Caldo de Res (Beef soup) $8 - This is a very tasty soup full of goodies - tender beef, cabbage, carrot and a piece of corn on the cob. It's large enough to share with 2-4 people. Single Flauta $2 - Pricey for what you get, not that tasty. Tamale $2.59 - Choice of pork or chicken. I tried the pork one, it was kinda good, but the corn part was very dry and crunchy on half of it. I love El Burrito Loco, but the prices are ridiculously high for Mexican fast food. I only eat veggie options & that is reason #1 I enjoy eating here. The food is really good, but still priced too high. The veggie taco is .60 extra. Why?! All it has is rice beans & avocado. The veggie taco is more expensive than a regular steak taco. & if you want to add papas a la mexicana they charge you even more. Burrito Loco please consider decreasing the price. If its .60 more because of the avocado, that is still not fair. Although the veggie options are very limited in the area, I always find myself paying way less for veggie options everywhere else. Stopped in for lunch with my parents. We got chips and guacamole to start, it was good and the 12 ounce size was a hearty portion. I had a taco salad with beef, it was DELICIOUS!! This place has TERRIBLE customer service. They messed up my food order, I called them and the lady said that the next time I come in, they would replace my order. I go in the following week and they said they can only give me partial credit since I didnt bring back the food back the same day. I told them that I live nowhere near and couldnt come back the same day. The old hispanic guy, that is the manager with his daughter have no sense of customer service. They said to bring back the food that I ordered over a week ago, and that is the only way to get credit. Normally when you're in a strip mall situation that's alright, but when you're quite literally next door to an actual great Mexican restaurant with similar hours, pricing, and everything else I can't think of much reason to hit up El Burrito instead. The difference is, when you go to Taqueria El Brasero next door, you're getting actual waiter service for no discernible premium. I'm a fan of their vegetarian sopes, though the sope dough is hard because it's premade vs. fresh, home made. They have horchata, lemonade, and agua de tamarindo (tamarind). The baby burrito is anything but petite. Their squeeze bottle green sauce is delectable. Their chilaquiles con huevos are AWESOME. They have a mean cheese flan mmmm and also carry a pastel de tres leches and other desserts, including the artificially colored compressed coconut sweets traditional in mexican city parks.
