How the heck does this place have such a high score...The food is beyond mid. I'm being nice by giving 2 stars and that's for all the ingredients being so fresh. So I'm in Chicago visiting my close friend Rick. You might have heard of him from my other reviews. I'm already on mental overload seeing all the beautiful architecture and eating the amazing food in this city. We were on our way to a Cubs game when Rick recommended this Mexican place right near Wrigley field. I'm extremely biased when it comes to breakfast burritos. I'm from Los angeles. We do breakfast burritos the right way. I always contended that there was no way Chicago could have comparable Mexican breakfast burritos to LA. Rick just said wait till you get here. We arrived at El Burrito Mexicano an hour before the game and ordered two chorizo breakfast burritos. We took them to the stadium and found a great place with an awesome view to enjoy what would turn out to be a quite delectable breakfast treat. As I commenced eating this burrito I was pleasantly surprised. The chorizo was extremely flavorful and mixed well with the cheese, rice, beans, and sour cream. My first impression was that everything indide worked really well and was extremely tasty. When I drizzled both the green verde salsa as well as the more spicy red salsa on each bite, the flavors enhanced and the spice to zest ratio was off the charts. Begrudgingly, I started to concede that the Mexican breakfast burritos in Chicago were indeed as good as the ones in Los Angeles. Shayna, I agree that this place is pretty epic. I just stopped in here with my boyfriend on the way to the CTA because the smell of them cooking was too good to resist. We came earlier in the morning around 11, there was no one else there but the staff was nice and they got our food out to us super quick! We each tried one taco, the pollo and the carne asada. The pros are, location and hours. They are literally right under the Addison L station, so this place is very easy to get to. They are also open really late on the weekends (not sure of their week hours), so if you're leaving a bar/club in Wrigleyville, Boystown, etc you have a place open at 3am that is not McDonald's or Taco Bell lol. First he couldn't give the lady in front of me the correct change he then proceeded to give her an attitude for correcting him on the change. He was very aggressive and rude. Even if the food is delicious his attitude is enough to turn anyone around. If you see this man proceed with caution. Also if these are the best tacos in Wrigley... Wrigley needs to do better. The meat was very lean cut into tiny pieces were seasoned very good. They were cooked in such a way that they had a crispiness to the meat that gave it nice texture with each bite. This is a frighteningly fast food experience. There's literally no reason this food should be this fast. Usually when you order food there's some sort of time that it takes to prepare it. When you come here, well that's not the case. They seem to already know what you're going to order. It's almost as if they already know what you're going to order. The only way I can explain this minority report situation is that they must employ precogs. But that would leave you to believe you were in for another underwhelming Tom Cruise experiment.
