive. With how busy it was, we never had to wait for anything that we needed. Simply delicious. A must try if your in Saugatuck. A relative newcomer to the downtown scene but they have won rookie of the year. Quesadillas galore and authentic street tacos are their specialties. Menu is big. I had the most delicious salad in the world. The Texas Style Taco Salad: beef, chicken, shrimp, grilled onions, tomatoes on lettuce with pico, guac, and sour cream, bowl or no bowl. I lapped the whole thing up plus a Corona. 20 bucks for dinner includes chips and salsa. So good. Service was great and you'll love the decor. I got a steak burrito with Verde sauce and thought it was delicious. It also was the perfect amount of food, it wasn't as big as my head or anything like that which personally I felt was good so I didn't stuff myself.
