Always a happy tummy when picking up from any El Burrito Loco! Although this location is not my personal fave, they still make some of the better Mexican meals out here in the Chicago south suburbs. Their burritos and Chimichangas cannot be beat for the price, they are huge! I went with the Chile Rellano Chimichanga Suizo and it was absolutely delicious! I typically order the Chille Rellano wet style, but this was a nice reprieve from that. Who doesn't love a good amount of fried food? The temperature was perfect and the fillings were very tasty. We also shared a large order of Nachos Locos with avocado. They did not skimp on the avocados, which was awesome! The toppings were so fresh, no brown spots at all on any of the avocados! Made a quick stop to grab a few steak tacos to go. Called my order in and asked for toppings on the side. I still had a little bit of a drive in front of me and didn't want soggy tacos by the time I got home. This was not a problem for them and they were happy to put the toppings on the side (lettuce/cheese and a few chopped tomatoes) The restaurant has a few tables and clean. The steak tacos were very good. They are street tacos so smaller that typical tacos so order an extra one if your hungry! I cant say there was anything about this place that would pull me back in next time I'm in the area. The service at the register was okay - no chit chat here or trying to upsell me. Food is good and portions are ample. However I asked for Mexican corn to be substituted for the rice and beans and was told it was an upcharge of $3. I hesitated bc I didn't see why I should be charged additional for that, but I opted for it anyway. Upon arriving home this was my "Mexican corn" (see pic(s). We just had the worst experience with this establishment... When I a arrived home with the food, my wife opened everything and saw that the two taco dinners had beans and she clearly specified and confirmed when he read back the order that there was to be no beans, then she noticed that the tacos had no cheese and called them to explain. The owner?/manager?/guys at the register? was very rude and when she said it sounds like you're blaming me for the order being wrong, he told her yeah you have one problem after another. Our intention was to exchange the food and we spend $40+ a week there and are usually very happy with their food. It escalated to a return of the food and when I explained to him that we won't be returning because of the way he spoke to my wife, he thought it was ok, because he didn't yell? He then said if that's what we want to do, he can't do anything about it. We're extremely disappointed with how we were treated and have put them on our will not patronize list. read more

This place has terrible food and service sucks. We always order our burritos crispy and they don't do it, it's like they just put the tortilla on grill to warm up and when you bite it it's chewy. And when I called to complain they argued with me. So we stopped going there for a long time and finally decided to try them again yesterday and of course it happened again, no crispy burritos and the tacos were not good. We also ordered two large rice waters which we never got and when my husband went back to get the rice waters they told him he was lying that he never ordered them. I have been going here since they opened...on the past 3 times I found their food much too salty and after last night I will NEVER go back!!! I ordered the 2 piece combo, 2 enchiladas w red sauce, beans and rice. You also get a soda. (It was flat....) guacamole... simple. She handed me the carry put bag and my container immediately turned upside down ! When I did get it home it was a mess, but ok, first bite...over salted and the guacamole was way too salty. Since me and the fiancee moved from Los Angeles, it's been hard to find good Mexican food but I am happy to say we finally found a great place. The steak, like another reviewer noted, has very little fat if any. The Baby burrito was not really baby and had me reasonably full. The fiancee couldn't finished her medium sized burrito and ended up taking the rest home. I was also surprised that the horchata actually tasted like it was homemade. The only downside of the restaurant which kept it from getting the 5th star was the fact that ordering 2 burritos we paid $20!! The reason was, was that guacamole cost extra, sour cream extra, potatoes extra. I mean everything was extra but the (I believe younger daughter of the owner) said nothing about the extra prices. Also, the owner which I believed was the mom of the kids didn't seem to happy go lucky but hey she was probably busy so I won't mark a star down for that. Worst Mexican delivery experience yet. After ordering many times and always having an issue with an item I've reserved to write anything negative until now. The delivery experience was totally fine, door dash app and driver were excellent. Everything has been becoming more and more bland and flavorless with every continued order. Beef nachos are soggy to the point where it's unable to be eaten by hand(I don't live far). Corn in a cup is bland also. Everything else on the menu is decent but seems to be degrading. Delivery got there and everything is in the bag except for what is probably looked for the most in any Mexican food, the hot sauce/salsa. It's not even worth eating without it. I drive back to the restaurant and explain to them that they didn't send any with my order and the lady at the counter proceeded to argue with me about the salsa then wants to charge me for anything extra. I ordered 65$ worth of food and why would I drive to the store to pick it up if I had received it. She gave me 4 little cups of the salsa and I had to explain that I ordered three dinners and a few side items and that would not be enough for the amount of food I ordered. I recently moved to the area and was very disappointed with the customer service here. When I walked in, the young girl working the front counter didn't smile, say hello...nothing. I placed my order and also asked to get change for a ten (so I could leave a cash tip at the table before leaving) She asked an older woman who was in the kitchen if they could make change and the woman said no. Then I sat down and thought she would bring over chips and salsa, but no. When I asked if they had any, she gave me some, but it was never offered. The table contained napkins only - no salt, hot sauces, etc. Although I did think the food was good, this place needs serious work on their customer service. Her service is slow, her demeanor is horrid and if this only happened one time I would never report it. The food is so-so. With at least 5 locations, Burrito loco is the best Mexican joint in the 815, BUT something is afoot with this location. I've been to almost all the locations and this one has the smallest portions and costs more than the others. This place is only a 5 minute drive for me, but I'll actually drive 10 minutes out of my way to new Lenox because it's a better ran restaurant. Luckily for this location, there's really no Mexican competition in Lockport so they'll probably thrive here, but if they want my business they'll need to clean it up read more

I have no idea why I've supported this business on numerous occasions. The unprofessional, condescending attitude of the employees is utterly reprehensible. I've noticed the attitude in the past, but didn't give it much thought. I guess my appetite overshadowed my common sense. I typically prefer to dine in versus take out, especially, Mexican food. When I inquired if dine in was available (Covid), I was originally told no, but when they realized I was going to leave, they said I could sit outside. From that point on, the attitude grew worse. I was treated like I should be lucky they are serving me (keep in mind, they were still open for business for another 1 1/2 hours). The cashier had no interest in my order and I had to continually ask for specifics that come with the order. The food was brought to me in a plastic bag with none of the typical dine in necessities. When I inquired about the missing items, I was again given a attitude. That was the final straw, I brought the food back in and demanded a refund. After providing me the refund, another employee apologized and offered me the meal. I refused the meal and let them know they'd never receive my business in the future. read more

I saw this place while searching for something to eat and go on the way to Citgo Refinery. They have truck parking which is a great thing for me! I walked in and there were a few patrons. Looked clean and tidy! I ordered the giant steak burrito an a side of rice. The burrito was awesome! Steak was tender and tasty! The beans inside were good as well. There was a little too much lettuce for my liking, but too each their own! But all in all the burrito was spot on! The rice was delicious too! I was in and out of there in less than 10 min. The food tastes good, however they really need to put more meat on their burritos. Ordered the giant steak burrito and received a giant lettuce burrito with very very little steak. Even when you pay the additional buck fifty for extra meat, the meat is scarce. As far as customer service, don't expect much.
