This space is very spacious, this is probably 1 of the larger Portillo's that I've been to. My go to is a cheeseburger and cheese fries and yup, that's exactly what I ordered. Plus a slice of the birthday cake, which I got for free. If you sign up for their rewards program 1 of them is getting a slice of birthday cake during your birthday month. Get my order right. Ordered on the kiosk. Wanted the beef & sausage combo with sweet peppers . Instead it was bone dry. I ordered the big one for like $13. Cant say O got my moneys worth. Place is mediocre, but they've all gone downhill since Dick sold and it went corporate. Portion sizes went down and prices went up. At least the quality is halfway decent. This Portillo's has a Barnelli's pasta! Not every location has one so it's a treat when you can get some good pasta or a meatball sandwich. While I love to get a hot dog, chopped salad, or italian beef normally, the rigatoni ala vodka and penne all'arrabbiata are my go to's for pasta. The arrabbiata has got a nice, spicy marinara sauce which just speaks comfort food. The vibe is different at each Portillo's location and this is no different. I literally could not WAIT to get back to Illinois to get my Portillo and Barnelli's fix. This was my go to when I lived in Naperville for about a decade. I was visiting the area and made it there not once but twice. My favorite is the chopped chicken salad. Perfectly diced and enough for two meals if you're not starving!! Took my mom out for dinner on Monday...we ordered Italian beef meals. After the first bite I noticed the meat tasted funny...took another bite and I was sure. My mother had her sandwich smothered in hot peppers and salt. She'd finished half of her sandwich before she could taste what she thought was spoiled meat. We spoke with the manager, his name was Nicholas. He apologized...stated he eats the Italian beef several times a week and he's confident it's fresh. Nicholas offered us something to share or a dessert since he felt as though we had eaten too much of the sandwich. He eventually agreed to providing us 2 hotdogs. Neither of us felt this was a fair resolution however, expressed to him that we were not looking for a refund however, fresh good food. I'll likely stay away from this location for some time! A super busy location located on Route 59 in Naperville. They do online ordering,drive thru and dine in. We went on a Sunday for lunch and there was limited indoor seating. You place your order but it was confusing as to where you pick up your food as their salads are picked up on the other side of the restaurant. We tried their NEW Chicken Pecan Salad and Greek Salad. Both salads were made fresh and were big enough to share. I had to also get a hotdog and fries as that is what Portillos is know for. We also tried their NEW Caramel Spice Cake. This location was a little far from our house, but we wanted to try them out. It was a great experience with the manager helping us with our orders and he went above and beyond to help. The salads were delicious and filling as I had the spicy chicken and my wife loved the pecan chicken salad too. Then they gave us spiced cake shakes that were out of this world good, we brought them home and froze them to enjoy later. They also gave us reusable silverware sets for future usage out The decor was very nice with old fashioned style photos and signage throughout the store. Checking out the new Portillo's salad menu and I got the Greek chicken salad with chicken on the side and my hubby got the Spicy chopped chicken salad. Both salad came with a small piece of bread and butter and who doesn't love that. Both salad was super delicious and portions are big for a salad. Very filling for the both of us. The spicy chopped salad have giardinera in it with bits of pasta and breaded chicken with house dressing. Chicken Greek Salad got olives, feta cheese, veggies and lots of onions. Both salad was delish. The salted Caramel spiced cake was good but nothing can compare to the famous Portillo's chocolate cake. If I have a choice, I'd pick the chocolate cake every single time. One last hoorah! I've been traveling to Naperville for work for the last year and have somehow not tried Portillo's. It's been recommended dozens of times but for some reason I never made it. On my last night my colleague and I decided this was the time! We headed to the location closest to our hotel and I was honestly shocked at how large the restaurant was (and they have a drive through). Once inside it's pretty fancy with lots of seating and computerized ordering. Since we didn't quite know what to do we took the order at the counter route, on our way there we noticed a sign that had the most popular items. So we decided "why not"! We ordered the top 5 which included the sausage, hoagie, cheese fries, chopped salad and a slice of chocolate cake to go. Once the smorgasbord of food was all laid out and ready for my camera I could not believe my eyes ... we split everything just about half and half minus the salad because there was too much going on there and I actually do not like blue cheese. But the overall the sausage with peppers was my favorite thing in the world if the line wasn't so long I would have ordered another one for the next day. Portillos gave me family owned vibes, the food came out fast and fresh and surprisingly the menu had many options. We had such a wonderful experience at Portillo's in Naperville, and we want to especially recognize Shannon, the manager. From the moment we arrived, the food was absolutely delicious and the environment was warm, welcoming, and family-friendly. What truly made our visit memorable was how Shannon treated our children. We have four kids, and she went out of her way to make them feel special. They colored artwork on their Portillo's papers, and Shannon proudly posted their drawings, which absolutely made their day. That small gesture meant so much to them and showed how much she cares about families who visit the restaurant. It's only worth it if you're really hungry, don't feel like cooking, and are willing to pay the outrageous price, for poor quality, and shrinking sizes go ahead. Cake is 1/2 the size it was, bread is stale and dried out. I'm not expecting the world, but I use to be a regular, and found the food enjoyable and filling. The croissant on my beef and cheddar croissant was dry and borderline stale. The size of this sandwich has decreased by 20-30%. There was almost no beef on it. My fries were all tiny pieces, not one measured more than two inches and the majority were about an inch and a half long. I love Portillo's and am always super excited when I get to go! We came during an afternoon for lunch and it was pleasantly crowded but not overwhelmingly so. The servers were very helpful as we made an order - I got the chopped Greek salad and my husband got the spicy chicken chopped salad. We also got to try the Salted Caramle Spice cake slice and shake. For the kids -we got the mostacciolifor them to share (they are pretty big), as well as side order of fries and drink. In regards to the food - LOVE the salads. They come with warm bread and are very filling and flavorful. I also LOVEDDDDD the spice cake, it was so good and is big enough for multiple to have a bite (if you wish ha!). This is a Chicago staple... a must have... a city wide treasure... if you come to chicago and don't have an Italian beef or a hotdog from Portillo's you will not be allowed back into the city again!
