Stopped in here late night as it was the only thing open at 1am on a Tuesday night Wednesday morning. I grabbed a carne asada taco and a vegetarian burrito. The carne asada taco had a generous amount of meat but was caught off guard by the lettuce, tomato, cheese and such toppings. I was expecting meat, onion, and cilantro. I got the meat cheese and lettuce. Again ample meat and good flavors. Perfect accompaniment to the burrito. For the burrito I really just wanted bean and cheese but you have to buy the vegetarian and pay a higher price then take off all the toppings. No simple bean and cheese option. The burrito was hot and well seasoned. Honestly very delicious all around and the sauce just adds another layer of perfection. The staff was friendly and fast, I couldn't ask for anything else. Used to think this place was very subpar but the past 2 times I've been, I really enjoyed it. I think the food can be a little oil-y occasionally but it depends. I also got an Al pastor taco but forgot the photo, which was great with their green salsa! Workers are great here and love to crack jokes with you. My favorite burrito in the city. I don't know what they do or how they do it, but I'm glad they do whatever they do to make these burritos. I can say that the tortillas are wrapped tight and grilled to perfection. The ingredients taste fresh. And get this: their beans and rice are delicious. What a great location for a quick game day meal to go or eat in. We wanted something quick to grab and go so we went with a chicken tamale and asada taco. The tamale masa is moist and the chicken is good. Feel like some Mexican food for the game? Stop here and give them a try. Happy to report that the tamale is good! Never had any problems with the daytime staff always welcoming. Tonight. Staff is rude and doesn't provide the same customer service. All I asked for was a plate. They denied me dining service. Nice quick lunch before the cubs game! A group of 7 of us came by for a quick lunch! This place was great! My wife and I shared the 3 tacos dinner with 2 chicken and 1 Al pastor with rice and beans! How the heck does this place have such a high score...The food is beyond mid. I'm being nice by giving 2 stars and that's for all the ingredients being so fresh. Let's go down the list of all the mediocre things I purchased here. 1. Chicken Burrito...dry and flavorless...Taco Bell could make a better Burrito...Half was eaten and the other half into the trash can it goes. 2. Skirt steak dinner for a little over 20 bucks...Meat was greasy and gross with weird texture and this is a dish i adore...Meat was thinner than beef jerky just not as good as beef jerky and once again flavorless except for the taste of grease...The only saving grace was fresh avocado and lettuce and spanish rice wasn't half bad. 3. El pastor tacos...dry and pretty much flavorless pork...I needed a glass a water to get this down my throat...if it wasnt for the taste of cilantro and onion this would be dead on arrival. I will say the look of the taco makes you think it will be amazing until you take a bite...lol Overall I won't be back...Maybe I caught this place on a bad day or something or judging from the crowd if you are coming in from all the many bars around being drunk is probably the best way to enjoy this food. So I'm in Chicago visiting my close friend Rick. You might have heard of him from my other reviews. I'm already on mental overload seeing all the beautiful architecture and eating the amazing food in this city. We were on our way to a Cubs game when Rick recommended this Mexican place right near Wrigley field. I'm extremely biased when it comes to breakfast burritos. I'm from Los angeles. We do breakfast burritos the right way. I always contended that there was no way Chicago could have comparable Mexican breakfast burritos to LA. Rick just said wait till you get here. We arrived at El Burrito Mexicano an hour before the game and ordered two chorizo breakfast burritos. We took them to the stadium and found a great place with an awesome view to enjoy what would turn out to be a quite delectable breakfast treat. As I commenced eating this burrito I was pleasantly surprised. The chorizo was extremely flavorful and mixed well with the cheese, rice, beans, and sour cream. My first impression was that everything indide worked really well and was extremely tasty. When I drizzled both the green verde salsa as well as the more spicy red salsa on each bite, the flavors enhanced and the spice to zest ratio was off the charts. Begrudgingly, I started to concede that the Mexican breakfast burritos in Chicago were indeed as good as the ones in Los Angeles. Shayna, I agree that this place is pretty epic. Ehhhh is all I can say about this place. Honestly, there are way better places in Chicago for Mexican food, but if you are immediately in this area near Wrigley Field, I guess this works? The pros are, location and hours. They are literally right under the Addison L station, so this place is very easy to get to. They are also open really late on the weekends (not sure of their week hours), so if you're leaving a bar/club in Wrigleyville, Boystown, etc you have a place open at 3am that is not McDonald's or Taco Bell lol. That's why we came here. Our experience with the cashier was nice though. It was refreshing to speak to him in Spanish considering the demographic of the area, lol. Would I come back? Well, if it's 3am and I have the drunchies? Sure. But never intentionally would I go here during normal day hours. read more

We came earlier in the morning around 11, there was no one else there but the staff was nice and they got our food out to us super quick! We each tried one taco, the pollo and the carne asada. First he couldn't give the lady in front of me the correct change he then proceeded to give her an attitude for correcting him on the change. He was very aggressive and rude. Even if the food is delicious his attitude is enough to turn anyone around. If you see this man proceed with caution. Also if these are the best tacos in Wrigley... Wrigley needs to do better. I met my friend, her husband & one of her sons there just before the game to grab a bite to eat before the game. We all grabbed a few tacos. I ordered 3 steak tacos, they were very good. The meat was very lean cut into tiny pieces were seasoned very good. They were cooked in such a way that they had a crispiness to the meat that gave it nice texture with each bite.
