Really, really good. I had the chicken super burrito and my wife had the chili relleno burrito. Both were great and the salsa bar is fantastic. It's right off the freeway, so access is easy. Best micheladas for the road. Good thing i found this place while charging the tesla at the supercharger in the parking lot. They ate friendly and dont discriminate on customers using the bathroom while charging. Upon seeing their menu I tried the quessebiria you get 3 for 15.99, not super cheap but worth it to get good ones in the area on a rest stop snack from a road trip on the 80. They got most of the popular beers for their michelada mix which is perfectly salted with a spicy salt brim. Had the non alcoholic corona for the road. Inside is a quick service clean version of a taco bell but with the service of a local family style cantina. You get unlimited chips and salsa which are a plus I would give thrm 5 stars if they had a green tomato salsa verde. read more

This place is pretty good and convenient because it is close to the Tesla charging station so you can eat while you charge. The carne asada fries were very good but I would like the fries cooked more because they get so soggy on the bottom and they get soggy fast. Stopped here to eat while we charged our car. The food was amazing. I ordered chilaquiles rojos and added 2 eggs! the whole plate tasted amazing and loved their portions. My husband got green enchiladas with roasted chicken and said they were fire. The food runner was very sweet and kind and made sure we were well taken care of! Tesla Charge & Snack - Every time we travel, we try to pick chargers near the freeway that also have food nearby. On this adventure, we stumbled upon El Burrito Taqueria while stopping to charge. I ordered a simple bean, cheese, and rice burrito for... breakfast along with some chips and salsa as an appetizer. The burrito tasted homemade, from the tortilla to the beans, and it had plenty of cheese! My husband got a chorizo burrito (forgot the photo). He said it wasn't anything he'd need to have again, not bad just not amazing. I would definitely stop here again the next time we charge. They have birria (which is my favorite dish!) but as always, my eyes were bigger than my tummy so I ended up ordering 2-taco plates. One taco is birria and the other taco is lengua. Their rice and beans are nice, I wish it could be a bit spicy (beans) but it's still flavorful and cheesy! the tacos were a bit soggy but I still enjoyed it. I ended up refilling it with some pina but it ended up being too sweet as well.. Their chips station was filled with many varieties of salsa and I could never be happier... Solid tacos. It's not a mom and pop, there's little ambiance or margaritas, but it's tasty, cheap and quick. There's even a drive thru, don't let that fool you though it's a million times better than Taco Bell. We tried a couple crispy tacos, all were great but it's not deep fried crispy so I may try the hard shell next time. There's service was very good. Nice little stop after errands. read more

This place has been a go to stop for me for a long time because the convenience of the drive-through is unmatched when you have Littles in the car. I came through tonight however and was really letdown. $20.99 for this small amount of chicken seems crazy to me and super stingy for how much they're asking. Portions are definitely getting smaller while prices are rising. (Picture does not do justice the skimpy size. )They also forgot an item that I had ordered causing me to have to go back and get it which is a huge inconvenience. Lastly, the younger guy handing out the food was rude for no reason. Asked if I wanted chips and salsa and just chucked three of the hottest salsa they have in the bag and thrust it at me. A great place to go is El burrito Taqueria in Auburn. We usually make a pitstop for gas and we're pleasantly surprised with the quality of the vegetarian burrito. It was large and a good value and not filled up with rice like sometimes happen. We also enjoyed the chicken enchilada plate. Had to charge car and wanted burritos for myself and my daughter. Ordered Al Pastor burrito for myself and Carne Asada beef for her. We paid for the super burritos which were supposed to include sour cream and guacamole. Neither one did. the Carne Asada looked almost gray. The Al pastor was decent, but the beans they use were gritty and not particularly satisfying. The salsa bar was great. The service was great and fast. The people were accommodating and kind. I feel conflicted because the people were so nice and the restaurant looked fine and the salsa bar was above average, but both my daughter and I have stomach aches because of the food. on the last third of my burrito the back end of the burrito opened up and all the juice came out everywhere on my pants. bummer but not the restaurants fault. I was on my way to Awful Annie's this morning for the usual breakfast, and I just had a hankering for a breakfast burrito and something simpler. So I pulled in to El Burrito Taqueria and gave it a quick look up here on yelp. Saw great and reasonably priced breakfast burritos on the menu and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. It's a truly authentic Mexican restaurant with an awesome salsa bar, fresh chips, and great service. I ordered the breakfast burrito number three with Carnitas and it was huge and as wonderful as it was large. I couldn't even eat it all, so took half of it home and I'm gonna enjoy it tomorrow. This place turned out to be a great spot for lunch while we were charging our car nearby. They offer an extensive menu, and the portions are generous. We ordered a super burrito and two quesadillas, and everything tastes good and was fresh. The prices here are quite reasonable compared to taquerias in the Bay Area these days. While we were there, we noticed there were family gatherings and local lunch meetups, which gave the place a welcoming feel. Based on the reviews we saw, my husband and I decided to try El Burrito's breakfast burritos. First off, the lady working the front was extremely pleasant. And their burritos did not disappoint! My husband had the chorizo, and I had the carnitas (no rice or beans, not for me for a breakfast burrito). The burritos were huge and sooo tasty. Loved the addition of sour cream and tomatillo - made it moist and even more flavorful. I also liked it that the potatoes were on the smaller side so they did not overcome everything else. I am a huge snob when it comes to carnitas, having been raised on carnitas from Carnitas Michoacan in Gilroy. Carnitas should not be bland, roasted pork. It should be cooked in lard and have a salty, rich flavor, some carmelization, and crispy bits. That is exactly what I got from El Burrito. Heavenly. We will defiitely be back. Last night, the food and service was excellent. The salsa bar was clean and well stocked. Prices were in line with other restaurants of this type. I took off a star for two reasons. First, the faucet in the men's restroom was broken and only dispensed scalding water. Too hot to wash your hands. I reported it to the counter person but it didn't appear to generate much concern. Secondly, the rubber mats by the entry door were worn and presented a trip and fall hazard. They may want to do some risk assessment here. read more

This location just happened to be literally just a few steps from the hotel we were staying at, and so we decided to pickup some chow to bring back to the room. The Good: *Convenient website for ordering pick-up *Drive-thru! *Friendly service *Free chips and a salsa bar for dining in patrons *Inside is really clean and inviting *Relatively inexpensive and no upcharge on the offal *Beers on draught as well as a large selection of *Ordered three tacos (Taco Tuesday) w/ various meats and their tripas (tripe) were sensational. Crispy large chunks with a nice chew and that flavor I love. The Meh: *Ordered some nachos to share, and they were kind of a cold, gloppy mess by the time we went to eat it. The takeout portion might've affected that, but it didn't help that they put way too much stuff on the nachos. *The website isn't entirely accurate for certain things like drink selection, and it can be a little confusing on some of the options. The Ugly: *My other two tacos were pretty gross, if I'm being honest. The Carne Asada (grilled beef) was more steamed than grilled, and Chile Colorado was dry as the Sahara. Conclusion: Not the best Mexican food we've had, but certainly not the worst. Some of the issues could be due to the takeout factor, but who knows. We enjoyed our tacos. The tortillas tasted like they were freshly made. The pastor meat was very flavorful. I really enjoyed my meal. Amazing!! We stopped at El Burrito Taqueria on our way to Tahoe. Personnel is friendly and restaurant was very clean. We ordered a fish taco, a shrimp taco and three quesobirria tacos. My husband's fish and shrimp tacos were so good, he ate them before I could take a picture. The quesobirria were so big and filled to the brim. Meat was so tender and the broth, I could have had it by itself. Don't forget to try the salsa bar. What really made the visit standout, was the cashier who came around to all the tables to make sure everything was to the customer's satisfaction.
